I've been here maybe a total of 4 times and the most recent time was when it was still warm out. It seems like River City has plenty of parking even w/o a garage... wait, maybe there is a garage and I've never needed to use it. I haven't patronized the Italian restaurant Cibare in a few years, but each time I've eaten really well there. The machines did not pay out much for us last time. I don't even care whether I'm up or down at the end of the day. I just want the machines to DO something for a minute. But it was not my day. The auditorium area had one of those giveaways for... I don't know who those are for because I don't do that much at a casino. I have nothing much to say, do I? It's a fine casino. As clean as a smoky-smelling place can be. I'm guessing I'll be back within the next couple of years.

I was taking an Uber from the airport to my hotel at the Hyatt at the Arch and saw the Horseshoe. I had no idea there was a Caesars property right here. I had originally planned to visit Horseshoe on the IL IN border, while I was in Chicago to use some of my F&B, but I ended up liking Chicago so much that I never made it there. So discovering this property was a very pleasant surprise. I was warned by both the concierge and some locals not to walk over. It's an easy, flat 10-minute walk, but apparently the area away from the stadium can be a little sketchy. So I decided to Uber over instead. I was expecting the worst and, honestly, was surprised by how nice the property was. The casino floor obviously isn't Vegas-sized, which is what I'm used to, but it is still a pretty good-sized casino. More importantly, it was clean, updated, and really pleasant. Definitely much nicer than I was expecting. WOW! I also liked some of the little perks. Drinks at the bar were only $4.50, typical ree coffee and soda at the dispensers. The property is attached to the Four Seasons, and I was even able to use a comp at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. (Definitely overpriced, but hey, a comp is a comp!) I also checked out the pool deck. With the muggy, hot July weather, I was surprised it wasn't busier because it's actually a beautiful space. Even if you don't use the pool, it's worth checking out. Overall, I would absolutely return. In fact, I'd consider staying here next time, assuming the rooms are not the typical rundown Caesars property rooms or if I can get a good deal at the Four Seasons, which is always top-notch. One thing I still don't understand is why Four Seasons would have a property connected to Harrah's/Caesars, but that's a question for another day!

The staff were very nice and courteous from everyone I encountered while there. I arrived early and my room was available, which I was thankful for; however, the early check in fee was a little steep but at least they were able to charge less due to the agreement with the conference organizer. The last day of the conference I asked to have a late checkout as I wanted to be able to go back to my room after 12 pm and change clothes. I was told that for a late checkout it'd be a charge of half the room rate. That was way too much. I wasn't going to stay long, I just wanted to keep my clothes in the room until I could come back and change before heading out the door to the airport. I'd recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the St. Louis area and look forward to my next trip...I'll just make sure not to check in early, or ask for a late checkout.

The front desk shift manager informed me that the pipes are " Old St Louis pipes; you need to run the water for at least 10 minutes" she also said, " unless someone tells us about an issue in the room, we don't know it - sheets are spotted from our new laundry facility due to iron marks" etc etc!!" Today- cold water only in shower!! Something gross stuck to my clean towel- should have taken a photo!! I was able to get a room on the first floor and it's very quiet - this also means I can't weigh-in on the elevator situation that others have mentioned. The rooms are only cleaned if you ask for it, which does seem odd when you're charging a resort fee. I'm not sure what the resort fee covers because none of the machines in the gym work except a very old pedal bike. There is a bar on the ground floor but I haven't seen it open the past two days and the lobby does smell a lot like cigarettes - this is likely from the casino. Thankfully, my room doesn't smell. I requested a room cleaning (you need to give 24 hours notice) but it never happened. Net/net: My room is large, quiet and gives me easy access to my event so personally, I can't complain. However, I can see why some people might find this hotel to be a let down. It's labeled as a Caesar's property yet it's very outdated and there is no resort amenities. If you like to people-watch, you'll be pleased with the odd array of folks that hang out here. It's NOTHING like a Vegas casino. We're talking disabled people who don't appear to have moved from a single slot machine in years, retirees blowing their Social Security checks on the penny slots, gap-toothed cocktail waitresses, and good ole boys from the nearby farming communities acting like they're in Ocean's 11 or something as they puzzle their way through the basics of blackjack. There are exceptions, of course, but overall, this place is kind of a freakshow. Anyway, I've been twice now because they do occasionally have really good concerts. I saw Air Supply here in 2007, along with Loverboy a bit later. It's an extremely small venue, and if you get there early, you can usually snag a decent seat (but be warned, the front seats are typically reserved for people who have some kind of special relationship with the casino. Acoustically, it's an imperfect venue. For seating, it's even worse (all of the seats are level, so if someone tall is front of you...too bad). Still, the acts they bring in are worthwhile and the venue feels very intimate. I should also mention that thanks to wonderful new regulation in Illinois, smokers are not welcome inside the casino. You'll still get the occasional whiff of it from someone whose clothing is tainted, but the bigger concern these days is body odor. Now if they could just outlaw that one...
