The hotel is dated, not clean, and the level of customer care needs improvement. There was a hole in the lamp shade. The mattress was blood stained, and the NON smoking rooms smell like smoke! Awful. Sickening. Why would the 8th floor be the smoking floor knowing the ventilation system pushes the air down? Oh..and the sink does not drain. The first room that I checked into was so dirty in the bathroom! Tub was black with dirt and it was late, so I used my Chlorax wipes to clean an entire layer of dirt; had to change rooms after realizing that it didn't have a shower diverted!! Next room, sink was clogged and either cold water or extremely hot! Maintenance came in to plunge gross amount of yuck, in the sink!! The front desk shift manager informed me that the pipes are " Old St Louis pipes; you need to run the water for at least 10 minutes" she also said, " unless someone tells us about an issue in the room, we don't know it - sheets are spotted from our new laundry facility due to iron marks" etc etc!!" Today- cold water only in shower!! Something gross stuck to my clean towel- should have taken a photo!! Do yourself a favor- bring chlorax wipes, shower shoes and test everything prior to unpacking!! read more

2.5/5. It's really hard to rate this hotel. On one side of the coin, it's very close to the conference center where I'm attending a work event. There is a Starbucks close by inside of the Casino. The rooms are very large, but dated. I was able to get a room on the first floor and it's very quiet - this also means I can't weigh-in on the elevator situation that others have mentioned. The rooms are only cleaned if you ask for it, which does seem odd when you're charging a resort fee. I'm not sure what the resort fee covers because none of the machines in the gym work except a very old pedal bike. There is a bar on the ground floor but I haven't seen it open the past two days and the lobby does smell a lot like cigarettes - this is likely from the casino. Thankfully, my room doesn't smell. I requested a room cleaning (you need to give 24 hours notice) but it never happened. Net/net: My room is large, quiet and gives me easy access to my event so personally, I can't complain. However, I can see why some people might find this hotel to be a let down. It's labeled as a Caesar's property yet it's very outdated and there is no resort amenities. The website said there is a pool but that's been closed since 2019 and the gym has zero weights and only one working cardio machine. read more

This was found in my bathroom at horseshoe lumiere approx 11:30 last night, checked in about 4pm dropped our bags and headed to the ballpark (reasoning we did not find upon initial checkin). Notified the front desk and were told there is no manger on site and nothing they can do due to "full capacity" and no refund was offered. we left and drove 3 hours home. We've called corporate and the font desk multiple times with no response. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past due to receiving discounted rates through caesars however they have just lost long time customers! read more

A great stay at the Lumiere! Parking was easy, close & free with our stay. The lobby's smell is pretty amazing considering its proximity to the casino. They have obviously tried to reduce smoke odor. We enjoyed the terrace vibe with lighting and beautiful water feature. Our room was large with no smells. Bed was comfortable with great bedding. Shower had full pressure, ample hot water and nicer towels than a cheap hotel. We walked the neighborhood at all hours. Maybe it's our exposure to large cities, but we felt very safe. Staff was friendly, but we had limited interaction. They did allow us to check in early with no notice-but there was a $15 additional charge discussed up front. We will stay again next Christmas because Rooftop Bar is my new favorite spot! *do wish room fridge was colder read more

I was charged for a late check out ,I actually checked out 2hours b4,I called the hotel to ask why was charged when I left early, she told me there was nothing anyone could do, that I had to talk with the manager, I left a message, no response, I called again, nothing then I went to the hotel, I was told he was a busy man and don't know when he was gonna be available ,and that no one could credit that charge ,til this day I heard nothing from anyone from the hotel, I end up paying, I will never stay there read more

I stayed here while visiting St Louis for the umteenth but this was one of those times where I was going to stay for a little and I wanted a king deluxe kinda room from someplace that I don't usually do, a tourist destination property. This destination property is anchored on each end by hotels with a casino in the middle filled with shops, bars and restaurants. This is the kinda of property where you really have no need to leave it. My room had a nice modern look with colorful carpets, drapes and art on the walls. No bed bugs were present in the room I stayed in. My room had a living room with a small couch, two person table/chair set up like a dining area with a flat screen, bar and fridge. The king bedroom had had a dresser, table and night stands with cool lights. The stone surfaces were a nice touch and the sign of a better hotel. Parking is included that has a fence with a person in a shack who lets you in and out with a security tower overlooking the whole lot. Your room key unlocks the elevator otherwise anyone can go to the sky bridge for the casino. At the end of the day I was tired and I was tired of traffic so I got food from a burger style restaurant in the casino to take back to my room which was decent. Overall I will probably will not do a properly like a destination all in one because I didn't use 90% of it but I enjoyed my stay and the city. The room was clean, nice and comfortable with enough spaces to hang out in. read more

Front desk rude 2/09/2025-2/11/2025 both morning and night. Stayed for two days while my father under goes a liver transplant surgery at Barnes Jewish. Bad weather comes in, and we wanted to stay one more night. They told us we needed to check out of room til 3pm. We couldn't just stay. Or if we did stay we would be charged a $50 early cHeck in fee. Front desk was rude because we booked through Expedia. If customer service changes from where you booked, then don't allow booking from outside sources. read more

So I went to the desk to get my water and was told by the white woman I had to get it when I checked in I explained to her it was very busy and she said well if you didn't get it when u checked in you can't have it...I explained to her I needed it for my medicine in the morning she smiled and said naw if you didn't get it when you came in you can't have it now...on my 3rd night room 409 was open i called security they told me to call the front desk they in turn told me no one was staying in the room and housekeeping probably didn't finish it I called back they told me not to hang around they have security cameras all over the property other than the issues it was quite ..it's nice to have a place to stay just no breakfest. We enjoyed our stay at the Lumiere. The secure parking was definitely a plus for me. It is a pain when they close off roads to the hotel and the casino around 7 and you have to drive ALL THE WAY around, but again, I'll take that for the security. The room was very nice and I appreciate the non-smoking option. Having access from the restaurants on the casino as well as Cinder House over at the Four Seasons was clutch. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was even better. The shower had great water pressure and stayed HOT. The Lumiere is close to the highway and not far for the things we wanted to do downtown. read more

This hotel is very dated. The bathroom sink has cracks all over it, the bathroom itself was dirty. There is a vent in our room that has years of dust on it. The phones in the room did not work. We had to go down to the desk to get toilet paper and coffee when we needed it as well as extra towels. The website states there is a pool but it has been closed since 2019! Don't let the cute name fool you. Hospitality is not on the list of amenities. Here is what I found: A set of elevators were broken and unavailable for the entire 3 day stay. The bar was not open. There are no microwaves in the facility. The room is dimly lit probably to hide the fact that it is subpar in cleanliness. On the last day as I undressed the bed, I found blood on my pillow. The creepy windows at the front of each room give all access to peep in. Despite closing the curtains, there are areas which can be seen from the hall. The front staff was overwhelmed and overworked. However, I did not find much hospitality there when I found one of my key cards did not work - Only shame for not keeping my card in the folder. I do not recommend this hotel or the connecting casino which was smoky and empty. Although I did not use the casino, the smoke from it wafted over to the Morton's steakhouse. To get to the conference center, you must walk through the casino area and a long tunnel. So, be aware of the walking required. Not a problem for me to walk the long distance, but if you need assistance you're out of luck. The moving walkways did not work, escalator going down was unavailable for use, and bathrooms were not open. I do not recommend for conventions, parties or any other large function. The Starbucks could not handle the amount of people in for the convention. There are better options in the area. read more

Good hotel! I'm not sure about the negative comments. This hotel was clean, front desk pleasant. Normal dings on the walls and corners of things. Room-clean. Could use a dusting on the lamps. Bed was comfortable. Pillows are way too fluffy lol. Shower was great! Carpet clean-couch needed a little cleaning but I usually put a sheet on furniture in a hotel, before I use it. So whatever. Couldn't hear anything in the halls or other rooms. The 2 phones in the room didn't work. Weird. Otherwise this was a good stay! Will return!! read more

Booked this hotel for a wedding at the Four Seasons that had this as a part of their room block. Figured it would be nice to save some money, but boy oh boy were we wrong. Hotel room was poorly cleaned,our shower curtain was hanging on by a thread (literally had 3 broken loops and was tied to the curtain rod), there was a blood stain on the carpet, safe was broken and had been drilled through so I had to keep nice jewelry in my car, elevator was broken so we took the stairs which were disgusting, and one of the guests I was with contracted ringworm after staying here. Hotel also constantly smells strongly of marijuana and cigarettes. Absolutely would NOT recommend. It is absolutely worth every extra penny to stay at the four seasons. read more

Listen, it's cheap I get it. Just know you're checking in to a dying hotel. Reserved for a conference. Every other floor is smoking... so you can imagine that every room smells like smoke. I was in a non smoking room and smelled every time my neighbor lit up... 'cigarettes only.' Between that, the *no wifi in my room* (what century are we in), the constant drafts of Marijuana coming from the rooms next store, the broken safes and elevators and the staff that make it very clear you're on their time... I wouldn't expect much more than a bad cough once you leave. Though to staff credit, they did chuckle when I asked that it must be hard to work in clearly dying business. Fitness center most equipment is broken and three dumbells. Not three sets of dumbells, three dumbells. To their credit, my bed was made with clean sheets, though sitting in the lobby I heard another guest complain that a room they were given had had an unmade bed. read more

We stayed 2 nights here and my biggest complaint is the elevator issues. They had only one working the first night and then a couple of times the ONE that was working would mess up and we would have to take the stairs. It's not a huge problem but can be a little inconvenient. Also, there's no complimentary breakfast which was a bummer. And one of our mattresses had brown stains? The workers were super nice, otherwise. Had my husband not gotten the room with hotel points, I would be FURIOUS if we had paid for this. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

Background: I am a nurse/caregiver for a veteran who is over 80 years old and passing through St. Louis. This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. There were three cockroaches in one of the rooms and one cockroach in the other room I stayed at. I checked in at 1600 hours and I advised them there was a roach in the room a housekeeping lady with a bag of Cheetos came in and flushed the roach down the toilet, then left the room. She then left the room. I went to my 2nd room(I had two rooms for my job) and there were three roaches. I went to the front desk again to tell them and then went to the first room to help my client prepare for dinner. We went to the casino and then to dinner. After dinner when we came back to the hotel rooms at 2000 hours I noticed my room still had three roaches. I went back to the front desk and the front desk people changed. Steven was the person at the front desk and when I asked him to remove said roaches like the housekeeper did before. Steven said let me get my boss. That is when a very heavy-set lady with an attitude told me I couldn't stay in the room and wanted me to switch to the 7th floor. But my client would be staying on the first floor. I advised them that is not possible for my client's sake. Then they refused to talk to me cuz I was just the caregiver for the actual guest. When my client's wife spoke to them they wanted both rooms to be moved to the 4th floor neither room was an ADA room. The big-boned lady advised us "If we didn't move rooms she would be forcing us off the perimeter". when we ask who her boss was she said "Josh Irving and he is not available" The fat lady was very rude to both my client's wife and myself. read more

bed bugs were found in my room and i was told from staff memeber kayla 314-881-7777 that i was lying we have pictures of the bugs in the bed and i have contacted the health department she had the wrong room checked for bed bugs and then once i pointed it out she said correction. this is a big cover up please do not stay there with your family my grandson was bitten the worst all in the diaper area and its on camera once we went to front desk to report it at 2am to the supervisor. read more

I booked a room for 2 nights for Spring Break for me and my son. the location is super convenient with free parking. However it is adjacent to a super bad neighborhood and we did not feel comfortable venturing out after dark. The lobby is the nicest part of the hotel; it's all downhill from there. Everything is slightly dirty- corners and edges of carpets not cleaned. Linens smelled funny. Only 1 functioning elevator-that I was told by other guests has been broken for ages. Hotel sites list a pool - there is none, it's broken and out of commission. There is a bar in the lobby that never opened, and when I called down to ask if it would, was just told no, it's closed. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers were empty. was promised an arch view room at booking, didn't have one available upon arrival. Listen to the other reviews of this hotel on this and other sites. Its pretty dumpy. Had I not gotten the room for free with my Caesars rewards, I would have demanded a refund. read more

This was our first time staying at the Horseshoe/Lumiere in St Louis. ALL of the staff were friendly and helpful the whole stay. The staff isn't the problem. This could be a wonderful location if it was managed better. Only one of the four elevators were operational. The room smelled like someone had been smoking in it before we got there. Most of the plug ins on the lamps weren't functional. The bathroom was chipping paint but had really great hot water! They didn't have any extra pillows and only one thin extra blanket for my wife (she sleeps cold). Wi-Fi was unavailable the whole time we were there. Calling the front desk got sympathy, but they told us, "Yeah, we can't figure out what the problem is either!" Cleanliness throughout could have been better. A manager who called attention to the little things that need to be attended to would really improve the quality of the whole experience. It could have been great!! read more

One of the worst casinos in America.. I travel all over the country and this place is so gross. The bathrooms, the buttons on every machine the chips it's so gross. They're all caked with something it disgusting I wanna wash my hands every five seconds in there.. not to mention it's hood central and you have to worry about getting shot when you leave.
