if I could give a lower review I would. I've been told several times by their vet staff about how they have "educated" me on what's going on with my dog and all they told me was it could be a bug bite or it could be a cancerous tumor and to just observe it and sent me home with nothing. and when my dogs eye was bleeding and I called concerned she just kept repeating about how they had already educated me on the topic and bc I "couldn't remember the instructions the doctor gave me" just kept rereading notes. a referral I never got for over 2 weeks for this tumor and X-rays I paid over $400 to do and send out and still no results. no sense of urgency. if you genuinely love your pet. do not take them here. they do not give a fuck about your pets. I will be canceling my plan and never giving this company my money ever again. read more

(11/10) Inexperienced, incompetent, do not take you're pet here! The workers will add extras to your wellness plan without knowing how it will charge your account, tell you misinformation and have you paying quadruple your monthly bill! Then claim they can do nothing about it...AFTER THEY MESSED UP! They claimed to take it off my account so that wouldn't happen again... THEY DIDNT. I go back in today to cancel it after I paid off from the previous cycle and they are now saying it cannot be canceled for a YEAR! AFTER THEY MESSED UP! Ridiculous, do not go here and the staff never answers the phone even when they are not busy, saw it with my own eyes while waiting for my pet to be seen. Will be going back in tomorrow morning to speak to the manager Stacey, going to have customer service on the phone with me as well...I'll update if my problem ever gets solved or if they continue to steal my money. (11/9) NEXT DAY - Once again no help, absolutely terrible. The alleged manager Stacey seems to be M.I.A. , one of the staff members told me she would be there today 8am that was a LIE. Won't be back until Monday so they are just running around like chickens with their heads cut off. If I could give zero stars, I would. Last year my German Shepherd developed kidney disease and our 2 vets gave us prescriptions for Royal Canin Renal Diet dog food which Banfield carries and had plenty of in stock at the time. Banfield told me that in order for them to sell the food to me that they would have to do a consult and do the required tests all over again in order for me to buy the food from them!!! That is absolutely ridiculous and shows that all they care about is money. I had 2 prescriptions from UGA Veterinary Hospital as well as our local vet and they refused to sell us the food unless we spent thousands more with them! Horrible, greedy business! My niece and her husband had different, but bad experiences there as well. read more

I have been to this Pet Hospital a couple of times now. I must say it is a really nice place. Everyone that I have encountered seems to love working there. They all are very affectionate to the animals and I just enjoy watching how they interact with the animals. I just got a new pup a few months ago and I decided to come here vs. my regular vet. I am so glad I made the change and they have convenient hours which is a plus. I would recommend this office to anyone that is looking for affordable health care for their pets. read more

This place is RACIST!!! Or at least Carol at the front desk is!! I had been bringing my dogs here for a while and then all of a sudden i was treated like complete garbage by Carol. So I had been paying the monthly service for my pets. And today my puppy hurt his paw somehow and was limping and walking on THREE FEET only. Carol proceeds to tell me oh since you don't have an appointment you can't leave him, he will be okay just bring him back tomorrow. I asked why i needed an appointment for an emergency, Isn't this a Hospital?? She says well we are booked come tomorrow and rolls her eyes. At this point I'm already late for work so i leave but get my girlfriend TO GET OFF OF WORK EARLY to go there (i am black and she is white) and she asked Carol do you need an appointment for a hurt dog she says absolutely not. She goes off and ask her why did she just tell me an hour ago that i needed an appointment. Now Carol starts stuttering and is like oh oh oh oh ummmmm. So we had to take my dog to a different vet because he is in serious pain and they find out that he has Mange and could lose his limbs and all his hair If not treated in the next couple of days. He was then given 3 different antibiotics to help him with his condition and his paw. Wow. This place is HORRIBLE. They care nothing about your pet. I am cancelling everything i have with them and probably taking them to court to get all my money back that i have been paying them to tell me nothing is wrong with my dog. And to have CAROL fired for sending me away and not to even have my dog looked at that was in pain and could die from . DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PUP. The rep at the front counter put the wrong name on the account. We corrected her onsite but she never fixed it. The plan had issues also. We were paying for Addonflee/tick that our dogs cant receive because of their weight. We had to them In spite of the Addon covering it. But still pay because we care about our puppies. Spoke the rudest Rep ever (Tony). He did care if Banfield maintained a customer. I asked for a manager... he Initially Advised no one available at the moment, then later advised they dont talk to customers. So he wanted us to pay $600 to correct their mistake. Spoke to a Client advocate named Jessica. She was very polite, sympathetic and attentive. I hope to be able to revise this review. She advised that they would call me back within 3 days. read more

Took my dog into be seen a months ago for vomiting as she could not keep anything down. I was told by Dr. Pinkerton or Pilkinton (?) also known as Dr. P that my dog needed to have emergency exploratory surgery or she would die and I needed to come 1st thing the next morning to have her perform the surgery which would be over $1000. Me loving my 1st and only pet was willing to do whatever to save my dog. I got a call the following day after Pinkerton (I refuse to call her a doctor) finished surgery on my dog stating that SHE FOUND ABSOLUTELY WRONG WITH MY DOG and I should not feel I wasted my money "at least I can rule out cancer or any other deadly illness" (HER WORDS NOT MINE) and that my dog was fine. My dog got a little better and was only vomiting every now and then until last week ONE MONTH POST OPERATION. I took her back to Banfield and she was seen by an extremely knowledgeable Dr. by the name of Dr. Toliver. Dr.Tolliver referred me to a specialist immediately to have an ultrasound performed because she knew something was obviously wrong. I took my dog to the specialist the very next day which was last Thursday and was told I needed to euthanize my dog immediately as they found multiple masses/ cancer in her body and free flowing fluid that could have been from a organ ruptured during the surgery Pinkerton performed. I also read on yelp that Pinkerton ruptured someone else's dog's nerve during surgery (Refer to previous reviews)Needless to say I had to put my dog down for something that should have been observed during the surgery she performed last month. PLEASE BEWARE!!! The previous review also stated that she's inexperienced and needed a doctor to observe her during the surgery which she also a 2nd dr was present when she cut my dog open. Practice on stray dogs or dogs at animal shelters not on my dog.This is my first ever YELP review and I simply want to help save someone else's dog from the treatment or lack there of that my dog received. read more

On Tuesday, I lost my beloved Happy to of all things -- pneumonia. For her entire (almost) 11 years she went to Banfield. First in South Carolina, and then in Georgia. And, I am incensed! It's been two days since she died, and not a phone call, not a note, not anything from the Banfield in Lilburn, Ga. She had a comprehensive exam on march 28, and several days later she started being sluggish-- not that much, just a little. I finally took her to the vet about a week after her comp, and said she's not really eating and she doesn't really want to take walks. The gave me dog food that wasy easy on the stomach. She ate some, but really not much and continued to be lethargic. I took her back two days later, and said something is amiss, and now, she's breathing irregularly and losing lots of weight, and she's in pain. They said: Well, nothing physically seems wrong, but she's in pain for something. So, they gave me pain medicine with anti-inflammatory properties and an appetite stimulant. That was last Friday. They told me to maybe try xrays in about 10 days if she's not better. Over the weekend, she didn't really perk up except once, and I determined the meds were doing nothing, and I called back. I asked for xrays, blood work, etc. Before I could take her in on Tuesday I came in and she was curled up in a ball. In shock -- for some reason, and obviously having problems breathing. I call the Banfield again, and they say bring her in so we can stabilize her, and then you'll probably have to go to the ER. Well, of course, Banfield didn't have any ideas about anything. I rushed her to the ER, and the ER Vet said -- It's pneumonia. She hadn't even taken an xray before she had deduced that. But, it was too late for my dog. She coded twice, and I finally told them to stop CPR. I'm devastated and FURIOUS. Not only was Banfield negligent in their care of my dog, they also were incompetent. After all their years of vet training, it amounted to nothing. And, now that they know she has passed away I've not gotten one call. I called to ask them some questions, and they have not called back. I don't know why I expected them to care about Happy, but it's evident they didn't. The ER Vet deduced that Happy got aspiration pneumonia from a procedure -- likely dental cleaning -- that Banfield did. I will never again use Banfield. 11 years as a patient, and the company couldn't even bother to say: I'm sorry for your loss. Deplorable. Heartless. Never again. read more
