If I could give more than 5 stars - I would! So glad we chose the doctors at Banfield (Dr. Z and Dr. McPeek) as our veterinarians for our two pups! I have tried every vet hospital in the area and once I found them, I never looked elsewhere again. We also have both pups on the plan and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I could really go on and on about them but will try and keep it short! :) The guys and gals on staff are incredibly friendly, sweet and helpful. I feel like I am always calling to get an appointment for my frenchie who always needs a checkup for something or another and they always fit him in! Dr. Z. and Dr. McPeek are absolutely wonderful!! They are both wonderful wonderful doctors. For starters, I really feel like they treat our pups as they would their own. They always always give my guys a thorough examination and give them more than enough attention. I never feel as if I am being rushed out of there and I am in there often with the frenchie! All my questions are always answered (and I often have a lot!) :) My husband and I absolutely love them and are so happy we have them to look after our boys when they need it. We would not trust anyone else with them!

Caring Heart Animal Hospital Review - 3/3/26…read more I had been searching for a new vet for my Great Pyrenees. He's a big guy with various issues since we adopted him from a kill shelter about 7-years ago. I had been going to Belle Mead Animal Hospital, and they are very good, but I was looking for a more local vet that had the time to spend working on his issues. Some of those issues included a luxated patella, digestive sensitivity, paw infections and the like. I found Caring Heart through the Next Door app, and the reviews were very good, so I figured I would give it a shot. Since the very first appointment back in 2024, I found Dr. Chris & his staff to be an excellent choice. He was compassionate, he listened and provided a thoughtful & dedicated approach to my GP's care. His prices were fair (and less than my previous vet) and more important, his approach always focused on care and not "spending money for the sake of..." Well, recently, Dr. Chris sold the practice, and my concern was that I had to begin the search process all over again. Well, that wasn't the case at all. Dr. Silit, acquired the practice, and although he was highly recommended by Dr. Chris prior to his departure, you never know what to expect until that first visit. Well, I'm delighted to report that Dr. Silit is outstanding. He takes the time to understand the issues, listens very well and more important, he provides timely and effective care at every turn. I should also say that as a Surgeon, you would think he would promote "surgery" at every turn, even if there are less evasive options. I'm happy to report that nothing could be further from the truth. I've always gotten an appointment quickly, and his pricing and recommendations always make sense. Additionally, I found his staff, Brandon & Jessica, truly round out the experience when it comes to making you feel welcome. They are there with you in case of any emergency needs. My feeling is that no business would likely receive 5-stars across the board. Someone will always be disappointed or find reasons not to recommend. In this case, I assure you that your experience with Dr. Silit and his team, based on my ongoing relationship with them, will stand the test of time. Whether you need meds, general wellness care or emergency counsel, Dr. Silit and his team are there. Finally, you should know that I'm not one to rate businesses unless I'm deeply disappointed or highly impressed. Caring Heart in Skillman deserves a visit, if you're like me & you're highly selective about your pet's care and need for a responsive, friendly and knowledgeable staff that simply "gets it". This is one small town vet with big positive outcomes that's worth your time and business.

For years, we received excellent service and great kindness from the married veterinarians who operated the clinic. From providing me with excellent references when I wanted to adopt a cat to offering sensitive services in helping to see each kitty cross the "Rainbow Bridge," this was a highly empathetic and ethical veterinary practice. The doctors Miele retired and sold the practice, and I did not have any problems until recently when I took my 14-year-old Himalayan, Dexter, for a checkup. He is very healthy but has some tummy issues. There was no discussion of costs prior to the exam and I did not think that was odd because I always assumed they would be fair. I was asked if I wanted to include a recommended blood test - I said yes, not realizing it was about $350. I had planned on spending about $500 and was shocked when the bill was $1000! I explained that I thought that was high but I would pay $500 now and the balance the following Monday. This arrangement was not acceptable - The office manager, a woman with few people skills or empathy, insisted I pay the entire amount and made veiled threats that included stating that leaving without paying the full amount was equivalent to walking out of a store without paying. They treated me like a potential criminal instead of a long-term client and refused to send the blood test out until I paid the full amount. I am an 83-year-old senior citizen with a serious lung condition. I am on O2 24/7. I have lived in the same condo for 35 years and have run a successful business since moving here. I have no record of any kind beyond traffic tickets. Did this witch and the equally unhelpful women manning the desk at Princeton Animal Hospital think that I was going to toss all that, grab my cat and flee into the night between Thursday and Monday, just to avoid paying $500? Luckily, I had Dexter in his carrier and in my hand because I feel certain they would have held him hostage. I admit that my Irish temper flared but I have a lot to cope with being ill with a terminal disease and being threatened with more financial hassles and stress. So, I just left. I called the next day - the Manager was off and I was told that the blood test would not be sent out until I paid the $500. They could not guarantee the specimen would still be viable and I might have to bring Dexter in again for a new test! As if! I just cancelled the blood test and asked them to invoice me the balance which they did. I am going into this kind of detail to show how far Princeton Animal Hospital has fallen and to tell you that they may be within their rights. This is becoming a common practice in New York, according to a friend of mine, cat care expert and groomer, Anitra Frazier. My advice would be to discuss the costs in advance before even bringing your dog or cat to any vet. And to certainly avoid Princeton Animal Hospital. So, now I need to find a new vet for Dexter. (I should have noted earlier that my quarrel is not with Princton Animal Hospital's veterinarians but with its obnoxious clerical staff.) It is really sad to see how far this one excellent practice has fallen.

Bad experience at Harlingen…read more I brought my cat in to be checked for a possible respiratory infection on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025. She'd been sneezing intermittently and occasionally sniffling. My cat was assigned to Dr. Aguilar. Somehow, the technician and doctor misunderstood this information and began examining her eye instead. First, they wanted to give her a vaccine for her respiratory condition, then the doctor changed her mind. I was bombarded with jargon that I had to repeatedly ask to be clarified. Even when I explained that I have difficulty handling her (she does not like to be picked up or touched), the doctor prescribed an eye ointment and medication to mix with her food--no antibiotic shot, even though that treatment had been prescribed before. I never requested an eye exam. My cat is seen by the Vet Vision Center, and they are fully aware of her eye condition. And NO, she's not having an operation on her eye (as suggested). It's almost impossible (and extremely stressful) to attempt to apply an ointment to her eye twice a day! She notices the crushed pills and does not touch the food with them in it. Why can't she get an antibiotic shot? She's had them before and they helped. My cat is 15-17 years old, and I do NOT want to stress her with treatments that would confine her to a room for two weeks. I felt that neither my needs nor my cat's were addressed. I didn't feel listened to, nor did I feel my concerns were taken seriously. My cat is an older cat who dislikes being held, and I emphasized this multiple times. I simply don't want to add unnecessary stress to her life at this point. Even during nail trimming, I was uncomfortable with how the techs handled her. At first, they just did her front paws and told me they'd do the back ones next time. I had to insist they trim her back paws. What kind of care is this? In addition, the initial billing quote was about $100. I asked the tech and the doctor to give me an estimate of additional charges, if any. This was NOT communicated to me. I was blindsided when I went to pay the bill upon leaving--$295! I was too upset to argue, so I paid it. I felt like I was taken advantage of. I'm sorry I came to Harlingen--things have clearly changed since I came here years ago with my other cats. My needs and my cat's needs were not addressed. As a senior citizen on a budget, I feel like I wasted $295 on this visit, and now I'll have to spend more to see another vet. This experience was very upsetting to me, and we won't be back. I'm done with Harlingen.

She went above and beyond caring for my cat Cheddy whom we ultimately had to say goodbye to due to irreversible HCM. This emergency visit was my first impression of this office and I was very impressed. The staff member who answered (Brittany) refused to provide the information or explain how I could obtain/understand the notes, and the call became unnecessarily unpleasant. I had to keep pressing the issue of her attitude and lack of willingness to assist so that she could email me the test results. I shared that I'd already paid over $300 for testing (and $580 for the initial visit) and that Lily has a tumor diagnosis--so I needed the results to make timely decisions about her care. Instead of empathy or clear next steps, I was met with a dismissive tone and no helpful guidance. Warning for other pet owners: if you need test results or vet notes promptly, be prepared for delays and poor communication. A clinic handling serious diagnoses should have a clear, respectful process to release records or connect you with someone who can interpret them. I do not feel comfortable returning, and I recommend choosing a different provider if you want straightforward, compassionate communication. Management should follow up and clearly explain how clients can obtain test results and veterinarian notes the same day they request them. Other than this incident, the care and attention my pet received from the vet and tech staff was very good. They just need to do something about their front desk
