I had an appt. When I got there the assistant came in and took my dog out of the room. She came back in & said my dog has dermatitis and to give her benadryl. I told her I rather have a topical, so she had to go ask the vet again. This went on for a while and I ask her why can't the vet come in here to talk to me. She said she had an emergency. I said well you took my dog out to see her and you keep leaving to go ask her questions & I would like to have a conversation so I think she might have 2 min. Again she said i will have to go ask her. I said forget it. I was still charged but never saw the vet, never got medicine, NOTHING! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE! One star because I cannot leave ZERO stars. a simple bad tooth left my Chewy, a gorgeous 7 year old German Sheppard, dead in the incompetent hands of the tax and handlers at Banfield pet Hospital. The first visit was a fail because the doctor did nothing. Two days later, I forced my dog to go back to fix his tooth. They flipped him so many times that his stomach inverted.. when I picked him up at 4:30 PM. He was so terrified of this huge ugly technician that he in the car and yelped in pain. The technician shrugged his shoulders and walked back in. Four hours and $750 later my dog was put down by Sunnyville pet emergency because Banfield killed my dog. read more

I would like to thank this location for being friendly and helpful during my time of bringing my pet here. I used to goto a different location; i switched to this one and never looked back. Both vets here are wonderful. They both handled my pet with thoroughness and care. My last visit was for my passing pet. Although this was difficult both vets helped me get through the moment and helped me make the best decision. The tech that walked me through the remaining portions of what needed to be done was very gracious as well. My husband & I tried for YEARS to get someone at this location to listen to us regarding our beloved Bichon Frise named Sofia. I would arrive for an appt early in order to make request that Sofia NOT BE PUT IN A CAGE before or after exams, etc. I would sit in the chairs that they provided next to the cashier so....that they knew where I was b/c they could see me! But, they always insisted on placing Sofia in a cage which made her extremely anxious & difficult to manage for them. After multiple visits like this...nothing ever changed. I was ignored by the staff and Sofia was traumatized. Next problem...on one of our scheduled appointments, I asked that they clip Sofia's nails for me. The staff told me that I had to upgrade to a different plan in order to get her nails clipped. I said, "OK" and paid the additional charge. After my credit card was charged for the upgrade, I asked, "Now can you clip her nails?" Their exact words were...'THAT WILL COST $5 PLZ." What a bunch of idiots! THIS IS AN OPERATION THAT ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. read more

We having been going to this location for years and we have had our ups and downs. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. We also have their wellness programs and have come in handy over the years. Like when my dashound Rocky got gored by a pig or the time he was bitten by the snake in the face. Both times they helped me get him back to his healthy self so he could get in more trouble. This location has improved dramatically over the last couple of years and I would not take my animals anywhere else. read more

Called office by mistake to bring my cat in for an exam as she had visited once when we first moved to the area. Said there was no available spaces ( luckily) and said to just drop her off and they would get to her sometime. I asked if they could help with any other clinic that could take her in and was given the run around. I called other places and even though they couldn't get her in they referred me to several other options. After receiving such rude customer service over the phone by two receptionists I looked around for another vet and realized I had called the wrong place. I was wondering why I was being given such horrible service from the place I had been using for over a year and realized this is why I never went back there after the first time. We left our two dogs to be checked for worms. My wife specifically told the people at reception and wrote it down in their drop off form. We dropped them off at 9:15 am and did not get a call back until after 4:30 pm. We got there to pick up our dogs and the people at reception just gave them back. When questioned on the treatment (same employees as the morning) they looked surprised and said they had NOT been treated for that! (So what did you have my dogs for so long??!!!) We had to wait for additional 30 min to see the vet on why our dogs didn't get treated the vet came out ignored us walked back inside and after 10 minutes sent the receptionist with some pills! (No explanation or apology! We have been to other Banfield pet hospitals and this one is the worst! They even know it! The last lady that handed is the pills apologized and said (quote) "sorry we are ALL new here and we have NO training, NO idea on what to do, we are learning as we go!" To the managers and customer service people for this location: our pets and us deserve a better quality of service with knowledgeable and qualified vets and vets assistants! Our pets are part of our family and if we go to you is because we expect you to provide a good service and not mistreat our family members! P.s. One of my dogs after being with you would cry or yelp if anyone would try to touch her torso! Makes me wonder what abuse she endured during those hours! read more

This is my first time to use a Banfield pet hospital and will definately be using them again. I took my 3 month old Ginuea Pig in for a revisit for a problem she was having. Dr Robinson and his assistants were extremely kind and caring. They made sure that they answered all of my questions and I never felt like they were in a hurry or needed to be doing something else. My Ginuea pig is doing great. I would definately recommend them. read more

My normal vet office was closed so I brought my dog here when he licked some spots raw on his skin. The vet told me it was fleas despite the fact I told her there was no evidence of fleas on my dog, home, or yard. I spent weeks and a lot of money on various flea treatments with no improvement. When I finally gave up on the flea diagnosis, I went to my normal vet and learned it wasn't fleas and that the skin infection had turned to staph. The misdiagnosis by the vet at PetSmart has cost me a lot of money, but more importantly caused my dog to be in pain a lot longer than necessary. read more

If I hadn't decided to go to a different vet for a REAL exam (on the day she ended up passing), I never would have known what happened to her. We were long time clients of Rockwall. October 2015 our lab, Janie broke her leg on a Saturday morning. Couldn't get through to vet on phone because phones were down. Drove there, no one would come to car to help with getting dog to counter. Once we got to counter, had to wait 20 minutes while holding dog (she was 60-70 lbs at the time) before allowed back. Dog's leg was dangling this was an emergency yet they made us wait for others who had appointments to be seen. They took her back and kept her for 4 hours before telling us to drive to an Emergency Surgical vet in Garland. Will NEVER return to this location again. They are a basic vet, and if that's all you need they charge too much. Your paying for convenient hours. read more

Please do not EVER take your animals to any banfield! I took my cat here because she had stopped eating. The vet was so uncaring and rude. She only wanted to criticize us for not having her spayed. I have been planning on doing that but this was not the issue at the moment and she is an indoor only cat. Last I checked it's my personal choice to begin with and not against the law like she was pretty much acting! The staff at the desk were ok but the rest were rude and didn't care about my cat either! And they kept her for 6 hours to do an x-ray and blood work and charged about 80 more than they originally had said. I still have no idea on what! And this was after the free office visit. I complained and they called me but that was pretty pointless because they just defended her. After that I went and read reviews on banfield and wow! I feel so horrible that I ever dropped more poor cat off there! It's pretty much animal abuse and I have no idea how this place stays open! We were treated pretty much the same way as everyone else has said but I'm thankful we got out only spending about $400 and my cat alive! Although I'm pretty sure she did get ear mites! Considering she's indoor only and wouldn't have exposure any other way. This vet claimed my cat would "probably be dead by the end on the week"... From the moment we walked in before an blood work or ANYTHING was done I was told to google this! The lady that called about my complaint said "a lot of times vets will tell you to google illnesses". I've been to vets in the past and never have I been told to do this. She didn't even try to explain anything. And when you go to the dr do they start out telling you that you may have a disease that will kill you within the week before going over all other possibilities first???? My sister also had taken a puppy here for a simple surgery that he ended up dying from complication. I had no idea it was this same place before I went or I wouldn't have gone there. I was also told by the guy at the desk the vet "doesn't like working with cats". This place is so ridiculous!!! Luckily my cat started feeling better on her own because they gave me no ideas other than that one specific disease as to what it could have been. Please take your animals somewhere else!! The "pet hospital" part of their name is misleading! This is NOT a hospital. It's basically a rip off shot clinic and they have no idea what they're talking about. read more

I would not recommend this place for exotic pets. On friday 10/25/13 I took my chameleon to the exotic pet vet. They told me she ate something and could not pass it. She was clearly not well at the vet office. Problems breathing (she was opening her mouth) and very lathargic! He told me she was just upset thats why she was opening her mouth. We were there 2 hours! She was scheduled for surgery that Monday. 10/28. The next day on Saturday she took a turn for the worst. I called the vet he doesn't work on weekends! Which is ridiculous! I found an emergency hospital in grapevine so my husband and I are rushing her there. They figured out what was wrong within 10 mins! She was egg bound. Keep in mind she is still so very ill can't breath, she was literally dying on the way to the hospital. We had decided we would do anything to save her. She passed away within minutes of prepping her for surgery. I am devastated! I feel that the vet at banfield didn't think she needed immediate surgery. I think he did not care and for someone to say she's just mad when she was opening her mouth obviously doesn't know about chameleons! Believe me.... You would know if she was mad. They hiss at you. I knew he was wrong but he is supposed to be the professional so I just trusted in him.... Big mistake!! I had her for 2 years. I miss her every day. I just didn't want anyone else to go thru the same thing I did. Take your exotic pets somewhere else! read more

Hoesntly deserve no stars. I have been a member of banfield for 8 years, what I would consider a loyal customer. My 9 year old golden retriever just under went a pretty major surgery and Not once did the actual dr come out to speak with me. They have no on call dr to contact in case of an emergency, you are expected to take to an emergency clinic where they will not cover any fees. My dog has two large incisions where masses were removed and only medication given was rymidal which is equivalent to our ibprophen. Anyways I took off work three days to closely watch my dog after surgery and noticed the incision seemed to be pulling apart ( keep in mind the only activity he had was going outside to go potty) took my dog back to vet and all they did was stitch it back ( not staples) as soon as I got home the incision was open again. Dog vomited four times and pooping liquid blood so I rushed to emergency clinic down the street to find out basically that dr Robinson (banfield vet) had stitched my dog back up over an infected wound. I am beyond pissed and this will not be the last time I express on this issue. I will be paying a visit to the dr tomorrow, canceling all services, protesting charges for the initial surgery, and reaching out to my lawyers for malpractice.
