I am very very happy to have found Dr. Avery, Dr. Stickney and Stonebridge. I don't have children of my own and my two kitties have been like my babies. My little one, Axl, has been sickly for awhile and after multiple visits to different vets I brought him here last week to try and get some answers. Very long and traumatic story short, Axl's gone to kitty heaven and I probably couldn't have made it through it without the love and support of Dr. Avery and Dr. Stickney, who was with us when we had to put him to sleep. I only got 9 months with Axl (19 years wouldn't have been enough with his sweet soul) and I know I will miss him deeply for a long time. Dr. Stickney let me cry like a baby and didn't rush us and made us feel like we were doing the right thing, no matter how bad it hurt. I swear, I believe good vets understand they are 60% for support of the pet and 40% for support of the pet parent, and Stonebridge gets this. I have found a new vet home in Rockwall (finally) and I'm so glad to have somewhere I trust to bring my furry loved ones. read more

I have been a client here for a while, and while the veterinary care itself is fine, the workplace environment is deeply concerning. During my last few visits, it was painful to watch how the senior, more established staff treated the newer, younger employees.Instead of guiding and supporting new team members, the older staff members are openly dismissive, cold, and borderline toxic to them. They act like highschool bullies. I have personally witnessed uncomfortable tension in the clinic, including senior staff speaking down to newer employees right in front of clients. It creates an incredibly unprofessional, stressful atmosphere not just for the staff, but for the pets and owners visiting. A clinic's culture trickles down into everything they do. If management doesn't address how the older staff treats newcomers, they are going to lose great talent and clients who don't want to support a toxic workplace. I hope leadership takes a hard look at their internal culture, and the front desk staff. read more

Took my 3y/o pet to the vet. Let it be abundantly clear I was never warned that the procedure I dropped her off for could kill her. My pet died from the procedure, NOT the reason I took her in. I was never warned it would be a possibility. I didn't think I had to say goodbye. They then took 1 month to give me the ashes. I'm devastated I wasn't prepared and it never crossed my mind once my pet could die in their care. I never said bye. I was so happy dropping her off thinking I'd get a phone call within a few hours to pick her up. read more

Took my Green-Wing Macaw in to Dr. Pam. This was our first visit to see them because our other aviary vet retired. We have had her for 26 years now. Took her In because I thought she had broken a wing, come to find out it was just twisted in a very odd shape. Dr Pam untwisted it. I was very impressed with the office. Staff was very friendly and courteous. I drove 11/2 hours to see her. When I got there they told me that they hadn't scheduled enough time for the visit , so when I explained that I lived such a long distance she worked me in. Glad I have found a new bird vet. I have 2 more, a blue and gold (26 yrs)and a hyacinth (24yrs). read more

Avoid Dr. Gena Viator DVM. She was so negligent with her care of my dog that I had to take him to other veterinarians to save his life. His initial injury was minor, but her incompetent care resulted in life threatening results. Her grave errors were confirmed by multiple veterinarian experts, and took months and thousands of dollars to correct to save my pet. She had other disciplinary actions against her by the State Board, one that resulted in death of a pet (see photo). She has bounced around from Haltom City, Saginaw and Keller to Rockwall to avoid accountability. read more

I took my dog to Stonebridge Tuesday evening for an emergency. They were the only place open, so I didn't have much of a choice. My dog had her blood taken and had an x-ray done, then I was told my dog just had gas, given medicine, and given low fat food. All good. I was told, if my dog wasn't better by the next day, to bring her back. I brought her back, but no new tests were run, and basically all that was done was an injection for nausea and an enema to help with a BM, and I was told I would hear from a radiologist about her x-rays in a day or two. Anyone could have looked at my dog when I picked her up and known she absolutely was not healthy and was not ready to go home. Because she kept throwing up, even after the nausea injection, I called the doctor to check back in. She seemed very annoyed that I was calling since she had already talked to me. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. She also told me that the nausea injection takes a while to kick in. It turns out, that isn't true. I ended up calling her actual vet (at VCA in Rockwall) and was told I needed to immediately bring her in to be looked at because there was no reason she needed to be throwing up still. We rushed her over, and that is where she began experiencing rectal bleeding, so they referred us to an emergency room, which is where my dog still is three days later. I have not heard one word from Stonebridge since. Not checking on her, not telling me what the radiologist said about her x-rays, absolutely nothing. Radio silence. Stonebridge has shown that they are just in business to get animals in and out, but they don't actually care about the well-being of the animals, or the intuition from the pet's owner that something is not right with the animal. I was clearly correct in believing she wasn't healthy enough to be home, and yet I am the one who was treated like I was crazy. However, I have heard from VCA checking back in. The people at VCA were kind, compassionate, and totally understanding. They actually did not charge us for our visit because it was so quick and they could tell we were in distress trying to get my dog taken care of. If I could give Stonebridge 0 stars, I would. However, that wasn't an option, so I had to put one. read more

I read the reviews and got hesitant but I can say that my experience with them went great the tech was nice and helpful the doctor was also great they answered any questions I had and gave me all the information I needed. I just bought a rabbit and went in for our first check up, based off of my experience I would recommend anyone to go and have them help your pet feel better! read more

This review is based on one experience but it's also the most significant experience I've had with this clinic. Our dogs are established patients and have been seen here for all their medical needs. All of those experiences were fine. However, on Friday I rushed my dog to Stonebridge Hospital. I ran in, with her in my arms and told them it was an emergency, she needed help and to please help me. The receptionist told me to sit down and they would be right with me. I did. I was obviously distraught and the staff proceeded to joke and laugh with each other while I sat there, in tears. Their lack of empathy was shocking. 10 min in, I asked if I should go to another hospital. They said no, the doctor would see her soon. I waited and waited (20-30min) while I heard the vet conversing with other patients in adjacent rooms. It was obvious she was in NO hurry to get to me. As I saw my dog's condition worsening, I knew I had to get her help ASAP. I stood up, carried her in my arms and hurried out the door. I said, "She needs help now. I'm taking her somewhere else." I heard someone say, "Ok. Bye!" I took her to Premier Vet Care Animal Clinic in Rowlett. They took care of EVERYTHING. Read my Yelp review for them-they were amazing! Friday evening my husband received a phone call from our Stonebridge Vet. She apologized and stated she had NOT BEEN INFORMED I was there with an emergency. Dr. Ali and her staff at Stonebridge Veterinary clinic are great. Although the circumstances we had to bring our old man dog (16 years old) in were rough, Dr. Ali and her staff were so supportive and helpful. Dr. Ali listened to our wants and worked with us to provide the best treatment for our old man without trying to push unnecessary test on him. This is the first time I had a vet actually listen to my thoughts and work with me on my wants for my dog instead of trying to push services on me. Being a new resident to Texas I have found so much comfort in having this team care for my Shih Tzu - whether it is general vet concerns, boarding, grooming or a bloody nose - Dr Ali is amazing - she knows how important fur babies are to their mommas and she truly cares about their well being as well as the owners. When this furmomma panicked over a bloody nose she had me bring him in immediately and even postponed her own schedule to examine my baby to make sure it wasn't anything critical. The vet techs and front desk ladies are all amazing and show true concern for the animals. Being a protective momma I was very picky in choosing a vet and I am very thankful every single day I found this team - they are amazing!! read more

Negative and hostile front desk employee. Said my dogs name wrong more than twice, and was so rude she was almost hostile. This office is unprofessional, does not pay attention to what it is doing, and when I picked my dog up for some simple xrays, he was so sedated he could barely stand. He was sick the rest of the night. There is no need to sedate a dog that heavily for xrays, not to mention they charged me 50 dollars for that sedative. This place is looking to make money. STAFF: Very professional and friendly. All the vet techs and front desk people are always smiling and you can tell they truly enjoy their job. The actual Vets are ridiculously cool. I have seen 3 out of the 4. All of them are so knowledgable. I worry about every little thing and I will call in about EVERYTHING. They tell me simple tips and advice I can do at home without spending my time AND money going up there. Also, when you walk in, they always offer you a cold beverage which is so refreshing after hassling my dog in the door in Texas' heat. FACILITY: I have never, ever seen any type of mess here. Super clean and smells fresh. PROCEDURES: My dog hates strangers except these guys. I don't know if they took a Pet Whispering class in school or whatnot- but these are the ONLY strangers by dog will let near her. They are very gentle and calm in everything step they take. The vets explain everything very clearly and in "english" if you know what I mean. Also, they are very efficient. This isn't like most places where you spend the afternoon at the vet. I am usually in and out within an hour, including waiting on vaccines and tests results. Also, nail clippings are speedy. They offer grooming and boarding as well but I have not done either aside from quick nail trimmings. I would never even considering going somewhere else. This place is the best in Rockwall. Warning. All the negative reviews are exactly what I had to endured with my puppy. They overcharged on procedures that are unnecessary and shaved my dog without authorization while racking up a 60 dollars bill to shave one paw, the shave was done so vigorously that my puppy's wound got even worst. Doctor prescribed medications that are half of the strengths than other vets and after two weeks of care, my puppy remains ill. Called and ask for refill...wait for it...of course they ask you to bring in the dog again to charge extra on top of the useless shots and pills he was given. Took him to another doctor in Dallas and he was immediately prescribed with correct pills instead. Minus all the shots and spray/shampoo (don't buy anything vers trying to sell you for $30+ when it cost $1 at cvs! Do not let your pet suffer by going to doctors who has nothing to give but everything to take from you. They have no morales. Make no mistakes there are a lot of vets like this, be careful and share your experiences. We as pet owners should help each other fit the sake of our pets lives and well-being. Update: Thanks for responding. I wish your CSR department had noted that I had preemptively called and left a message with updated card information prior to you trying to run the card and before I left the country the following week. Unfortunately, instead of taking the message and updating my records when you next opened, the employee immediately called me back to tell me you weren't open and that I needed to call back on Monday. I explained that I was going to be out of the country and unable to call then, which is why I LEFT A MESSAGE. You know, for you to listen to and check when you were OPEN. Regarding the expired refill, yes, after your staff failed to get me the reminding two pills on my valid prescription I was told by the staff that they would indeed send one in November since they bungled the prior two. Not something I requested but something that was offered. I don't consider the November pill as part of one of the reasons to leave your practice. Instead, it was the culmination of several refill requests being forgotten by your staff until the dog was simply out of a maintenance drug (time and time again, despite two week early refill requests) and the insane mishandling of the heart worm preventative. I felt as if I was having to manage your staff for you. Not something I should have to do at the Stonebridge price point. I hope you are able to correct your horrible office management issues for the benefit of your remaining clients. read more

Beware! Our dog was neutered by a vet (11/27) here that we never met who used a non-preferred procedure and now (18 days later) the wound continues to remain open, infected and has not healed! Poor communication among office staff led to this--we established care with Dr. Ollie and wanted her to do the procedure. They allowed another vet to operate without informing us beforehand. Extremely scary and sad for our suffering pet--no resolution from the office staff. Please take caution! read more

My elderly dog has been here multiple times over the last couple of years - there is always a different vet and it seems the good ones don't stay long. The last visit was supposed to be for an annual physical and Dr Ali didn't even use the otoscope to check her ears, merely lifted the flap and said they look okay. The dog had lost a lot of weight and they weren't even concerned. Now 3 months later she is "a skeleton with fur" according to her new vet and most likely has cancer. If you have plenty of time to sit and wait and only want mediocre care, then this place is okay. If you have an emergency or a really sick pet, go somewhere else. read more

I recently moved from Dallas and needed a vet for my 5 cats and 2 dogs. After researching all of the close vets in the area I settled on Stonebridge. The facility is lovely. It's bright, clean and very professional. The front desk staff is friendly and chipper. Both of the women I've met are cheerful and very nice. This is a huge plus. They also seem to love animals. My 4 year old heeler was just spayed here and it couldn't have gone better! The vet techs and doctors are so nice and seem very knowledgable. My dog also had an ear infection and it is clear now. My dog loves everyone at this vet office which is also a plus. Stonebridge is comparable in price to Dallas area vets and they take Care Credit. One thing to note: the vet did not try to up sell me or even sell me their brand of allergy meds for my dog. This was so refreshing! The staff honestly loves animals and you can tell. It's not all about the dollar. I love our new vet and will recommend them to everyone! read more

My husband and I just moved to Garland a few months ago and haven't found a family vet as of yet. We were in need of a place to board our dog, so she stayed at the other location (on Chiesa Rd.) for one evening. The employees were super easy to work with, and our dog (who can be a bit of a pill) seemed to really like them as well. Pricing for boarding was on par with other facilities that we know, but this was a much better deal simply because it is SUPER nice! I will say, though, that we looked into other services, such as teeth cleaning for our dog, yearly exams and vaccs for both our dog and cats, and spay for a cat...WOW their pricing was extremely high. (I was a vet assistant in college so I have a decent idea of what these things should cost according to what the process is typically like...they genuinely seemed to be ripping people off, and I'm sure its in order to pay for the nice facility.) So, we'll likely use them again for boarding, but they'll not ever be our family vet. read more

Our lab mix was in very bad shape recently; she wouldn't eat and was extremely lethargic. Our past vet told us nothing was wrong and there was nothing he could do or think of for our dog, not the news you like to hear after waiting for 2 hours in a cramped office only to see the doctor for ten minutes. Dr. Avery and Dr. Robbins did a wonderful job when we took our dog to them(on a Sunday by the way), they ran some tests and discovered she was severely anemic and quickly put her on an IV and began a dose of steroids and antibiotics. Today she is back to normal and doing fine, thanks to Dr. Avery and Dr. Robbins. It's scary to think where our dog would be if we hadn't taken her there and heeded the advice of our previous vet. The hours of operation at this place are awesome; they are open late every day and open on Sundays. No more taking off work to get our dogs checked out. They also take appointments which makes planning around a busy schedule much easier. This also avoids having to get to the vets office at the crack of dawn only to wait an hour or more to see the vet. Their pricing is fair; they are not the cheapest in town but also not the most expensive either. For the care they provide and the amenities their office offers they are priced very well. In my opinion, they offer the best total cost of ownership in town and I will be using Stonebridge as my primary veterinarian going forward. read more

We took our very sick, 7 year old dog, Sunny, to 2 different vets. Neither vet actually explained everything to us so that we could make Informed decisions. By the time we found Stonebrook, the answers were too late. We so appreciated the time all three Vets took to thoroughly explain to us what the tests (the Other vets had done) meant and what the positives and negatives would have been of the different treatments. Having all the information made it easier to do the right thing for him. We didn't have to wonder if we would regret putting him down. All the Stonebridge staff members were so kind and shared in our sadness. We are now Stonebridge for life-ers, and tell everyone we can. read more

Very professional and an extremely nice facility. Unfortunately our first dealing with them was when I had to have my old friend put down. They were extremely nice and I couldn't have had a better experience for such a sad day (unless we had done it at home). They took him in the back for a few minutes to put in the IV. They then took us back into a nice small room that felt like a home. There we said our goodbyes and the staff took care of everything for us. Have taken Charlie to both the Rockwall and Rowlett locations for grooming, boarding, and routine care. Both locations are always clean and welcoming (for me at least... This needs a negative rating for this one... Had an appointment with Kurt Avery on a Saturday afternoon with my dog. She was not acting like herself. Had to insist on in house bloodwork, mr avery informed me that he didn't have time to do that, he had other things to do. He did though have time to run a fecal & urinalysis that was not authorized. Said my dog wasn't sick & to come back the next week if she wasn't better. He did finally do the in house bloodwork. I had asked for this at the beginning of my appointment. Bloodwork did show that there was a problem with my dog, but again he wasn't concerned & didn't have time to deal with it. Reached one of my regular Drs that night, he was very concerned with the lab results & her symptoms. Told me what to do & watch for. We were ok until the next afternoon. Rushed to an EC where the Drs looked at her, the bloodwork results & her symptoms & said she was a very ill dog & were shocked we had been told otherwise by mr Avery. Our dog had to be euthanized at the EC. I'd not trust mr Avery to trim nails... read more
