We had to make the imposible decision to put one of our fur babies to sleep and Dr. Chitwood and Mark were amazing. They let us have the last appointment of the day so we wouldn't feel rushed. They were patient, professional and sympathetic. They allowed us all the time we needed and really took care of us. I can't thank them both enough for making the hardest day better. I do not recommend! Last year we brought our sweet Luna in for a hurt leg and got berated for her being overweight. Instead of checking her thyroid my kids got yelled at by the vet and they put her in a diet of proplan dog food. This year when we brought her back for another leg issue we again got berated and finally after listening to me explain what I fed her and that she was walked regularly they finally took her blood to test for a thyroid issue and low and behold she had an almost non functioning thyroid! Sadly they didn't do any additional tests and she died a week later from a tumor on her spleen that burst. Horrible vets. Don't go there!! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Had an appointment at 10am, no other customer was in the waiting room or the appointment rooms. No surgeries going on. I was left waiting with my 2 pets. At 10:10 I asked if I was going to be seen. I was informed by the front desk that they were working on getting someone into the room to see us. 10 minutes later and I left. read more

... Worst communication service. My darling has been sick for a few days. Starting Friday morning at 10am, we took her to Southfork where they told us she has a 103 fever. We had to leave her at the clinic for what was supposed to be an hour as they were waiting for the ultrasound machine. After 4 hours with still no phone call, I reached out to get an update. They then told me they were backed up and Dr. would be seeing her soon. An hour later we finally get an update that she needed an immediate surgery to clear the infection. Great. We go ahead and approve what is needed for the surgery to happen today. By this time it is 3pm. An hour and a half later after getting the run around from them due to their previous surgeries running late, we are told the Dr. would NOT be able to perform her surgery today and to bring her back at 8am Saturday morning. We were told our bill which a deposit will be made at drop off, the procedure, and the aftercare. Aftercare included her NEEDING to be watched at the hospital for 3 DAYS to make sure the infection cleared post surgery. Perfect. We verify that our family friend will be the one to drop her off as we had prior engagements Saturday morning but will be there to pick her up Tuesday morning when she can be discharged. Everyone agreed to this including the Dr., front staff, receptionist, nurses, and my family. Saturday morning comes around and now The bill is due in full and She will have to be picked up after the surgery because the office is closed on Sundays. We are first time pet owners. We have advised that we will approve anything they need to get her the best care. WE ARE NOT DOING HER AFTERCARE AT HOME IN HER CONDITION. Why was this not communicated to us FRIDAY after being there from 10am-6pm. We wasted an ENTIRE DAY that could have been spent getting my baby surgery because they wanted their money. Poor communication. You say you've practiced for 13 years but this is unacceptable. We will be taking her elsewhere from now on. read more

We are just devastated..... Our sweet beautiful Cat Jane is no longer with us. She was pregnant with 4 kittens. We brought her to the vet after labor stopped. The Dr gave her not 1,2 or 3 injections but 5 with no progress of labor from the first. She ended up taking her in for a c section. (Kittens were still moving) Kittens were not able to breathe. (We feel possibly because Mom was given too much Anastasia and potocin) I sent her records to another Dr and was told the maximum was generally 4-6 units. Jane was given 18 units and had a uterine tear. She came out very lethargic. They told me that was normal. They released her directly after she came out of survey. (She was also fixed) I called the vet several times with no improvement. They said she just went through major surgery and what she was going through was normal. The next day no improvement and was told, it was to be expected after major surgery. I brought her back to the Dr. the following morning. Her tempature was low and Her Calcium low. She shortly passed. I tried calling to get her Anastasia records at both clinics and no one would answer my calls. I was later texted asking me not to call again and the owner would call me by the end of the day. Still no calls from the owner. Given the sircumstancis I felt calling was the right thing to do. The next day I went to pick up her Anastasia records and was told by M it wasn't there and brought to the other clinic. I went to the other clinic and they called South Fork. The lady told M that there would be no reason for the records to be there as the procedure was not done there. About an hour later the records appeared. It made me suspect they were done after the fact. At this point I have yet to file a complaint with The Medical Board of Veterinarians or file suit. Pending the out come of how this is handled. We are very much mourning our sweet beautiful CFA registered persian. I believe the Dr. is mornful.... read more

Some how he tore the nail to his dew claw, and with a call they had him in with-in the hour. they've been very diligent, informative and clear about what is happening. I am glad that I chose this vet, as their whole staff are friendly, caring, and professional. The veterinarian and vet tech were both very thorough and provided me with a lot of helpful information regarding the health of my dogs. There are no words to describe how terrified me and my husband were when our cat Timmy got sick. We came home from out of town and he was completely lethargic. We went to the emergency vet at 11pm and didn't leave until 3am. After the $900 emergency vet bill (for 4 hours of IV) he was no better. We had to take him home that morning, but then he started declining rapidly the next morning so we rushed him to South Fork Animal Clinic. This group could not be more amazing! They nursed our baby back to health and treated us like they really cared about him. It was perfect! They kept him overnight for a couple of days, sent us pics of his progress, let us visit him, and helped us create a plan going forward to keep him healthy. It is hard to write a review when you are so heartbroken and devastated over the loss of a pet who was your best friend, so loyal and so sweet. I rescued her 9 years ago after 3 -4 years of abuse and neglect and she never left my side. She was not feeling well for only a week and then she stopped eating on Friday and by Monday she had labored breathing. I called my vet and begged them to see her on the condition that I could be with her but they said no so I called Southfork Animal Hospital and explained that I needed her to be seen but that I just couldn't leave her. they were so kind and empathetic and saw me within the hour. They explained everything to me sometimes more than once so that I would understand. Unfortunately she was in severe renal failure and passed away that day. I just want them to know how much I appreciate everyone there. If I could I would give them 100 stars! read more

I trust Dr. Chalkley with all of our pets....she is the kindest most caring vet out there. Takes the time to explain everything in detail to me so I can understand what is going on with my Mellie. My girl was born with what we thought was a liver shunt-it would have cost a fortune and most likely her life had I not consulted with Dr. Chalkley. She knew right away what was wrong (we confirmed with blood test) that it was a certain disease that malteses get. Called microdysplasia,anyway she is 10 years old today!! Another vet wanted to put her down :( She also had an infection on her foot that we went to dermatologist for that no one could figure out. IT was seriously amazing, Dr. Chalkley said for her to take a Bravecto pill...I really thought that's nuts because its for fleas....well..guess what it worked.! I don't have children and Mellie is that child for me and I could never say enough good things about doc and her team. I even have a friend drive in from Highland Park to see them.
