Emergency visit to RUV on Sunday evening with my senior kitty Sophie. She had not eaten or used the litter box in 3 days and was very lethargic. Christina greeted me and kept me informed of the Dr availability. Although the wait was long, Dr. Lemelli did a thorough exam of Sophie and determined she had a UTI. They gave her several antibiotics and referred me to my regular vet for a further check on her kidneys. Everyone here is extremely professional and compassionate and explained everything to me in the process. They even gave me a blanket when I was chilly! Last minute need for my dog who got hurt. The staff was so sweet, kind and attentive. The receptionist explained the initial cost and process. The nurse was very gentle and caring as well as the Vet. I previously left a 1 star review based on not being able to have my pet seen on 3 separate occasions. Not 1 time, but 3!! The reason being because they didn't have a Vet or they were too busy. I received an email from the Vet (posted below) that because of my negative review, they will not provide services for any of my pets. It's seems pretty petty of Dr. Lomeli to fire me due to my negative, HONEST review. I thought Yelp was a review site to share our experience. It's not like I was bashing the business or we had some sort of huge issue. I should be able to share my honest review without be worried about retaliation. I found it very frustrating and stressful that when my pet was in need of urgent care, that Rockwall URGENT Vet was unavailable. And again, on 3 separate occasions. I must have missed the national announcement that there is a Vet shortage. How was I suppose to of known that? Shame on your Dr. Lomeli. So now, the next time my pet has an urgent issue, I'm going to have to drive 20-30 minutes to get him seen. Which can mean all the difference in the outcome. So my wife took my puppy who had parvo, which they knew called before hand, still she waited for 30 minutes to get her seen. When asked for a one night stay they quoted 3000$ which was inapplicable seems the visit alone was 500$. So we took her home and have been nursing her. My wife also explained that there was another puppy in the house which was a yorkie and he got the virus as well. They required a visit for him to get probiotics and anti nausea meds (another 500). When called to see if we could get any additional help we were told we would have to restart the process again for a simple bag of iv for my puppy which they already had seen. Well beyond another 500. So yeah this place sucks in my opinion. My family and family friends have been working in the vet field my whole life which is how we are keeping her afloat. When did the vet profession become so money hungry and not to save the animals y'all apparently care for so much. Not to include I'm a disabled veteran which the prices above where with my "15% off" this puppy was going to be my next service dog I trained to help myself with my own hindrances in life. Tell the vet to get some people skills! After waiting 3 hours, patiently, he comes out and tells me they need to sedate my dog and do x-rays. When I asked how much longer he started swinging his arms around like look in the room! I had been looking at that room for three hours and I knew exactly what was left in the ER! And what was left, and I may say, I was there before the ones left got there, 2 had ear infections and the other had gotten into a scuffle with another dog and had a hole in his tongue! My dog had been hit by a cat and had a broken leg! I was patient as the ones before me did not get to leave with their pets, and my heart went out to them! But when the vet acted like I should be happy he was finally talking to me and he was doing me a favor, nope! 300 dollars. 100 dollars an hour and I left not knowing what if anything was wrong with my dog! She was given pain shot and meds! And I left! I was over it! Especially when the receptionist thought she was being slick and took the dog that had a hole in his tongue to see the people in the back and all the sudden the owner was in a room!!!! read more

Let me begin by saying that just because the kids I'm taking here have fur, that doesn't mean I care any less for them than my two legged, non-furry child. I do my research and I am very particular about who is caring for my family, right down to the receptionist! I have had to take my oldest cat here for emergency surgery due to melanoma of the eye. He was fine when I left town for a family funeral, but after being gone for two months, he had a drastic change. My normal vet, Dr Desiree Poole of Wildflower Mobile Vet, Who is AWESOME, recommended Dr Lomelli. In fact she called ahead and sent in all my boys info. I did do research though and I had a good feeling. I called, did the paperwork over the internet and sent a security payment. They called, let me know exactly when to bring him, and after I dropped him off they said they would keep me updated and give me a heads up as to when he would be ready. I figured I would get the "he did fine. You can pick him up at this time". Boy was I wrong!!! From the moment they put hands on him to start vitals they notified me, notified me periodically throughout the surgery, and let me know he did great and was in recovery. Told me when I could pick him up. When I picked him up, they thoroughly explained everything including my home care directions. They called, emailed, texted. THIS TEAM IS BEYOND AWESOME!!! They loved on my boy and made me feel so good about my choice in accepting my choice in Dr Lomelli and her team. The next day I received a phone call to make sure he was ok. I had a few questions a few times during his recovery and they were Johnny-on-the-Spot in answering. The facility is clean, faces are smiling, and Dr Lomelli is a true gem!!! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this sweet, caring, loving woman that has a heart so big I don't know how it doesn't burst! She truly cares and loves your fur babies just like you do! I have had to go back with my same old boy and as soon as we walked in, they all knew him. I would, and have, recommended this Urgent Care to many people! Please! Don't ever question it! My oversized lab, Betty, was hit by a truck as she was chasing it, her fault but devastating. Luckily I had Rockwall Urgent Vet refrigerator magnet and called right way. I was able to bring her in immediately. they do triage like at a human hospital and she was brought in right way. exam, X-ray, ultrasound showed nothing broken or bleeding internally and she got off lightly. They also took great care of me- concerned about my wellbeing, explained step by step how they were helping Betty, and showed me estimates of all costs during the proc as including the medication she would need. Of course I also got follow up phone calls the next day. I hope you don't have an emergency to need them, but you are in good hands if you do. read more

My poor female dog just had a c section performed, 10 days later her stitches completely came undone that were suppose to dissolve. Her spleen was out and her intestines as well. We came to Rockwall to see if they could assist us with the emergency situation we had. Unfortunately the vet saw this as an opportunity to price gouge and take advantage of us... they originally told us cost would be between 800-1200. Minutes later they came back and told us cost could be between 6k- 12k. This is absolutely ridiculous and I wanted to share my story so people knew this vet cares more about your dollars than your actual pet. Wouldn't recommend for emergency to anyone. They recommended we put her down since we didn't want ti pay. This place will kill your pet. As we were leaving unfortunately another lady was walking out with her pet in bag. Smh. great experience from the time I called! the receptionist communicated that they had a couple emergencies ahead of me, so the wait time could be longer than usual. I went ahead & brought my dog in and they were able to give her attention pretty quickly. the entire staff was super kind and communicative about next steps and charges as we went along. they were able to get to the cause of the issue very quickly and gave me clear instructions on how to care for her over the next day or so. I was very pleasantly surprised about the amount of time we spent there, the charges were reasonable and, like I said, the entire staff was kind and great to deal with. I went in at 9pm and wasn't seen until 11pm but I was okay with waiting. My dog had bloody diarrhea and this team was so sweet and supportive. They made sure I knew the wait time & was able to see me before they closed. An exam here is $160 which may be pricey, however, for the late hours and care I received the price is fairly reasonable. They followed up with me and made sure my pickle is okay. Highly recommend but they may have only one doctor so the wait time may be long or you may not be seen and be sent to another 24/7 urgent care. 10/10 service , 10/10 staff. read more

We could not have been more pleased with the care our dog received at Rockwall Urgent Care after he sustained an injury in his neck. They were very professional, and yet they showed much love and concern toward our dog and for us as well and our concern for him. Don't know where to start....Dr. Lomeli and her staff are the most caring group I have ever experienced. The love they showed for our German shepherd (Sebastian) after being run over was unbelievable. They got him back to health quickly and they communicated every few hours while he was in the hospital. I wish I could give a million stars for my visit tonight. I think I called 3 times and every single time Nancy was so compassionate and patient with me. The girl who came to my car so nice and the vet explained everything thoroughly when we were all done. I am always so skeptical of ER vets because in the past it has felt like the ones I have been to just charged an arm and a leg for nothing. these guys could have charged me for X-rays and everything else but instead they did an exam and then came to the conclusion that X-rays weren't needed and my pup just needed rest. I wish more vets were honest like this instead of trying to squeeze more money out of everyone. Hope I don't have to come back for a pet emergency but if I do it will be here! My dog was pretty sick. It was Sunday afternoon and our vet was closed. Vomiting and diarrhea. We brought him in and was admitted and put on an IV. Three separate times during the consult I was asked for my credit card for additional charges. The following morning I was told that it appeared he had a foreign body causing a blockage (she said she did not see one, but felt there was one) and need surgery, $6,000-8,000 exploratory surgery. She said she didn't see it going well. I told her our other dog was now sick. I picked up my dog and transported him to our vet in Allen. He did an x-ray and did not see a foreign body. Long story short, both dogs were admitted by their regular vet and treated for a gastrointestinal infection. There was no blockage. They are both home now and doing well. It's tough to find a vet after hours. I will make sure I have one in place. This was a costly experience. Not just monetarily, but the emotions of being told your dog needs unnecessary surgery that I could not afford. It was heartbreaking. read more

Took our sweet dog to be seen in this office for a Sunday evening appt. First had to pay $153.78 to even get the appt and we take our dog in and he is scared but doing ok, then an employee comes out and scares our dog. They will not let you go back with your pet they want to see them I "private". Then they talk to you. They say they treat your pet like their own. Dr. Lomeli did not even examine our dog, and those were her words. as she did not want him to get "stressed out". She could see that he had a toenail problem. His toenail was practically ripped off and she didn't want to stress him. The staff were ok- no one was really friendly and got a weird vibe from the staff and the Dr. Lomeli when you asked questions. They might have been ok if you asked nothing and just let them do whatever. The dr is rude and very immature. I will definitely not be taking ANY of our animals there again. read more
