The fast pick-up for carryout and friendly service are consistent here. If they're busy at first, it may take multiple calls before reaching them, but the food is always worth the effort. Experiment with different levels of spiciness as it significantly alters the flavor. The food itself is delicious and fulfilling, but it's the sauces that truly elevate the experience. Absolutely in love with this place. The Thai steak is my favorite thing on the menu. Always order it medium rare, medium spice with extra veggies. Delicious. The bbq chicken, fresh rolls, crispy chicken rolls, curries, and pad Thai are also soo flavorful. I've never had a dish that I didnt like. I use to live in Florida and every time I came home to Michigan this is my first stop. If this place ever closed down I would seriously go through all the stages of grief over and over. I have been to Bangkok 96 a handful of times over the past 5 years, and I adore it! The interior has remained consistent over the years. I went in for lunch time, meaning I got to enjoy their sweet and sour soup. I would also recommend getting the thai iced tea, as it is so amazingly sweet & refreshingly original, a very sweet chai taste. I personally did not enjoy the beef pad thai, but the waitress did mention that chicken was the most popular. So that was my fault. Overall, the food was clean, delicious, and authentic. The food is seasoned and spiced to perfection. They're also consistent with their food quality and presentation, which makes bringing guests to this establishment that much more appealing, as it's always a great experience. read more

They have the best Thai food in the area by far. The Pad Thai is some of the best I've ever had and their Bangkok 96 fried rice is amazing. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication they've provided with regards to reopening their dining room. They don't keep their website updated and their social media presence is poor. A large percentage of their lunch customers are Ford corporate employees and they are all working from home until 2022. I'm guessing that's why they are in no rush to reopen the dining room. I have been eating thai food both around the USA and several trips to Thailand. My 1st go to meal is chicken pad thai. I ordered it here and it didn't taste authentic at all. Definitely missing something and was of the least satisfying thai dishes that I have ever had. If you like a traditional pad thai dish I would order something else here. Food is always on point. Service is fantastic when dining in, and the atmosphere is like a happy family kitchen. Best Thai in Michigan! Genevieve is a genius in the kitchen. I have tried everything from her salads, Satay, Pad Thai (lunch and dinner version), Gang Gai, Tom Yum, hot and sour soup, Pad Prik, Fried Rice to Pad Krao Pao, Pho soup and everything is beyond tasty. I couldn't wait for the leftovers. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Michigan and my absolute favorite restaurant in Dearborn. If you go during the week get there by 11am or wait until the 2nd wave at noon. Fridays are busting out the door, that's when you should be prepared to put in an order if you are deadset on eating there. I am always determined to get my Thai there no matter how long the lines is. The food is just as tasty taken out. I try to go on Mon/Wed/Fri since they serve the hot and sour soup on those days, the lemon chicken is on Tue/Thu, still good however, but not as impressive as the hot and sour soup. It is hard to believe that I haven't written a review for this fabulous restaurant!! I have been loving the food here for 20 years. Years ago, I worked in this area and we ordered from here all the time. It was delicious then and still delicious now. The only difference is that the place has been remodeled and, most of the time, it is packed with happy patrons and people standing in-line to wait for a table. But, the service is quick and friendly and they know how to handle large crowds. The food comes out hot and just so good! Wonderful flavors, always fresh, large portions and their spice and flavor profiles are fantastic! Each dish is unique and the pad Thai is extraordinary, but so is everything else!! Visiting "Detroit" for only 1 night due to work and staying near the airport. This restaurant is somewhat close and I enjoyed my dinner. The staff was friendly and the kitchen was quick! I was probably in and out within 30 minutes. The food itself was good, but I've had better Thai food. The fried appetizer was pretty delicious, but I wouldn't recommended a spicy sauce of sort instead of the sweet. The pad see ew was also good. I was slightly disappointed in the amount of broccoli that came with the dish (not enough). The entre was also HUGE! Which for the price is a steal because you can easily split with someone else. I've been going here for over 10 years and it's always good. Pad sew ew is fantastic and so is the fried rice. Pad Thai is also great. I've tried almost all of the menu and I have never left disappointed. Their hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had, anywhere. Regardless of what you order, get it hot and with chicken. If you still have room afterwards, try the mango ice cream or a Thai iced tea. The iced tea is also good if you order hot spice: it cuts the heat quickly and helps reset the pallet. read more

That the only reason we keep coming back. I generally don't get the complementary soup, but heard it's very good. But no vegetarian alternative. Bummer. I have ordered different dishes. I would recommend the noodles or fried rice over the curries. Top of my list are "pud seewew" - excellent. Veggie fried rice with tofu. The spiny roll is decent. Nothing special. Yum - very tasty. I came here yesterday for the first time, someone had mentioned it to me so he and I went there for dinner. I don't get to Dearborn very often and I love Thai food, so I was eager to try Bangkok 96. I got there around 6:15pm (on a Sat. night) and it was packed! Very good sign. We ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer, and it came with two delicious sauces - one was a peanut sauce and one was a cucumber/sweet sauce, that was more liquid-y. It also came with a small hibachi grill which was cool, my parents and I used to do that when we had Chinese food but I hadn't done that for a while. The chicken skewers were in a batter which was different also, in the past I've had grilled chicken skewers with hibachi grills. I ordered the #9, I think, the Pad Prik, mild, and it came in a brown sauce with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and chicken (you can order chicken, beef, or seafood, I think). Very tasty and a HUGE portion, so at $9.99 that's a pretty good deal. They put some sort of flower veggie on it too which was interesting, it tasted like cucumber. I ate about half of my meal because the portion was so large and took half home for leftovers. Service was very good also. I'd definitely come here again when in the area. read more

Whenever we think Thai food, this would be the first restaurant that always come to mind. I've been coming here ever since my auntie took me here way back when I was a child. Any how,, this place is a true establishment for Thai food,, in fact if there is ever a better thai spot,, it would probably be from the people that spun this joint out. After all this time with Covid, this restaurant is still carry out only. If I met a friend for lunch and had to sit outside on the small patio. I ordered cashew chicken medium spicy, and while the food was good, the dish had no heat. I think there were four cashews in it. On a Friday night, the restaurant was full packed with first time and regular diners. Parking was tight, but won't take long for you to find a spot. There's a restroom at the back, 1 door per gender. They accept cash and credit card for payment. No free wifi. They have outdoor tables with umbrellas that look like a coconut hut. Very tropically creative :-). As you enter the restaurant, its interior is decorated with artistic wood carvings and statues. The silverware is elegantly wrapped in paper napkin. They provide a pitcher of iced water per table. It's a bit loud because of the music and the diners. The tables are not far apart, you could hear some free juicy gossip. Service was fast. The lady server was Thai, friendly and suggestive. We showed a picture of pho (posted by a fellow Yelper), she said it's not on the menu but they can cook it for you. The spice was mild, tasted really good and a-pho-dable at $9.95. One bowl is good for two hungry pho lovers. My husband ordered the mild chicken pad ped $9.95 It's not as flavorful as the pho. I would appreciate their pad ped if they thicken the coconut milk. The bell peppers on the dish were too much for me. I do like the serving size and presentation (vege carving). The dish comes with a bowl of steamed white rice. The thai ice tea was sweet and unique for $2.50. They served the tea in a goblet glass, added whip cream on top and decorated with a cocktail umbrella.
