I spent over $35 for a "Sesame Chicken COMBO." I also added three spring rolls & a TumYum soup. It _says it comes with Rice AND Veggies. So I go up there to inform them basically they said the photo from the hospital look like something I pulled off the internet and that the only way I could get a refund if I brought back the food my niece ate and got FOOD POISONING FROM and I said that was bad customer service they did not care , NO IM SORRY OR NOTHING . Met a coworker here for Thai food. It's a bit tough to find using GPS, but it's literally right next to Lowe's, so if you head there, you'll be at the restaurant. I ordered Drunken Noodles on the wait staff recommendation, and it was fantastic. Fantastic chewy noodles, excellent sauce, and tender pieces of chicken and vegetables. Would definitely order again! Staff was great. My only wish is that I could try a little cup of soup as an appetizer without spending an additional $5.25 on top of my $13.95 lunch portion noodle dish. Prices on the website (as of October 2024) also did not reflect prices on the menu in-person. Which isn't a huge deal, but be prepared to spend a bit more versus what they have on their website - for example, Drunken Noodles $10.50 on the website vs. $13.95 when ordering for pick-up or dine-in. read more

I ordered the curry yellow chicken and rice with Thai. The curry and potatoes were so salty that I couldn't finish it and there was less than 1/4 lb of chicken for a $15 dinner serving. The tea was not made in the traditional way using condensed milk and was lacking sweetness and tasted bland. This place just does things right! I had a fantastic chicken yellow curry. It was authentic and heavy on the tumeric as it should be. Many restaurants give you masaman curry when you order yellow curry. I like masaman curry, but when I order yellow curry, I want yellow curry not masaman curry. The flavor profiles are completely different. And so many times I am disappointed in the execution of this dish. Thank you Spicy Bangkok for doing it correctly. The dish was well-composed with chicken, onion and crispy potato slices. The crispy potatoes provided a nice textural component to the dish. Some restaurants will use boiled potatoes which works well, or half-fried potatoes which just soak up oil. I really like how Spicy Bangkok composes this dish. IMO, the best yellow curry around town. If you like yellow curry, give this dish a try. This is a VERY UNDERRATED restaurant. read more

I have ordered twice so far, for both lunch and dinner. My lunch order earlier this week was Drunken Noodles. PLENTY of noodles, veggies and chicken perfectly seasoned. Yesterday, I had a 3 course dinner...Tom Yum soup, spring rolls and Chicken Pad Thai. Everything was delicious. The service is highly attentive and focused on order accuracy. We ordered the Spicy Chicken, Orange Chicken, Crab Rangoon & the Chicken Crisp Rolls. Spicy Chicken had a bitter sour taste, but Orange Chicken had a worse taste that after 2 bites I end up not eating the rest. Ended up developing severe diarrhea that evening. The Chicken Crisp Rolls were under cooked, just by looking at them. The only thing that looked edible was the Crab Rangoons. Spending over $50 for food for 2 & consider it extremely over priced for the portions & let alone making you sick. Worst experiences in a Thai restaurant. Would not recommend this restaurant let alone feed the food to a living person or animal. Not sure why they have decent reviews. I think the Health Dept needs to inspect this place. read more

Love this new Thai place in Allen Park. There have been a lot of restaurants coming and going from this location in the last few years, but I hope this one stays permanently. It's been hard to find a good Thai place in the Dearborn area during the pandemic that actually offers curbside pickup, but Spicy Bangkok Cafe does. The service was very convenient, staff were polite and efficient, the order was prepared quickly, and everything came out exactly as ordered (a hard commodity these days!). But best of all, the food was fabulous. Portion sizes were very generous. My family will definitely be getting another meal or two out of the leftovers. We ordered a fresh roll with chicken, chicken satay, pineapple fried rice, peanut curry noodles and a bag of shrimp chips. It was hard to pick a favorite! The chicken satay was quite possibly the best I've ever had. One order included four large skewers with two containers of peanut sauce. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the peanut sauce was delicious. I would definitely order it again, and I don't normally say that about chicken satay. The fresh roll tasted like a crispy salad rolled up in a burrito. Personally, I didn't care for it as much as some of the other dishes. It's a bit bland, even with the sauce included. But there's absolutely no question that the ingredients were super fresh and the serving size was enormous, like two giant burrito shapes. The pineapple fried rice was delicious and flavorful and perfectly spiced at mild plus level. It had plenty of cashews and big chunks of chicken. The only improvement I would suggest would be to add a bit more pineapple. The serving size was enormous! Likewise the serving size for the peanut noodle dish was huge enough to feed multiple people with leftovers. This dish reminded me a lot of a more peanutty version of pad thai, and that's a good thing. I'd definitely order it again. Last but not least, the bag of shrimp chips we ordered was a hefty size for $2 and appeared pretty fresh. We're saving that one to go with homemade soup, so I can't speak to the taste yet. All in all, it was a very satisfying meal and I'm just over the moon that we have a delicious new Thai option nearby that is also offering curbside pickup. Tonight we ordered drunken noodles, chicken and the other just vegetable. Overall the food was tasty and good portions. The only complaint is that the chicken noodle didn't have much chicken, same with vegetable noodle. Both we asked for medium + spice level, one was no spice and the other was extra hot. I know my spice levels and it was almost inedible. To salvage we mixed the two together and the spice level was fine. I ordered online and picked up, timing was accurate. We've never had any bad meals here and they have always been pretty consistent overall. To add I don't usually order drunken noodles because it's usually a sweeter sauce, this was not and it was perfect. read more

In direct contrast to the negative reviews, I ordered two egg rolls and Basil Fried Rice with beef for takeout. The rolls were crisp and delicious (the next day) and, although the beef was a little chewy, the fried rice was tasty and I would order it again. I love that you can dine in here now. During Covid they were only doing carry out. Their portion sizes are humongous. I think the only item that needs some work is there wonton soup. I love this place! It's close to my home and I've been there 3 times in a 7-10 day stretch! Lol The food is tasty and is always hot when it arrives at the table. The spice levels are true and you can spice up your soup if you want to. I love the Tom Kha with added veggies and their curries haven't disappointed ever. There is room for larger groups to dine, a couple larger booths and the decor is very simple but nice. The place is very clean, even the facilities. I also fell in love with the lichee bubble tea with lichee gels, but the young lady who waited on me suggested the coconut- taro mix and that was equally delicious and creamy. I love this place. And the boba is great! It's now my go-to in this area for Thai food! The last time I wanted to place an food order they were super busy and told me it would be 1/2 hour wait. I was in the parking lot and needed to go home so I only ordered Boba Tea... I quickly realized that the young woman running register was also taking the orders, and cooking them! She was alone in the restaurant! There were four others waiting for their food, and Door Dash drivers also coming in to get food orders. She was happy and smiling and super polite despite the stress she was under. She never complained that she was doing it all alone either. She just kept going, with a great attitude. I ordered the three's company entree, sesame chicken, and chicken crispy rolls. The three's company was delicious, and my new favorite. It's 14.50, and comes with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, green onion, onion, straw mushroom, snow peas, bamboo shoots, bell pepper with brown sauce. I didn't like the sesame chicken it was tough, and chewy; it looked delicious though. The chicken crispy rolls was ok, but not something I'm getting again. We chose this restaurant because it had a 4.5 rating. The rating was totally inaccurate. Three of us ordered 3 different curry's, spring rolls, soup and salad. My husbands coconut soup didn't look like coconut soup and it made him sick. The spring rolls couldn't be chewed so we had to spit it out. The curries were all so salty that they were inedible. This was, by far, the worst Thai restaurant we have ever been to. We are visiting Detroit for an event so needless to say we will not be back. Horrible food!!!! read more

While I was there, I noticed a lot of carry-out business. I ordered Pad Ped, mild, no protein, with extra vegetables. It comes with white rice. This dish was delicious. It was cooked fresh with plenty of green peppers, onions, basil, water chestnuts, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots and my favorite, eggplant. For me, the portions were enough for me to take some home. I've only experienced their carryout service, as my first (and subsequent) trip was during COVID. The food has been quality each time. Pad Thai, spring rolls and crab Rangoon has been our go-to. Ordered the tofu drunken noodles spice level (hot) from door dash today and let me just say, one of the best tasting drunken noodles I've had in a long long time. They followed instructions, (asked for no bell peppers and to substitute with broccoli instead and for extra sauce) and they did not disappoint.
