I have been going here for years with my father. I have to say it is the best Chinese restrant I have ever ate at... and that's coming from a chinese girl herself. The food never fails and the couple who owns it are very nice. I brought my boyfriend with me a while back, and he was instantly impressed. The pot stickers are our favorite! They do take a while, but you know he makes them right on the spot. Another thing to try is their crispy fried chicken and string bean beef. Both amazing! If you live in Fairfield I suggest going to this little hole in the wall place, you will be amazed on the quality of food and the amazing sauces. read more

Nice little mom and pop Chinese restaurant that has been in business for many years. Food is yummy and affordable. I get the lunch special which is around $10-$12 depending on what entree you get, but always comes with crispy wonton wrappers with sweet and sour sauce, chicken salad, and your choice of fried rice or steamed rice. The fried rice is a bit bland and dry for me, which is better than it being oily. I prefer the steamed rice. I call ahead and the food is always ready when I pick up. Support local! Pics include: -Honey walnut prawns lunch special($11+ with tax): Prawns are yummy and crispy. The sauce is a bit too sweet and the breading is a lot. However, the prawns are still large and good. -Mongolian beef lunch special ($10+ with tax): The beef was a bit sweet compared to other Mongolian beef which is usually not sweet. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have been disappointed by sub par Chinese food because of greasy, bland food or way too expensive for what you get. China Palace is amazing. I've ordered it 4 times in the last month. The portions are big, the food easy and well seasoned and the prices are great. I cannot order without getting chop suey. It's sooooo good! I honestly don't understand negative reviews on here. The hot and sour soup is perfectly hot and sour. I didn't have to add anything. Do yourself a favor and order from here. I stopped in during the lunch break while serving jury duty. Had the beef broccoli lunch special and it was great. The staff was nice too, I asked if you could get chow mien instead of the choice of white or fried rice and they happily did it. Sad to say that food has taken a turn since Lisa and her husband have retired. Food is not at all the same and ordering is difficult. I will miss the wonderful food I've had for 30+yrs. My family and I came here for dinner for the first time last night. They sat us right away and we ordered Green Onion Beef, Walnut Prawns, combination fried rice, and Won Ton soup. They had a difficult time understanding our questions about the menu so we just ended up doing our own thing on the menu anyway. The service was good but the food was very bland. The walnut prawns lacked in sauce, the Green onion beef was ok but lacked in beef. They put a ton on onions in it to offset the meat. The meat was however tender. The Won Ton soup was less than satisfacory since it hardly had any won ton dumplings in it and the taste was bland. The combo fried rice hardly had any seasonings to it as well. I did not want to give this place a 2 star since I know they are trying but we wont be back to eat here. read more

Used to be our favorite Chinese in Fairfield. The last trip left us disappointed. The entire front of house is in desperate need of a makeover. Menus were taped to the wall, there's a white dry erase board with specials that have never changed in 20 years that you can't read anymore because most of the ink faded away years ago, walls are peeling and need to be repainted, etc. The restaurant was freezing (pouring rain outside) and barely lit inside. We ordered several entrees and appetizers. Nothing really stood out flavor wise (fried rice, beef broccoli, garlic shrimp). Most dishes were dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. Our chicken wing appetizer came about 5-10 minutes after everything else we ordered. Asked for hot mustard (which used to be fresh and very giod!) and got a packet. I ordered a Tsing Tao (they used to carry that sapporo), and they only have budweiser, Heineken and get this....Corona. Mexican beer at a Chinese place, that doesn't carry any Asian beer. read more

Wow I think I found my new favorite Chinese joint in Fairfield! Got my usual potstickers and shrimp chow mein with no vegetables. The potsticker wrapping was average but the filling actually had a lot of flavor. The noodles were not full in the box, but great flavor and texture. And passed the microwave test. The food here is delicious. I first discovered this place about five or six years ago, and each time I've ordered the food always comes out fresh and hot. That's what I like most about this place, the food is freshly cooked. It's also very flavorful and I've never been disappointed, not once. My in-laws love this place. It's the only take-out Chinese that they ever order. Normally, I'm okay with it. But last night it got me sick.. I've definitely had better Chinese food before. The Mongolian beef here is pretty good. The walnut shrimp has too much sauce on it sometimes but its decent. I ended up on the golden throne for a good 20 minutes because of eating here last night.. Came here and ordered take out lunch. Had orange chicken, fried rice. It came with a chicken salad and a little fried wonton Orange chicken was crispy and perfectly sweet. Been coming to this place for Lunch Specials for years now. It's one of my most favorite Chinese lunch specials in Fairfield. With soup, salad, fried rice, entrée of choice and fried wonton, you can't go wrong here. I love the walnut shrimp here but I must say they go a bit overboard on the batter leaving me with big pieces that turn in regular sized shrimps and lots of fried batter.
