My favorite place to eat in Fenton! The food is always so good and it's a nice in the seating area. They have a lot of different dishes and there something for everyone's taste. I've had very good service recently too, despite what other reviews are saying. I've ordered carry out multiple times as well and they've never gotten anything wrong. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of customers dining in anymore so I'm a little scared there gonna close. The meat is delicious and they offer all the rice/kimchee/vergetables you can eat. It is the perfect stop for a cold winters eve but to be honest I frequent the lunch hour just to save on cost. Our meal was not served until 5 PM and then three of the meals were missing, at this point we requested that the additional meals just be boxed up to go, Waiting another 45 minutes.We cleared our own dishes to make room for serving a bday cake we brought in, being our server never returned back to table. Although the food that was served seemed to be fine, the entire 3 hour experience was incredibly disappointing. They have an extensive food menu as well as a separate sushi menu. They have a small store at the front of the restaurant. There is a separate sushi bar, bar area with some booths and the silk flower lined ceiling Brad is our waiter, he seems nice and attentive. We started off with tteokbokki (dduk bokkie) with mozzarella cheese added ($3), corn tea, spicy fire chicken with cheese (buldak), fancy lobster roll sounds good but krab salad instead of shrimp and a Philly roll with krab salad instead of the salmon. The tea doesn't taste like corn tea, more like the barley tea. $3 is pretty hefty for the very little you get on the tteok bokki. The tteok bokki tastes good, it's soupy here. No egg in ours. :( The spiciness of the sauce gets you a bit towards the end. We got miso with our meal. The buldak comes on a small cast iron plate, it tastes decent but not sure it's worth $20 for this sized plate of food. The buldak is definitely spicy, medium plus. There are bits of minced chicken. We unfortunately got our bowl of rice for the buldak after we had eaten most of the buldak. The banchans were out: spinach, fish cake, bean sprout, pickled cucumber, pickled zucchini, kimchi and shredded daikon radish and cold chicken salad. The spinach, daikon radish, bean sprouts and kimchi were the better of the 8 banchans, but they give you a good variety of banchans here. The Philly roll wasn't bad, as expected. The fancy lobster roll was tall, the top is a lobster salad, looks like raw chicken. Had to double check the lobster was cooked. The roll was not for me. Service was good, food was just okay, nothing special and definitely not worth the nearly $70 charge for our meal either. Keep in mind that they do charge about a 4% service fee for using credit card here, which is so not cool. They have a sign by the hostess desk, where few would ever see it. The 4% service charge must be taken into account when paying for the bill and tipping too. The waiter ends up getting punished because the restaurant passes on this rather petty 4% credit card fee to their customers. How cheap could you possibly be? Poorly done Goki Goki. We found a small paylo sign under the credit card but it doesn't stand up on the gray sticker as well as the white background in Spanish on the right door. So I am going to break down the experience: What was good: - nice looking restaurant with cool water feature in entry - decent variety of menu items - beautiful presentation of sushi - sushi tasted very fresh What could be improved: - "store" area is strange, felt like it was being forced upon you as we were told to browse the store while table was being prepared, which was nothing more than her setting menus on table - metal table legs are fused to the floor (probably cuz some tables are cooktops) but you can't slide your leg between the booth and table leg without some contortions - while sushi tasted very fresh, the overall rolls that we got were "ok". I have eaten here in the past. It has always been great. Today I ordered the Bulgogi bento box. It came with 8 little appetizers, a bowl of miso soup, rice, fish cakes, tempura chicken, tempura vegetables and a tempura roll. So....we're gonna be knocking off a star today. In my previous review, I gave the restaurant a full five for the multiple fantastic dishes that I've had. Today, I wanted sushi, so I ordered the salmon roll and the spider roll. I mean...there's no spiders in it. There's crab instead, which I guess can be considered the spider of the seas. My food was great. My dad's food was great. You've heard all this before. Here's the problem, and it's a big one. My aunty ordered, I believe, the chicken teriyaki bento box. She found a bandage in her chicken teriyaki. A Band-Aid, like for someone's finger, was in her chicken. Two of them, as a matter of fact. This is a food review. So I'm not going to go into a tirade of all the numerous health concerns that brings up. I'm not going to start assuming about the cooks may or may not be doing in the back. And I'm not going to joke about the situation, like I joke in all my other reviews, because it's not funny. There was a bandage in my aunt's food, it absolutely didn't come from her, and that's an instant docking of 1 star. The management and servers were VERY polite and understanding and apologetic. Goki Goki, please get it together. We absolutely love your food but the service is insanely terrible and extremely disappointing. We have ordered takeout sushi numerous times (typically we try to have a midweek treat ordering sushi every Wednesday evening). Oftentimes our order is wrong- the eel avacado roll was missing the actual "eel", our special California roll was made with crab stick instead of the crab salad, despite highlighting and asking to be sure it was made correctly. This evening, we were told our sushi order would be a 1 hour wait. When we arrived to pick up or order, we were told "it's just going to be another 30 minutes". We would be willing to sit down, but that experience with service has proven to be terrible. After an hour and a half and no food or refills we decided to bitch....which we never do. The kicker is that we asked for the manager and the waitress said "he said he's too busy in the kitchen to come out". Holy shit that set off my wife lol. So can't leave a review on the food unfortunately because we never got fed. After 2.5 hours. And manager never came out. I had a chance to try Goki Goki last week and it was a good experience, not the best but good. We ordered the steam buns to start and they had a really good flavor but I'm pretty sure the buns aren't made in house. They aren't the pillowy soft texture that fresh ones have. But still good. It came in for lunch and shared a combo beef and pork combo. Our waitress was nice and helpful. There were very few people in the restaurant and service wasn't the quickest, which was weird but not the end of the world. Our meal came with soup or salad (both yummy). It came with little refillable Korean bbq sides (pickled onions, dressed cucumbers, a weird but kind of good potato salad, a yummy corn side,rice,lettuce to make wraps and rice. We ordered mochi for dessert and they were not good. They were so soft! Mochi should have a wonderful chew on the exterior and the ice cream should still be firm. Checked out this new restaurant on our most recent trip to Fenton to visit family. 6 of us made a reservation for Friday night and were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. It was a little odd that the tables come equipped with stoves in the center, but we didn't see any patrons using them (our server mentioned that most people prefer the kitchen do the cooking). We tried a variety of dishes (and some soju) and everything was delicious. My portion of spicy bulgogi was huge so I took my leftovers home and made a delicious breakfast burrito out of it the next day. My only complaint is that my coat soaked in the smell of the restaurant and took several days to air out. I'll leave my coat in the car next time! read more

He could not quit talking about how fresh the ingredients were and how the spice and flavor just complimented each other. I had a seafood over rice bowl. Came in a super hot stone bowl which cooked the rice to make it crispy. If youve never had crispy rice, this is a must try. Everything was served with meticulous detail. Items were placed in the table with the finest percission, very impressive. There is also an attached store which had a butcher shop, coffee bar and sells Zingerman's bread as well as many other fine items. Step out of your confort zone and try Goki Goki. Wow, this place was surprisingly delicious. We got a large marinated combo for the 4 of us and some of the saki. While it was a little expensive, you do get a large portion (at least for what we got). The marinades were absolutely delicious, the meat was tender, and the drinks were well-priced and yummy! Our server was attentive and helpful in guiding us through the menu (which now has pictures to help you understand what you're ordering). Overall, it was a really nice experience. While I don't love cooking my own food (personal preference), this food was well worth it. And the guidance from the servers helped to make it easier to manage. read more
