I've eaten here a few times throughout my time in Hamilton and visiting the Dundas neighbourhood. Although it's NOT authentic Thai food (their flavours have been largely westernized), BUT such a guilty pleasure of mine since they do have a very large variety of menu items and I've generally liked everything I've tried! Notably, I really enjoyed their Shrimp Cocktails and Chiang Mai Noodle a.k.a. Khao Soi (4/5) since they ONLY use the crunchy fried-egg noodles and drench it with with super sweet reddish chicken curry soup. Other Thai places Khao Soi would also intermix regular rice noodles, but not here haha! Consider sharing this dish bc it's large & can get overwhelmingly sweet. read more

Fantastic food and value fir money. Consistently popular, which may explain the incredibly attentive service which in turn is produced by thinly-veiled efforts to turn tables over. So, that's good and bad. Food will invariably be in front of you within minutes, and for this and other reasons, you'd be well advised to treat this as a family style dining experience. Order a variety of dishes to share. I've probably dined here a dozen times over the years, at least, and it's a consistent, reliable win. Downtown Dundas wasn't the first place I'd expect to find a fantastic Thai restaurant, but this spot is truly a must if you're in the area and craving the rich, savoury, sweet, and tangy flavours of Thai food! I've been here twice for dinner with friends, and each time, we've thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The covered patio area outside is my favourite spot to be seated, especially when they have live music. Service was friendly & swift, and food came out fairly quickly as well. Best authentic Thai food in Dundas Ontario. All their chefs are from Thailand and they make the best savoury Thai dishes you can imagine. The servers were very friendly and made us all feel at home. What a fantastic spot to stop by lunch or dinner. I've been here every time I come to Dundas. Clean, fresh food, friendly knowledgeable staff who know about allergies, delicious and fairly priced. Today I had the scallops in pepper sauce, Coconut chicken soup, and I will have some red bean ice cream for dessert. Every detail is well thought out and beautifully orchestrated. Best kind of dining experience. ;) I'm impressed they offer lamb as well: it's not on many Thai menus. The musseman is quite delicious as well. Stopped in for an evening bite with my partner. The location was busy with about three servers responding to their efficient table setup. The servers spoke Thai so we decided get a table. I ordered the Massaman curry lamb, my partners ordered the Bangkok Pad Thai, also ordered the satay sauce with chicken kabob and we also ordered a takeout. The Massaman curry lamb was more water than coconut milk, but flavourful-I would like it more rich. But the dish was served with a good portion of lamb. The Bangkok Pad Thai had a light egg crepe over the dish and was served with crush peanut. I think someone put too much water in the wok, then just worked it and it obviously got soggy. But it had a good portion of protein in it. The satay sauce with chicken kabob came with a ranch salad? The satay sauce was more water than coconut milk and the colour and appearance was not what I would normally see. The chicken kabob was dry. The take out dish was snow peas with shrimp and egg plant. The funniest reaction I got when I brought this home for someone was "Is this Thai food???" The location has a nice renovation, there was a lot of care to decorate the interior and washroom, truly. The employee uniforms were nice and they really spent extra. The menu items, some have been prepared to cater to the local crowd like "Hamburger" and some items I just would not see at other Thai locations. On the flip side the location must be catering to the local taste of their customer base. There's parking on the street at night and parking just across the street in a public parking lot. read more

We finished our hike and drove past the restaurant and decided to give it a try. This was our first time dining at Bangkok Spoon Deluxe and it did not disappoint. Without making reservations prior to our arrival, the restaurant was very accommodating and seated us right away. We ordered the shrimp chip with peanut sauce, a traditional pad thai, as well as the green curry and the exotic tropical iced tea (thai iced tea). The taste reminded us of our trip in Thailand, missing the morning glory dish. Prices are reasonable as well. We can't wait to be back again. read more

My group of 3 sat in their outdoor seating area on a weekday at 6:20pm. We ordered pad Thai, fish cakes volcano seafood and coconut rice. They were busy so they weren't attentive but they were nice. We sat in the very back so it was hard to get their attention sometimes to fill up our water for example. Food did come out in a timely manner. The fish cakes came out first at 6:37pm and then the rest of the dishes came out at 6:55pm. Food was delicious. I've not tried other Thai restaurants in Hamilton before but from what I've tried, it's the best Thai food I've had so far in this city. read more

Bangkok Spoon has been my favourite place to eat in Dundas. The food was always delicious. sadly something has changed. I don't know if the cook has changed or the recipes are different. The food is no longer superb, it's ok but not delicious. I have asked friends and many say they feel the same and have stopped eating there which is very sad as the staff and atmosphere is awesome. They give their own touch to the Bangkok Pad thai, it tastes a little different than famous Thai restaurants in Toronto, but still tastes pretty good and definitely not the ketchupy kind. Pad Kee mao, also same thing, very flavourful, a little different than what Ive tried so far, with a bit more veggies and a little more "wet" than pad kee maos from different places. They honoured our "Thai Spicy" request very well, coupled with very welcoming service and painless reservation, I am definitely a fan. read more

Big ripoff from little Bangkok Ordered from skip the dishes and I got a small clamshell of pad tai that included one shrimp and appetizer bowl of watery tasteless curry for $30. They didn't even take the time or effort to put in some chop sticks or napkins. Absolutely insulted. I would greatly recommend moving on, I've had great success with "my little Asian" on Queen. Out in a stroll in Dundas area looking for dinner. At first we were going to go to Colin's brew house because they had a nice patio outside. But as we get in no more seats in patio and the waitress was just ignored us after we sat. So we left. This restaurant caught my eyes and imagined my delight when they offered for seating on the patio! They have a very good selection, the price is standard, waitress really good and attentive. The food is not as good as I expected. My boyfriend got spicy duck, his mom and me getting fried rice dishes. We also ordered squid and crab Rangoon. I got the crab fried rice. I don't know how they cooked the crab, it's just a bit stringy. The duck, I like it with crispy skin. The squid, I wished they gave the tentacles part not only the ring parts. And I don't feel this squid fresh. Almost feel like frozen. Though not chewy so it's good. I do like the side salad that came with the squid. We stopped by for a lunch and their special menu starts from 11 to 3pm with price of $12 Definitely worth to stop by if you travel to Hamilton. We tried vegetarian angel hair, curry puffs and mango sticky rice. They are all so good . I wish they open a store in Toronto or Markham. Late lunch on a Friday afternoon led us to this restaurant in Dundas. This was the place recommended for a good Thai food, as I have been craving for a good Pad Thai. We were asked if we wanted to sit on the patio and immediately said yes, and we were ushered through part of the kitchen to get to the patio located behind he restaurant. The patio was lovely and the early afternoon offered a nice cool breeze that made it easy to enjoy the outdoor dining. Our server was pleasant and experienced. For a party of 3, we ordered the Bangkok Pad Thai, Red Curry Duck and Black Peppercorn Oh My Fish. The Pad Tai came wrapped in a thin layer of crepe-like fried egg, which we dissected to get to the goodness of the noodles and vegetables with a single prawn. There was nothing special about it except for the unique presentation and the flavors did not pop. The Red Curry Duck was amazing but the portion was very small. The lightly battered fried fish was bathed in brown sauce with slices of Red and white onions, green and red bell peppers which made the dish very attractive but didn't have the flavor that satisfied the palate. Coconut rice was the choice of side which lacked the 'coconut' flavor. Generally, it was a good experience but I've had better flavors elsewhere. read more

Perfectly fine place to have some classic Thai dishes in Dundas. Decently close to McMaster Campus (short drive or 2 buses). They have lunch deals - a spring roll and salad to go along with your combo for a reasonable price but I found that the spring roll was wayy too greasy and probably from a frozen package. I had the Bangkok Pad Thai and it wasn't as flavourful as other Pad Thai but I really like the egg around it. Very nice room. The dishes are better than most Thai restaurants. Mango salad has an unexpected caramel kind of taste that is rich and delicious. Fresh roll was less than thrilling. Cashew shrimp was pretty good. Pad Thai was an unattractive grey, but tasted good. I haven't been through Dundas in many years, and this place seems like quite an oasis from the Dundas that I remember. Overall I was very unimpressed with my dinner (delivery was fast!). While my soup and salad were edible, the chicken pad Thai was literally red in colour. Once tasted, it became clear, our pad Thai was smothered in ketchup! It was awful. I hope we just caught the kitchen on a bad night- but it was terrible and I won't be eating there again.
