This is my second visit here and it did not disappoint. The service was phenomenal and the food matched the service. 5 stars all the way. Here is what we ordered. 1. Small appetizers platter. Everything was fresh and crispy and the flavours wowed us 2. Large beef hot pot. We were served the noodles and accompaniments separately from the broth which made it unique and freshness guaranteed 3. Fresh crab and omelet fried rice The best dish we had ordered tonight. We popped in on a Friday night, and while the restaurant stayed pretty quiet, we definitely felt the squeeze! We ordered a feast--three apps and a curry with rice--and by the time the drinks arrived, our table was essentially a game of Jenga. A quick heads-up to the staff: if you see two people trying to navigate a mountain of plates and bowls, moving them to one of the many empty larger tables would be a total game-changer for comfort. As for the food, the flavors were spot-on. The pork jowl was a highlight, and the red curry duck confit was rich, creamy, and had the perfect mild kick. This place has a very modern decor & serves mostly legit Thai food (not Pad Thai cooked with ketchup). Crab rangoon notwithstanding. Mango salad was decent. The mango was slightly too ripe but it was not unpleasant; the mango was cut too thick though. It was the first time I'd had a non spicy Thai mango salad & the dressing was lacking tartness.  Crab fried rice was well fried with quite a lot of crab. The egg on top was fluffy & pretty thick. Soft shell crab was crispy & fresh but slightly too moist. Lime was extremely juicy (like calamansi level juicy, which it is replacing after all). The dish was served with seafood sauce which was good & fish sauce  (normal). Previously, Medium tom yum soup hotpot had 6 prawns. The peppers were not legit but the taste was legit. The prawns were fresh & plump. BBQ pork jowl was tasty. It had a good texture though I've had more tender before. Deep fried papaya salad was good: crispy with a refreshing sauce Thai volcano ribs (medium): small came with 3 ribs & large 5. It was a simple stock & taste. They were very tender. The taste was not that special. Mango sticky rice was good with reasonably sweet mango & a nice pairing with coconut sauce & rice. I was searching online to find Thai food and came across this place so I decided to come by with a friend. They were fixing the entrance so it was a bit hard to find it at first. I have to say the vibe and decor of the restaurant is so beautiful. I would highly recommended coming here if you want some nice atmosphere like for birthday celebrations. We ordered fried shrimp cake, pineapple fried rice and a pad Thai. All the dishes were so delicious. I absolutely loved it! The service was decent however there were many times where it was difficult to get the waitresses attention, perhaps they were short of staff during weekdays. Came here for lunch today. My first time here and wow, I will be coming back. As you walk in (minus the construction being done to the front door, not their fault, think someone drove through), the place is very well decorated. Everything is clean and very modern. Great selection in the menus, whether you are craving rice and meat, grilled, soup bones, apps and many other items, there is quite a bit to choose from. We decided on a red curry with chicken and a pork bone soup. The Thai Red curry is so good. Bursting with flavour and you will want to just eat that sauce on rice. Delicious. We also got what I would describe as a pork bone soup. You get so many bones to unlock . The meat is so flavourful and soft. For those afraid to get their hands dirty , they do provide some good quality gloves for you to eat with. Even though we were full decided to share a mango sticky rice for dessert. Plated well and a tasty way to end the meal. The staff are friendly and very attentive. They clear plates as they finish and are there to make recommendations from the menu. This is one of several excellent Thai restaurants that have opened up in the GTA in recent years, and I am so happy this location is close to where I live. We started off with Tom Yum soup. You can customize the spiciness level of the soup here and we got medium. The soup is so full of flavour, with a nice balance of sour and spicy. I would be satisfied even just eating this with a bowl of rice for a meal. We got the Som Tum Isaan. Admittedly I was not a fan of this one; it was probably the fermented crab for me, which I am not a fan of the taste. I would prefer just the regular som tum. We ordered a shrimp pad thai. It is one of the better pad thais that you can get in this city, you can really taste notes of tamarind. Pla tod was another standout for us. The basa filled was fried nicely being both crispy and tender flaky at the same time. Our only wish is that they give more sauce to accompany it. To round out our entrees, and for a dose of veggies we got the vegan green curry. You are able to customize the spice level, and we chose medium. Another dish full of flavour. To help with the spice, I ordered a Thai iced tea. It was good, but it is better at other places For dessert, we ordered the deep fried Nutella roti with banana, and mango sticky rice. We loved the flakiness of the roti and the subtle sweetness of the sticky rice. The music is loud so it was hard hearing/having conversations. Two stalls in the bathroom. It's clean and big enough (not sure if it's accessibility friendly). Food: 4/5 Pink lotus (mocktail) - has notes of lychee, a little bit sweet but overall a very nice drink! Fresh shrimp roll - it's light and fresh. It is well rolled (doesn't fall apart after a bite or 2). The sauce is peanut forward with crushed peanuts throughout the sauce. Pad see ew - on the sweeter side. We added the lime but it didn't really change the flavour profile. The beef has a chew but it isn't overly tough Fried sea bass - the breading is very crunchy. The fish is moist and soft inside. It comes with a spicy sauce. Although it is spicy, it cuts through the greasiness a little. Mango coconut sticky rice - it was really good, not too sweet. The mango had a slight tanginess which brings a freshness. Thai nutella banana roti - today, the roti was hard. It is sweet but it pairs well with the coconut ice cream. December 9, 2025 - I tried beef pad Thai here with medium spice. My gf also got the beef pad Thai but no spice. Two odd things happened. First they gave us another tables order. Thankfully we didn't start eating it. Then, they swapped orders and I got the no spice pad Thai and my gf got the medium spice pad Thai. The pad Thai was good. It had all the makings of a good pad Thai. Good sauce. Right ingredients, and some peanuts on the side. When mixed all together, you get to take a bit of everything. Really enjoyed having lunch here! It's a bit quieter during lunch hours and the service was very attentive and super friendly! Delicious Thai food - can't believe I didn't know this place was here the entire time! You have to get the crispy spring rolls. I love the chewy noodles inside and it tastes addictive in that sweet chilli sauce. I would happily order two portions and call this dinner. The pad thai flavour was fantastic but I was not a fan of it being "fresh" - meaning it's more mushy than what I like. I prefer the drier fried pad thai. They do make note of it being fresh noodles in the description for the menu so I should have noticed it. Still, flavour, again, was great! Very quick and answers your questions. Food is amazing, no complaints here. I came with a group of six and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. Everything was served family-style, and by the end, we were absolutely full. Parking was manageable, with extra space available in the next lot over. The restaurant had a good vibe. It was lively without being too loud. Service was quick and helpful. We started with a few appetizers. The Golden Bags ($15) were fine, filled with taro, carrot, and corn in a crispy wrapper. I'd probably try something else next time. Thong Pong Grob ($13) was the favorite of the night. Crispy and puffy on the outside with sweet yam, carrot, shrimp, and minced chicken inside. It came with Ajad sauce and was something I'd definitely order again. The Papaya Salad ($15), Shrimp Fresh Rolls ($13), and Calamari ($16) were okay. The salad and rolls were fresh and filled with shredded vegetables and herbs. The calamari was crispy but didn't leave much of an impression. For mains, the Panang Curry ($21) was decent but ranked last among the ones we tried. The Pad Thai ($21) had great texture, solid flavor, and was nicely sauced. The Beef Khao Soi ($24) was yummy. It came in a golden coconut curry with soft egg noodles and crispy ones on top. Flavor was well balanced and comforting. The table favorite was the Thai Volcano Ribs (Leng Saab) ($37). It really lives up to the name. The ribs were stacked like a volcano, super tender and full of flavor. The broth was slightly tangy, herby, and well-seasoned. They also gave us gloves so we could eat more comfortably. The only downside was the soup quantity. Everyone got a small bowl, but that was it. The bowl looks deeper than it is. It would have been better if we could all get seconds. The portion of meat was generous, though, so no complaints there. We ended with one dessert: the Mango Sticky Rice ($14). The rice was warm and had a nice texture. The coconut milk added a touch of richness, and the mango was fresh and sweet. Simple and satisfying. A great dessert to share after a big meal. The dishes are great for groups, and the portions are good overall, though some could be more generous for the price. Sharing is definitely better than grabbing something solo. There's a lot to try. One thing to note is that some menu items have noticeably gone up in price. There were visible price stickers covering old amounts, and some prices didn't match what's shown on their website. This time, we were at their Richmond Hill location for dinner. As usual, everything on the menu looked great and we weren't sure what to order, but we knew there couldn't be any wrong choices. Here's what we had: * Isaan-Style Papaya Salad * Morning Glory * Appetizer Platter * Crab Fried Rice * Pad Si Ew with Chicken * Sizzling Mix Seafood * Thai Volcano Ribs * Massaman Beef Short Rib * Thai Ice Cream * Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango The papaya salad with crab was a great starter, along with an appetizer platter that included Chef Ko's famous Golden Bags, Thong Pong Grob, Calamari, Ma Hor, Thai Shrimp Cakes, and Mango Salad. The Thai Volcano Ribs was a mountain of tender pork ribs in pork bone soup. The Crab Fried Rice was another favourite, with generous amounts of crab and tons of flavour. The Sizzling Mixed Seafood was finished at the table on a hot plate - great presentation!. The Massaman Beef Short Rib was another great choice - very flavourful. Still the best thai place in Richmond Hill and still #1 in the area. Everything still tastes delicious. The reason I'm disappointed is because my fave item on the menu has been inflated out the wazoo by the resto! I've seen this dish go from $38 to $39 to $42 and all of a sudden (in the span of 2 months between my most recent and last visit), $55!!!!!???? WTF!!!??? I think pricing this dish at $40 could already have been considered borderline "not worth it". However, I don't eat thai food all the time and thought it was worth it once in a while. At $55 I don't think this dish is worth it anymore. Like not justifiable at all. After scanning the menu thoroughly and comparing the prices to my last visit, it appears that this is the only dish that got hit with the massive inflation spike. Soooo sad. In addition, the resto has also re-concepted some of their dishes. The confit duck leg khao soi no longer exists. Instead, they serve it with small duck breast slices (if I were to take an educated guess using the "eye" test, I'd say it wasn't even half a duck breast amount of protein ... so essentially less meat than the duck leg you were getting before). On this most recent visit during mother's day, they were floating a specials menu that had some pretty new and interesting items. The crab fried rice wrapped in the egg omelette was delicious. We also ordered the banana nutella roti for dessert because apparently the deep fried banana w/ ice cream is no longer served according to our waitress?? (which means they should update their regular menu) The roti was not too sweet and the coconut ice cream was one of the better ones I've had. You hate to see it, but I HAD to drop a star because of that egregious pricing spike on the short rib massaman curry. read more

Food (4.25/5) - pretty good variety of appetizers and mains available similar to the Dundas Junction location. - Chicken Khao Soi - pretty solid dish with good flavours. Golden curries mixed nicely with other ingredients and chicken was tender. - Par Gra Pao - had this with shrimp and it was pretty decent. Had a fried egg on top which mixed well with the jasmine rice. Shrimp was ample and cooked well... oyster sauce was ok maybe bit on bland side. - Shrimp Fresh Rolls - were fresh and rice paper shell was good. Didn't like the cucumbers in the mix but overall rest of the mix works. Service (4.25/5) - can get busy so may have to wait sometimes but servers are friendly and attentive once seated. Atmosphere (4/5) - it's a different vibe than Junction for sure. Bigger and darker with purple neon lights. Big TV and mirrors on wall and music in the background. Lots of groups and couples. This is a 3.5 star rating. The restaurant itself is very comfortable, nicely decorated and pleasant. Staff here are very friendly and not over bearing. The prices are a bit on the higher end while portion sizes are smaller. I ordered the Khao Soi, and it was very nicely played. The flavour overall was ok, but the sauce was a bit on the thinner side. It was more soupy instead of the usual thick curry that it would come with. Normally I wouldn't be able to finish the portion, but as mentioned before, the portion sizes here are smaller, so I managed to finish my meal without any leftovers. Not sure if I'll return, I think Koh Lipe is a better choice for flavour and price point (larger portion sizes). read more

While the pad kee Mao got the nice wok hei, other flavour profiles were missing - it was salty but not enough sweet and umami kicks to balance the flavour. Even sitting at the door and it being cold down - It didn't really affect the vibes. We had hot water with lemon and it was a great way to keep us warm. Isaan Der's food is so delicious! I've been twice now and both times, I have had a great experience. The restaurant is a bit smaller than it seems on the outside, and the seats are quite close together. I would say it is quite a noisy restaurant as I think there isn't really anything to absorb the sound. However, though the ambiance isn't my favourite, everything else makes up for it. The service is quick and the staff are kind. The food is high quality and very tasty. Something that I hadn't had before at other Thai places was the Lamb Shank curry. I would recommend trying it although the price is higher because the lamb was very tender and went really well with the curry sauce. Other than that, I would recommend the Pad See Ew and the Mango Sticky Rice! I like that the mango sticky rice comes with an easily divisible portion for two. The service was good--staff were polite and attentive--but good service cannot justify poor food quality, especially at this price point. * Grilled Seabass ($65 before tax): Extremely disappointing. The fish was overly salty, completely overpowering the natural flavor of what should be fresh seabass. When we asked why, we were told it was "seasoned with salt," which makes little sense--fresh fish should not need heavy salting, and salt became the most dominant, unwanted ingredient. * Mango Salad: Very soupy and diluted, lacking freshness and balance. * Pineapple Fried Rice: The only dish that was consistent with our previous visit and tasted as expected. Given the premium pricing, especially for the grilled seabass, the overall quality this visit did not meet expectations. Good balance of flavours with club music atmosphere Atmosphere: The restaurant has an upscale and modern interior with high ceilings, although the club/party dance pop music is a bit loud/distracting if you're planning on having a quiet date. It's good for a younger crowd or smaller groups and there's also a large screen playing sports. Food: The first time we visited the flavours were a lot stronger with the Thai Volcano Ribs being on the spicier and sour side, and the Pad Kee Mao also having a higher spice level. We asked for mild on the second visit and it seemed to have no spice at all, so we may go for regular spice level on a future visit. The papaya salad was nice and crunchy, and had a good balance of tartness and umami from the fish sauce. The appetizer was a good sampler platter, with a couple of the dishes reminiscent of Indian curries, and the crab/fish cake was the highlight for that dish. The crab roe fried rice was also fantastic, with tender and flaky crab meat topping a bed of soft fragrant rice and egg, making for a filling and substantial carb. The pad kee mao had good wok hay, although it lacked a bit of flavour the second visit. Overall, the dishes are good and would come back again to try some of the other dishes. Service: The service was quick, although it was definitely busy during supper time so recommendations are highly recommended. It was bit strange that the appetizers came and the mains came almost at the same time, we would have preferred some time between courses. Coming in, the place was bright and had lots of seating. The host greeted us warmly and let us know about the 1 hour and a half time limit as they get booked up pretty fast. I can see why they get so busy. We ordered the Tom Kha soup, Thai fried rice with soft shell crab, Beef Short Rib Massaman Curry, Chicken Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice and Coconut Sticky Rice. Tom Kha soup was very light and creamy with the sweetness from the coconut. Thai Fried Rice with Soft Shell Crab had a slightly smoky flavour, packed with umami. It has a rich buttery flavour coming from the crab as well that is not too overpowering. Beef Short Rib Massaman Curry was sweet from the sweet yam and coconut with a hint of spice and tanginess from the curry. The ribs were cooked perfectly with the meat being very tender. Chicken Pad Thai had a nuttiness flavour and a subtle sweetness. I was hoping a bit more basil to elevate the dish but overall, still quite happy with it. You can never go wrong with the desserts as well. They did get our Pad Thai order wrong but they quickly came back with the correct one. But I still recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy your Thai food cravings. read more

My visits here are usually pretty good but on my latest visit, I was quite disappointed. My dish was quite salty (Khao soi) and they also forgot my order. My tablemate got her order after a while and mine had to be repeatedly chased and still no sign :( We did appreciate how we got seated at the half moon bar top tables so we got a lot more room plus space under the seats for coat/bag storage. I usually get the pineapple red curry and I think I will stick with that in the future. Might visit again soon and I hope the food will be better! read more
