Bangkok Square is walking distance from my house so naturally I needed to check it out. I decided to get it take go so I could enjoy my meal from the comfort of my couch. 20 minutes after placing my order my meal was ready. I have been to their original location and had a pleasant experience. The hours are a little off at this location. Twice I tried to go in the middle of the week and they were closed for the day. I finally was able to check them out on a Friday night. It wasn't very packed which was nice. I ordered the chicken drunken noodles with medium spice and a Thai iced tea. The tea was sooooo good. It wasn't too bitter which was great. The prefect amount of sweetness. The drunken noodles on the other hand were delicious flavor wise but INSANELY spicy. I realize spice is super subjective so I try not to base my reviews on it. This time I just had to mention it. I can tolerate spice pretty well but since this was my first time at this location I wanted to take it slow in case the hot was too hot. But literally this medium tasted like Thai hot. I'm by not sure if it was an accident but my mouth was on fire so I could not even finish half my dish. I was pretty disappointed because it seemed like it had some great flavor. I also wish the portions were slightly bigger. I usually like to split my dish but the portion was only enough for one. My bill came to $16 for one entree and a drink. I will still go back just because it's so convenient for me but I'm hoping next time they get their spiciness more accurate. The service on the other hand was excellent. Great service but the Pad Thai was so sweet it was hard to eat. They did offer to make me something else, which was nice. The crab rangoons were so weird. Yellow sauce inside. Did not see crab. There was a flavor essence of crab. My husband got squid in his pad Thai and said it was cooked perfectly. read more

Just a note on how amazing the service and food quality is here. As a vegan, Christmas is hard. Rather than being frustrated, or scrambling for food for multiple meals, I ordered Bangkok Square for Christmas Eve, Christmas lunch, and Christmas dinner. You would think I'd be sick of it after that, but I'm out of town now and find myself craving their drunken noodles (best in Gainesville!) This is such a great spot and the service is wonderful-everyone is so friendly and nice. They truly made a bad situation (my family not making food I could eat), a great situation! read more

The service was quick and fast, which I really liked since we are passing through and just needing a quick bite to eat. We found them online and just decided to give them a try. The Thai food was average. I tried the yum woonsen during lunch hours and they let me order the dinner item. The pad kee mao was also average. Spice level medium was perfect. It wasn't too spicy for me. Our meals came with an egg roll and a soup. After your meal, they bring out coconut ice cream, which I wasn't a fan of. They have outdoor seating available, but it was too hot today so we sat inside. read more

I'm so glad we have a place like on this end of Gainesville. There isn't much to choose from when it comes to Asian restaurants so this is a great addition. The place is very clean which to be expected of a new place. The service is awesome. I really think it is the best I've had in a place like this. The food is really good. I had the pad broccoli. They ask how spicy you would like it which I appreciate. I had it medium spicy and it was the right amount for me. At the end of the meal they bring a small sample of ice cream which was a perfect little size and hit the spot. I was there for lunch. The price is good for the serving size. Dinner menu seems to be more but I'm sure you get a lot more food. I will definitely go for dinner and try it out. read more

Great food and clean, friendly atmosphere. The first time I went, I had the lunch special and it was affordable with a nice serving of food. I returned with family after scouting it out and everyone was pleased with their dishes. Can recommend the green curry, cashew chicken, drunken noodles, and basil fried rice. Food is very good. If you are taking out/picking up, not so good. You have to wait outside until one of the busy employees finds time to check on why you are waiting. There is often a crowd outside with no order to the chaos. Phone is always busy so if you want to call in an order, keep trying. Website orders seem to be delivery only. This location was quite the disappointment compared to the Archer location. Ordered the pad thai and yellow curry and they were both flavorless! Not at all what we were expecting when we ordered to-go from Bangkok Square. They used to be our go to thai restaurant, but it looks like we are in need for a new place. Other than the food being absolutely tasteless, our order was right, and food was ready on time for pick-up. Would probably not give them another shot, and just try a new place instead. A coworker recommended this restaurant so I was super excited. I splurged on crab Rangoon which was expensive and not very good. I got a curry with super dry chicken and under spiced curry. I had garlic and black pepper chicken and loved it! Lots of chicken and a good serving of vegetables with it. My husband had the ginger chicken and loved it. They brought us some coconut ice cream (tiny servings) as they picked up our dishes, and I must say that it was SO APPRECIATED AND LOVED! I want a whole bowl of that now. One of the better Thai places in Gainesville, but a little inconsistent. Not sure if they have different cooks at different times. Sometimes the Thai hot gives me more chest hair and other times it's as bland as rice. Nonetheless, the soups are perfect, and I love the pad Thai with tofu. My boyfriend and I come here as our go-to date night food. The environment in the restaurant is cozy and they have a lot of options to chose from! The noodles do tend to be on the sweeter side so keep that in mind when ordering, but overall we love it. The coconut ice cream is absolutely heavenly...it's worth every penny and you can tell it was made in house. The only reason I took off a star is for the big inconsistencies with the spice levels. Not sure what's going on here. I placed an online order and waited more than an hour. Once my order came out I checked the receipt to ensure it had my name on it. Drove back to work where I discovered that my order was completely wrong. I called and the lady told me that I probably placed the order at another location. I've been here a few times and every time I've enjoyed my food. I've only ordered two dishes so far, red curry and drunken noodles, but I find them satisfying, tasty, a good portion size, etc. One thing that makes them valuable to me is how quickly we got in and out when we were there before rehearsal. That ensures my repeat business bc as you can imagine, a musician doesn't want to have to live on peanut butter sandwiches and Subway just because she's on the go. So yeah if you've never had drunken noodles you should give them a try. They're not called that because they're alcoholic--it's more like pasta puttanesca in the sense that oh, you went and partied and now you need some real food to soak it all up. I for sure really enjoyed my first visit to Bangkok Square this past week. I went in after work and decided to give this place a try! I loved the food, the atmosphere, and everything else in between. This place is a little bit of a drive so it is not downtown and its on Archer Rd heading towards Hail Plantation. One thing that I love about this place is that the have a menu outside. I love seeing this and being able to see what I want to order while waiting outside. I decided to order first the carb rangoons and they were amazing. You get six big plump crab rangoons and they are amazing! They are filled with crab and creme cheese and taste great. I loved each bit and the sweet and sour sauce tastes great with them. For diner I had their version of Chicken Pad Tai with some spice. It was a very generous portion and I loved the food. The little spice was great but I am glad I did not get a ton of spice cause the little spice was perfect. The pad thai was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy! The service was great. The price a little high but not that bad. I am really happy to have this place in town and can't wait to get back and try more food!! read more

We were excited about trying out the new Bangkok Square location, but were sorely disappointed by the time we left. The short of it is... They made us move tables, they forgot our drinks and salad, and there was hair in our food. If you want the full story... they asked us to switched tables after we had settled in & even ordered drinks. We have a baby, whose stuff was already sprawled out on the table, so it was a pain. The reason was because they had a party of 9 show up & decided they wanted our table. They never brought our drinks. Our new server had no idea we ordered drinks & never asked if we even wanted drinks. We had to ask for them. They never brought the salads that were supposed to go with the meals. To top everything off we found hair in one of the plates of food, a nasty surprise! They were severely unorganized and apparently not very clean either. read more

I had been to the other location about a year ago and loved it. Came here for the first time and it's beautiful inside! Sat down and had some polite ladies bring us water, but then we have a rude male waiter asking us if all we want is water and if we are ready to order yet,and I know when writing this out it doesn't sound rude but trust me this guy was. And he even gave me this awkward scowl smile when my boyfriend asked for the check sooner than he expected. On to the food- the crab soup was as bland as could be. The crab Rangoon's had no taste of crab at all, and had this weird cinnamon curry filling. It was terrible. I went with my usual pad see ew, and while the tofu in it was awesome, the sauce the dish was dressed in was pure sugar. I've never had such a sweet pad see ew and it was not good. Boyfriends dish of the drunk noodles was okay. But between the awkwardly rude waiter and the really disappointing food I definitely won't be back to try this location. read more

Would not change a thing! however, my husband ordered the red curry (medium) and it did not have any flavor, nor did it come medium. Definitely one of the worst red currys we have had.
