It's still decent Pad Thai, and the gyoza and soups are a delight, but based on where it used to be the Pad Thai has fallen off a mini cliff. Well now I think they are in the 3rd or 4th set of owners. Menu has stayed consistent but the preparation is not consistent. They seem to use way too much sugary ingredients in their sauces which the original owners didn't. The tastes are not the same. The spice level doesn't exist on dishes like Spicy Basil. The menu indicates it's spicy but they don't put any spice in it unless you ask now... then don't indicate it's spicy. Sushi is rank and old not fresh. They continually leave out ingredients for example on the Pad Thai the bean sprouts and cabbage never make it to the top of the dish anymore. My wife and I spent several days in Valparaiso to both visit her sister and introduce me to the town where both of them went to college. I had always wanted to go there and am very happy to say that I totally enjoyed the visit. While there, we ate most meals out. Bangkok Thai and Sushi was one of them. I ate here by myself. My wife and I had spent a long day touring the area, and she was still full at suppertime from the delicious burger we had for lunch. My sister in law wasn't hungry either. Me???? Jimmie don't skip no meals! I had gone to a city park to look for birds and native plants from the area. Unfortunately, it had rained so much that when I stepped on the grass, I sank and water covered my shoes. I gave up and sat in the car looking for a place to eat by myself. I landed on this place because I really like Thai food and knew it would not be somewhere we would be visiting during the rest of our stay. There were plenty of choices, but ruling out fast food, this felt safest. The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant was pretty much the same as any I have been to. There was nothing to make it stand out. Just a nice clean Asian-inspired feel. I took a chance on a sushi roll, just because they had them. I would normally have had a summer roll instead. The sushi was a spicy tuna roll. It was okay, but was a lot like the sushi you buy at a grocery store- meaning not rolled to order. For my main dish I ordered my goto pad woon sen. It tasted perfect, but the noodles seemed a little mushy. The veggies in the dish were crisp and delicious. I think someone either overcooked the noodles or they were pre cooked and stored in water waiting to be flash warmed. I really enjoyed the Thai tea. It was creamy, sweet, and delicious. I'm sure it had more calories than the rest of the meal combined. Would I come back to this restaurant? If I lived in Valparaiso, I would for sure. It is the only Thai restaurant in the area. If I go back to visit Valparaiso. I would probably skip it. Right or wrong, it just doesn't meet the standard set by my favorite Thai restaurants in San Antonio. read more

When I tell you this place is amazing!! I legit would give up my first born child. The way I'm giving up my kidney for some N6 Khao Soi... AAAA I love this!! Ordered take out with family. Two bags full of food which they put into a sturdy box which was nice except that the carrot juice container wasn't spill proof and leaked carrot juice all over. I had the yellow curry at a level 3 spiciness (they do 1-5, 1 being no spice and 5 being lots of spice). The curry was really good with large chunks of chicken and vegetables. Veggies were cooked thoroughly, had a slight crunch in the centers due to their size. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but I would say this is a pretty mid-tier Thai place. The food is delicious; I've tried several items including the red curry, pad Thai, basil fried rice, the wide noodles... everything is awesome! It's fresh and perfectly seasoned. The menu is marked with spicy items and the staff is careful to warn you but the spice level is perfect in those dishes. This place is fantastic! We came by for dinner on a Saturday around 5:30pm and was able to be sat right away. The service was impeccable and the ladies asked a few times if I needed any help with the menu and to let them know if I have any questions. Our waters got refilled and were never left empty! We got the spicy basil beef with jasmine rice and the drunken noodles. For an appetizer we shared crab rangoons and we also ordered the "broken heart" sushi roll which tasted amazing. Everything came out hot and we received great service throughout. At the end we received small cups of Thai tea as a thank you and we were sent on our way. Well here goes. Below you will see a $7.20 bowl of really bad Tom Yum soup. Tasted like sugar and rice vinegar were the only two ingredients, as you can see, no veggies to speak of. The other Thai dishes were of similar caliber. They all seemed like amateur versions of dishes I have eaten hundreds of times in dozens of different Thai restaurants (in the long ago past when food prices like the ones below were only in Chicago?) The sushi was barely edible. The fish while fresh, was cut by someone with less training then me at preparing nigiri. The sushi chef failed at the most basic levels - the rice used was not even sushi gluten rice but appeared to be common white rice, the exact same white rice that accompanied the Thai food!!! If you are going to claim to be a sushi restaurant and you don't even carry sushi rice (its available from any grocery store I have several pounds of it myself) get out of the business and stick to what you do well. Now I should have known better that to expect the sushi to be good, but come on, no sushi rice? The fish was cut chunky and not even properly against the grain, which is why the ....... oh hell..... screw it, it sucked bad. The rolls, they too sucked, being made with standard long grain white rice that was not properly cooked for sushi, not seasoned with mirin, sake, soy or uzu. The rolls fell apart. Hell they lacked the taste of grocery store sushi. Let me put it this way, if I can get better sushi from STRACKS grocery store, made to order..... WTF are you doing selling this as a restaurant? read more

I liked this a lot. The food was good, the people were friendly, the space is lovely, and I think they're doing a good job social distancing (they even have a jar of "clean pens" for people to use). Food was a bit pricey, but it was good so I think it was worth it. I ordered a ton because I was hungry when ordering, and we were celebrating out anniversary. I ordered online and ordered 2 sides of rice, they actually called me to tell me the dishes I ordered came with rice and did I still want the additional side of rice. I thought that was really nice and helpful of them! We had: Pad Thai with Tofu- decent (I'm picky about pad thai.
