Upon entering, there is a pho place right next to the banh mi section, both operating together. I went to the freezer to select some desserts. I ended up getting black-eyed peas rice pudding (che dau trang), banana tapioca pudding (che chuoi), and a box of pandan leaf coconut jello. They also have a selection of viet ham available as well. At check out, I ended up ordering a pork banh mi and a cold cut banh mi. It took about 10 minutes for the banh mi to be prepared. Probably one of the only good options of Banh Mi around the area - though their hours close shortly right after 9-5 work hours. But a great option to swing on by for lunch or get through Uber eats. Their buns are crumbly and tasty and they don't hold back on the meat filling for the banh mi. The pickled carrots and cilantro balance the meat marinade wonderfully and make this snack/meal feel less guilty to devour as their ingredients are fresh! Their kimchi fries used to hit the spot but not sure if I had a one off experience where they didn't give enough sauce or kimchi. I love me a good banh mi, and this place does it right. The fact that they cook the meat to order is really nice. My favourite banh mi place on Steeles can put together a quick and dirty banh mi is seconds but this place we had to wait for 10mins. My wife had the tofu and I had the lemongrass so I was shocked to see them cutting the tofu and fryjng it and putting the chicken on the flat top. Also there were tons of pickled veggies and herbs. You pay a slight premium- but not over the top like Banh Mi Boys. I was so tempted to get a bowl of Pho because the smell drove me crazy...but I picked up a bao instead of pho and that bite was amazing. I have been craving this place for weeks! Finally got to go - brought my parents who have been craving a solid banh mi since their NYC trip a few years ago. I am very upset and disappointed with the service I received today by the young girl taking orders at the counter. I ordered 5 pork Banh Mi Sandwiches for take out. As usual, the waiting area is over crowded with people waiting for their orders or waiting for a table. I waited 45 minutes for nothing. When I saw people leaving with their orders, I finally asked if mine was ready as it's already been 45 minutes. The young girl looked confused and she realized that she gave my order to someone else (the customer after me). We decided on the lemongrass chicken and bbq pork. At first glance, I wasn't able to see the pork or chicken, since it was completely covered with carrots, cucumbers and coriander. The bread was crusty, and held up well, however, I found the sauce too sweet for my taste. Perhaps it was an off day, but I found the meats to be surprisingly skimpy. The meat is always very flavourful and tastes delicious in a bao. The kimchi fries are also good as is, but I would recommend getting some pork or beef on top as it starts tasting kinda plain after a while. If you want to try some dessert I would also recommend the flan. It's about $3 and it's really good. Perfect pudding texture, and not too sweet. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the lemongrass chicken bao. I felt like the chicken was too firm and didn't go well with the bao because the bao was too soft. Steamed pork belly baos: was also very good, it was overflowing with veges and the pork belly. I found eating the baos was a little bit messy. A lot of the stuffing just ended up on my plate. Kimchi fries: was good, the combination of the kimchi and fries was really delicious. My only complaint is that the fries was not as good as i expected it to be. It tasted like your regular frozen fries you buy in the grocery store. On its own, the fries is not good, but the kimchi elevates the flavour when they are combined. I'm a huge fan of Pho Metro which is connected to Banh Mi Metro - so I figured there's no way I could go wrong right? Right. The menu isn't extravagant by any means it's just an assortment of Banh Mi sandwiches and two types of sides once of while being kimchi fries. I got the chicken banh mi and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was flavourful and juicy. The slaw was also fresh, crispy and sweet. So into it. The baguette was also a good size, I'd say maybe 9-10 inches. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The worst is when you bite into a baguette and have to fight with it... this was not the case. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back to try their other banh mi sandwiches. Finally, a Banh Mi option in Scarborough closer to home. The shop is pretty new and tied to the existing Pho Metro restaurant. The menu is pretty simple with a few options to choose from. I ordered the standard Assorted Banh Mi which came wth the usual fixings. The bread is a standard French style baguette, quite fresh with lots of crunch. The veggies were all nice and fresh. The cold cuts and pate were quite good. The pate in particular is very, and a bit peppery which I like. Uptown there aren't many choices and I usually go to Nguyen Huong for fresh Banh Mi. Banh Mi Metro prices are OK but for the difference in price I'd rather go to Nguyen Huong. The quality just isn't good enough to justify paying 50% more. Overall, still a good sandwich. read more

G and N both stayed up all night trying not to fail school because they had been procrastinating the whole week. N was anticipating this place because G would not shut up about it. We ordered two BBQ pork bahn mis and oh boy- was it the best bahn mi we had! The bbq pork was hot, tender and juicy. The vegetables were really fresh with a generous helping of cucumber, carrots and parsley. It may look simple but tastes spectacular. In conclusion: G is always right. read more

I absolutely love their BBQ Pork Belly bao. The sauce is a perfect match with the banh mi. The pork is very well seasoned, so even if there is a bite without sauce, it's still very flavourful. I order from them on Uber eats at least once a week now, and it's become one of my favourite to-go sandwiches to eat. I usually hate sandwiches, or anything that's wrapped in a bun, but Banh Mi has pleasantly surprised me. I am a huge fan of metro pho so when this banh mi metro opened, I was pretty excited to try their food as well.
