    Chicken Chorizo Breakfast Burrito

This was my first time coming to Banjo. There is parking available upfront, free of charge. There are 3 big benches & 6 round tables outside for seating. There is a good amount of seating inside as well, including 8 bar seats looking outside the windows (not pictured). There are a few outlets available inside. The breakfast burrito was excellent--great texture and flavor. Our lattes were great. The espresso flavor is so good you don't even need any flavors added. I just got some simple syrup and that was enough:) would definitely come again for the coffee and the good vibes of the shaded outdoor patio. Would recommend!

OK, so this is clearly the most popular neighborhood spots. They may as well have a revolving front door! My daughter is doing day camp in Decatur, so I decided to spend the morning at a coffee shop. I chose banjo because it seemed to have good seating plus a dedicated parking lot. However, I did not account for how busy the place would be. If you're looking for a place to either meet up with a friend or get a little work done while you also get your caffeine fixed, this is a great option. If you need quiet in order to work, maybe not so much. We were here from about 9:30 AM to 11 AM, and the traffic slowed a little, but never once stopped. As you can see from my pictures, the biscuits are huge and fluffy. They are also delicious! The coffee drinks were beautifully made and also delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Got so happy seeing they offer decaf coffee. This is my lane. I will be back for some lattes.

My new favorite coffee shop. Great, friendly service. Easy checkout. Nice quaint layout with a nice patio. Love the artwork on the walls. Especially the banjos. Really nice touch. I'm currently hooked on the vegetable sausage egg & cheese biscuit. This was my 2nd time this week enjoying this sandwich. Then discovered they offer decaf coffee. Looking forward to trying some of their lattes.

Very cool inside and delicious coffee that I've never seen on a menu before. Avondale heights always surprises me and Banjo was no different. Went on A Friday morning and I haven't been in a coffee shop line that long in a minute. They were crowded, not slow to be clear. Muffin was tasty and the pastries looked good overall.

I've been here twice and ordered an iced coffee with vanilla each time. And each time it had a bitter taste. The service is good and fast. But I don't recommend their iced coffee. Parking is tight. The inside is clean and quiet.

Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a free private parking lot in front of the business; however, parking is very limited. If you cannot find a space out front, try parking on the street (Locust St), left of the building. II. SERVICE Timely III. QUALITY The coffee was perfect. I had an Americano and it was pleasantly acidic and dense. Their cappuccino was also ratioed well. Atmosphere-wise? The interior is great. Except.. Everywhere I go I have to inevitably use the bathroom.. I wish I didn't have to use theirs. The floor was wet. The only accessible toilet paper was thrown on the back of the toilet seat and not in the holder bin. It looked as if they were in the process of renovating it but it was still incomplete with blue tape everywhere. It just didn't feel clean. Hope it improves. IV. CAPACITY The place was filled on a weekday morning up until noon, then the crowd started dying down.

Nice location at Avondale, the place is a real coffee bar, it has interior and exterior ambience, great for family and friends, fast and friendly service, the coffee was roasted

I love their iced lavender honey latte and breakfast burrito ;with bacon). The burrito comes within an amazing salsa verde on the side the customer service is wonderful.

3.8/5 Food: Found this place on Yelp and just had to try! I had the chicken chorizo burrito and the cinnamon roll w/ the vanilla bourbon latte w/ oat milk. My partner had the breakfast biscuit with bacon and the butterfly lavender latte. The vanilla bourbon latte was pretty good, I would definitely get it again and add a lil more flavoring. The burrito was just okay, very oily (ruined my top and pants) and I wasn't a fan of how minced the meat was. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his biscuit but wished they gave jam with it, but he did not like his drink. I had to go in and ask for some simple syrup on the side to go into it. So heads up, order sweetener or flavoring for the latte. Service: Since it was busy, all the workers were working hard but did pay attention to requests when asked. The cashier was very helpful when ordering, and even sold me the last cinnamon roll in the display case when I asked for one (which was really good warmed). Ambiance/Parking: It's a really cute, small cafe with minimal sitting inside and out. The parking lot has limited spaces but there is street parking on the side of the building. Overall: I would come back and try the breakfast biscuit and the lavender honey latte next.

Cute little coffee shop right across from the farmers market. Prices were a little high but my salted caramel was coffee was really good and not too sweet. They have a really good espresso machine in there and they have some seating but it's a bit of a tight fit.

    Nitro cold brew dirty chai

I was really impressed with my visit to Banjo Coffee. I tried three different drinks. Their espresso was strong with hints of chocolate notes, and I really enjoyed it. Their nitro cold brew is one of the best I've ever had, and was so good that I tried their nitro cold brew dirty chai, which is a typical dirty chai made with cold brew instead of espresso. It wasn't as good as the plain cold brew to me, but I still really enjoyed it. The baristas were pleasant, and the outdoor space is nice. My only negative would be that they have minimal space inside if weather is uncooperative.

A little on the expensive side. No vegan pastries or food for that matter. Coffee tastes good but not for the price unfortunately.

It's a walk up window spot with the menu and a bell, when you're ready to order, ring the bell. The service is friendly and succinct. Non invasive and just helpful without asking when needed. The seating area is a mix between covered and uncovered, with a small speaker playing contemporary tunes at a respectable level. There are string lights above, and I can only imagine how beautiful this all looks at night. I'd read a LOT about their fish sandwich. That it is a good size helping. That it has a great light fresh vinegar sauce with thinly sliced carrots and other crunchy veg. The fish tasted fresh fried. And I have to say, this is the Best fish sandwich I have ever tasted. I only am upset I hadn't come much sooner. I will have to return, probably on a monthly basis for that fish sandwich. There are enough pictures out there of the sandwich. But I also had the Thai basil lemonade and it was a nice pairing. Not a waste of time, effort or dough. Just go.

We bring friends here, and one friend in particular is so obsessed that he was dreaming of their food when he was on a film shoot out of state, and could not wait to get back. You order at the window, and can take it away or eat outside. The place feels like a party when the weather is good. I don't think it is possible to order badly: the owners keep the menu tight, and everything is SO FRESH. When they run out, that's it. (The curried carrot soup will go fast, I've found.) My husband usually gets the vietnamese fried fish sandwich which is delectable with lots of flavor and texture. We rarely eat meat, but I have made an exception to try the Moroccan lamb burger which was worth it. I usually spring for the upgrade to get crispy smashed potatoes instead of chips. And it's worth noting that the drinks are also well above average: I've enjoyed the indulgence of a Bravassi hard Italian soda with my meal on a lazy afternoon, after shopping at the Second Life thrift store. Their drinks are very good, and they serve them up straightaway to savor while you wait for your order to come up. I have not yet ordered a salad but they have an array of excellent / choices, and I know they will not disappoint. I also want to note that although there is not waiter service (which makes it an ideal spot to meet friends) the staff is friendly, and well above average. It's such a great vibe, and a real bonus of living in the area. They also serve breakfast, and I feel confident in their level of quality in recommending them as a stop for anyone.
