Father in law who is in his 90s, brought in his oreck to find out why it wasn't working. The cost would be 150 to fix it. So he asked me to look at it. Broken belt, which a spare was still on the vacuum, was replaced in about 10 minutes, and the vacuum was working like new. 10 minute job 150 dollars. Great job trying to take advantage of a elderly man. You'll never get my business. Funny how the salesman offered to sell him a new one at 150. Scam scam scam! read more

I have to say I have not experienced this kind of great customer service ever. After discovering the machine I purchased (although great) didn't meet my needs, I went to return the unit not realizing I was passed the 5 day return date. Do you know what they did??? They gave me the small handheld unit I really needed free of charge and let me keep the original unit! It doesn't get better than that people. They have a customer for life! I have to say - my Irish/Catholic guilt was kicking in when I accepted it ..... This is a business that services you as a lifelong customer. KUDOS! read more

I chose banks because I am new to the area and liked the close convenience of the location in the woods. Dropped my vacuum off and 2 days later was told the part was on back order and would be in that Friday. Not the stores fault. I initially declined a courtesy vacuum since I figured it would not take long to repair. I called again on Monday to check the status again. Told it was still on back order. I then said fix the plug not the power reel to get the vacuum back sooner. They said it would take just as long to fix (next Friday) to fix it the "quick" way instead of the "correct" way. I said fine since I was going out of town. Called the Monday I returned, still not fixed. New date was Wednesday. I said just fix it the quick way and called again for status. Bottom line, don't expect fast service or follow up if a back ordered item changes. read more

I can't believe this place is still in business. I brought my upright vacuum and because the brush was not turning.I assume they needed a belt, I was looking to pick up the belt and then replace it myself. I had heard rumors about shady dealings at that store but I figured it was just a belt and what could go wrong. They said they could not sell me a belt, they had to diagnose the problem and I needed to leave the vacuum for a day or two. When I picked up the vacuum I was told that he was not a belt the motor had been burnt out. They proceed to tell me that they could not replace the motor and what I need to do was buy a new vacuum. They suggest the $999 model, if I did not want to invest that much they could sell me a used or reconditioned model for much cheaper. I took my vacuum to another store on Kelly Road. I started to explain to the proprietor when it happened and he stopped me saying ...you were at Banks, right... say no more I have heard it too many times. He then proceeded to fix my vacuum while I watched.It was just a belt and it took about a minute to replace. I went back to the banks and asked them what the deal was.They started to tell me how the motor burned out and there was nothing that could be done. I explained to him what they did and they said was gee we made a mistake. No it wasn't not a mistake. It was fraud. the place is a scam. read more

i wanted to get a good vacuum because I was tired of replacing my vacuum every other year, so I went to banks and spent over 1000 on a vacuum. they told me it would last 20 years. I went for my "free annual inspection" and they told me I needed service and filters and it would be $89.00. I told them it was working fine, I just brought it in for my free check up, they said something about carbon dust. Then the guy tried to sell me a new vacuum. I've been buying vacuum bags from banks for the longest time. With 2 dogs and vacuuming 3x a week, our vacuum gets a workout. After having this model for a few years now, I thought it was finally dead when it was starting to lose power. I spoke to the manager Todd about it and he asked me to bring it in for a look.
