I came to Urgent Care because of a cough a few weeks ago and was told I had laryngitis and to drink water, come back if it gets worse. I came back because it got worse. I was questioned about why I was coming back to Urgent Care and not making an appointment with my doctor. This was after I waited in the waiting room for almost 40 minutes past my appointment time, then sat in the exam room waiting for another 20 minutes. I wasn't seen by a physician for over an hour. When I finally was seen, I couldn't get anything for my cough even though I explained that OTC meds aren't helping. This is a little ridiculous, especially when I made an appointment so I wouldn't have to sit around and wait. read more

We will not be going back to this location. Took my daughter in at about 11:15am today (she made an appt - which is great) and due to Covid 19, no visitors are allowed to wait.... I'm glad. I waited in the car out front but while I was sitting in the car, I watched a staff member come out in her blue scrubs, no mask, coughing and not covering her mouth. She went to her car, got something, started coughing again and saw me. She then covered her mouth with her hand and then reached for the door handle with the SAME HAND. Oh my god!!!!! This is a healthcare professional! Why is she at work if she's coughing this much and why on earth would she contaminate the door handle like that?! To make matters worse, the NP that saw my daughter said it was probably just allergies when my daughter obviously has some sort of flu or virus - full body aches, headache, feels like crap, sore throat, fever (taken down with Tylenol.). this is quite embarrassing, but while on a phone call, I accidentally cut myself. I had never seen a cut on myself that deep, so naturally I was freaking out a bit. The blood just kept coming, it didn't hurt much, but the paper towels just kept soaking up the blood. I managed to clean the cut with peroxide, held my thumb so the tear would stay together and put some aloe vera on it. That could have been the end of it, but my family urged me to check out if i might need stitches or glue. There were only two other gentleman at Banner Urgent Care and we all got served quickly. The secretary was efficient and did her job well and Doctor Euphrase Nyokwoyo was extremely gentle, compassionate, positive and funny. He is a genuine sir. I felt so ridiculous that the cut had mostly healed already, but he reassured me it was okay, cleaned up the cut and glued it. I would recommend him to anyone, he's a very humble and sincere physician. read more

I wish I had known there was a closer Banner Urgent Care because the Banner Urgent Care in Avondale has much better reviews. It was convenient setting up an online appointment. What I didn't like was providing my symptoms to the front receptionist on a piece of paper because when the nurse practitioner came in the room she asked me why I was being seen. It communicates that they aren't taking the time or concern to find out from the front desk as to why I've come in. Also, the person who took my vitals was also told of my symptoms (and wrote them down) so WHY in the world would Melony, the nurse practitioner (or doctor) ask me for the symptoms again?? The staff was not friendly or personable. Yes, I know it's a Saturday at 10am but when someone goes to the doctor due to an unexpected illness or body pain then the expectation hopefully is to have some CARE about your well being even if they have to pretend. I bet I was given 2-3 minutes or personal attention and I waited a total of 5 minutes in the room until I was given discharge notes. The staff looked tired, stressed out and unhappy. Took my daughter in for a nose bleed possible sinus infection around 8:15 (they close at 9) and was greeted very rudely by the front desk girl (Carla). When front desk called us up, she said the doctor (Érica Hensman PA-C) stated that because she is not "actively bleeding" from her nose "there is not much the doctor can do" even after we stated that she was coughing up blood clots. As a parent being concerned for a child, I feel as if this was very unprofessional on both the front desk staff and the physician on that shift. I left with my daughter feeling like I could not trust the provider there. As a Banner Employee, I would expect better service from a Banner facility. And I know that not all banner facilities are this inconsiderate of patients care. I had a good experience last night! Lisa was the NP.She was very thorough but her diagnosis for my son and I. The staff were very nice and very efficient. The wait time is not bad because it wasnt that busy. People tend to give bad reviews because of the wait time. Why not go somewhere else with less people. I would give 0 stars if it were an option. The staff here rotates frequently. Sometimes they are great. Currently they are completely incompetent. From the girl in charge of intake to the drs that perform unnecessary tests, just to tell you it's a random virus. Gave the girl doing intake my ID and Ins card. She didn't enter it for either of my kids. She didn't even enter my information. So they both got billed for the visit. I gave them the name and address of the pharmacy we have been using. They sent them to a previous pharmacy. When I tried to call the urgent care to see what happened with the RX the phone # says it's disconnected. So I had to drive back up. When I asked if they knew about the phone # issue, she just smiled and said "yup". We won't be using this one again until I hear they have again changed the entire staff. Went in on 01/11/20 to have the flu symptoms assessed while conveying to the nurse practitioner I exhibited signs of the continued deep cough- shortness of breath-runny nose for close to a week. I clearly conveyed I have asthma so it only complicates things when I get sick. Needless to say when I left I was still in the same boat with no prescription for anything nor a breathing treatment or chest x-ray's. Two day's later I went in to another urgent care facility and right off the bat prescribed the 2 medications and a set of chest x-ray's along with a breathing treatment. After the lengthy wait period of 35 minutes with only one other person in the waiting room and to simply convey to me just rest and take fluids I will not return to this facility. Went to this Banner an hour before close. Nurse verbally told me my prescriptions will be at Walgreens right across the street. Did not pay attention to the papers I was given. They had the wrong Walgreens, the name and date of birth was wrong too. I couldn't do anything till the next morning. Called first thing they said this is going to take some time. Waited an hour, nothing!!!! I physically went to this place, and it WAS NOT being worked on. She told me it's going to take some time, again!! Well, I told her I will wait till it's fixed. Then! She started working on it!!!! I heard her call in the prescriptions, and I gave her the phone number of the Walgreens, since they got that wrong, last night. I was leaving parking lot. Then at stoplight I looked at discharge papers and the name, date of birth was STILL WRONG!!! TURNED AROUND and went back. I said these need to be corrected. I was, honestly, asked "why?" Ummmmmm....because I am taking work off, and I need to show my employer!!!! The lady went into an office and I heard the doctor say "well, if she needs the correct name I will need to examine her" Another examination and he assured me my prescriptions have been called in. I said, "am I going to have any issues because the SECOND discharge papers still had wrong name. He asked, too, why do you need it to show you're name? I WAS SPEECHLESS!!! FOR MY EMPLOYER!!!!! He then went and printed out the CORRECT DISCHARGE PAPERS WITH MY NAME...ETC. I went to Walgreens to get my prescription they didn't have the right insurance!!!!! I had an appointment at 7:10. They ask you to be there 10 minutes early. At 6:54, as I am pulling in, they sent me a text (no call) that my appointment was cancelled. No reason given. I called and got a very rude lady on the phone. All she said was sorry we are closing early. She then told me to try another Banner Urgent Care which was ALSO CLOSED. I called a third location who told me this was not right and told me to head over to be seen. Never go to this location. Shocked. Went there on Sunday due to extreme food pain. My husband helped me walk because I could not walk. 3 minutes convo. The MD did not look at my feet. She took one look at me and said "you must have over done it with walking today, you need better shoes." I told her to look at my shoes again. "Oh yeah, those are good shoes." When I got home my arches were actually convexed and swollen. Again she never inspected my feet. She wanted me out of there. This morning it hit me.....I had gone straight from my volunteer event to urgent care because my husband and friend had to carry me, because i couldnt walk. I volunteereed at the pride festival. I was wearing my rainbow socks and planned parenthood volunteer tshirt. The employees are rude and not helpful. As well as unprofessional. I came into here in my uniform, and the doctor seeing me thought that it was okay to bash the military and say all of her negative opinions about them while she was seeing me. In addition, I got a referral to come here and when I get here, they tell me they don't do referrals, even though the first time I was here (when I was in uniform) I came in based off of a referral and they didn't have any issues with it or even mention anything about it. Wasn't seen until 7:50. To make matter worse they took an additional 15 minute to obtain vitals when I was just there for a X-ray. 20 more minutes to get back to X-ray. Went in for a sinus infection and the Dr. was more worried about testing me for Covid. (Came back negative ...as I thought) She told me I had a sinus infection with a lot of drainage but because it hadn't been 10 days, she would not issue an antibiotic. 3 days later, my right side of my face is swollen, my ears hurt and my teeth hurt from the pressure. Off to my family Dr. with yet another co-pay. Will NOT recommend this facility if you are looking for antibiotics. read more

We brought my 19 month old daughter after a day of having a fever. The practitioner said "her ear was a little red". Prescribed her a antibiotic and told us to continue Tylenol and to start Motrin. Her fever never subsided and so we took her to a pediatric ER the following night. There, we were informed that she had no signs of an ear infection and discontinue the antibiotic. I am extremely disappointed that she was misdiagnosed and sent off. It wasn't busy, we were the only ones there. There wasn't any need to hurry us out of there with the wrong conclusion. Very disappointed and will not recommended this urgent care to anyone, especially to pediatric patients. I reached out this morning to speak with the manager of the urgent care and was told he would call me back. It's been a couple of hours and I have yet received a call. Wish I had the option to give it a ZERO start rating! 24 days after this review and office manager never contacted us. Banner also sent an e-mail that they were working with the urgent care staff on this issue and would contact us....well, no call from them either. Please do not contact us anymore. read more

just left the clinic and had the worst experience I've ever had with banner. They violated HIPPA & THI by talking about my personal treatment plan and or being exposed by coronavirus. I have family that tested positive for the virus that live with me and I was experiencing symptoms and also wanted my son to be tested due to the fact he goes to daycare and I didn't want to potentially expose anyone's child. Lisa Steinberger begin to talk to me about the testing and my symptoms in front of another patient and begin going back and fourth in front of another patient. The patient was in fear that she might get it if I did have it and left. I didn't get tested and she talked down to me as if I was a child and didn't understand the fact that there was a possibility I might not have it. Because there are positive cases in my house and my child goes to daycare and I started to have mild symptoms should've been enough for a test so that we are not spreading it and causing more harm to others. I will be reporting her to the medical board and looking into an attorney about the HIPPA & THI violations. I will also look into the racial profiling that I was exposed to today. read more

What a wonderful urgent care staff and facility. Laura was my NP and I was rather impressed. She listened to what I had to say, even though she probably didn't need to listen to everything. I needed an x-ray and the tech showed up just minutes after Laura left the room. The x-ray tech was also very caring and efficient. I didn't wait very long for the results or the x-ray and Laura made sure I understood the results. She didn't just given me medication to shut me up, like other urgent cares have done. She explained why she didn't. I also want to mention the sweet lady at the front desk. A patient in a wheel chair was going in and the doors aren't automatic so the person pushing the wheel chair was having trouble getting in the door. She got up and ran to the door to assist the people. I have nothing but good things to say about this urgent care and the staff and they were fast. read more

I have tried to find a place to get a Covid-19 test for 2 days. I finally get an appt booked for 6/25. I walk in and am told they are out of test swabs and my boss wouldn't let me call anyone to tell them. I'm a type 1 diabetic with asthma who has now been sick for 6 days and you make me drag myself out of bed to go for a test you don't have. You don't even have the decency to call people!!! It's disgraceful and you should be ashamed. I've now exposed myself to more because you want to make a buck. Shame on you!! I will never return and be sure to tell everyone I know to never go there!! I made an appointment on their website. It took 1 1/2 hours before I was seen by one of the nurse practitioners. I called beforehand to see if I they could send me a text to let me know when they were ready to call me back but the girl told me I would just have to see what appointments are available on their website. After I made my appointment, I got a text message saying it's time to leave your for your appointment. They instruct you to get there 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. What is the point of making an appointment as opposed to just walking in. An appointment is supposed to cut out the wait time, especially important during this current pandemic. After 5 days of a 103 temp it turns out he had strep. A pediatric urgent care would have tested for this. This poor child suffered much longer than necessary. I have been to this Urgent Care twice and will not be back. Very rude from the moment I walked in the door until I left. At one of my visits it was close to them closing, however I asked if they were a still seeing patients, they said yes... from the girl at the Counter to the nurse, then the provider, all very rude and unprofessional towards me and my son who had recently broken his elbow, both the nurse and the provider asked why would I bring him here, they didn't provide and assistance and the provider didn't even feel his elbow or try to treat him so I said we will go elsewhere. She still charged me for doing nothing, no x-ray, or even feeling where the break was. I left upset and would not a sign their papers, still got a bill for $150 plus a $70 deductible. Do not go here. Phoenix Children Urgent Care nearby is better or Nextcare. Not sure how the staff and providers have jobs here, I have spoke to others who said they've also had bad service here and will not return. Only thing nice here is there was not a long wait as I'm sure people prefer seeking medical attention where they dont feel like they are beneath the staff. read more

The facility was nice and clean, the receptionist was friendly and the doctor explained what I needed to do and provide me with the appropriate prescriptions so I could feel better and make my trip back home. The receptionist wasn't rude, but was not friendly either. There were two patients ahead of us, and it only took the doctor 30 minutes to see my 8 month old. The nurse and Doctor were much friendlier than the girl at the front desk. Keep in mind that this office does not specialize in pediatrics. They did, however, properly diagnose my baby. The place is clean and appeared to have most of the proper medical equipment. The office is short staffed, with only a receptionist, nurse and Doctor present. Saw the PA Rich today and have to say I was very impressed with how thorough he was on explaining not only my medical condition, reason for diagnosis and treatment as well as preventative measures for reducing return. Additionally, he was very good at clarifying my question on when I should bring either myself or my family to urgent care vs. taking matters to primary care. He spoke to me like a normal person using a mixture of medical and non-medical terms, and doing so in a manner that was very understandable and logical. I came in at 8 and was there two hours. There were three patients ahead of us. The front office staff was incredibly rude, unprofessional and seemingly just an unhappy person. She violated HIPPA laws by yelling at another patient clear across the lobby. I felt she deliberately kept me waiting longer as it was evident I was upset by her treatment of me. I was told by the (Nurse Practitioner-to be clear there were no doctors at this location) she had been there a long time and it was not the first time someone reported her rudeness. Other patients left while I was there rather than wait although it was dead by then. The medical assistant and front office staff were outside smoking cigarettes as I left. My brother-in-law previously came here with an injured foot and was told it was NOT broken. It was broken in four places and he was off work for four months. The Nurse Practitioner today was fine, meant well, although he suggested that my children were faking to get out of school. I assured him this was not the case. I will NOT BE RETURNING. read more
