You know, most reviews at these types of places and at grocery stores and most fast food chains will be low stars. Only because many people will only write a review because they had a bad experience. I get that. But it doesn't speak for the hundreds and thousands of satisfied customers that have had positive experiences. So here's one of them. And it is also a new review since the last one was about a year ago. I had a really good experience. First of all, the waiting room is large. It is not a small urgent care where you are cramped in with all the other sickies. This, and I'm assuming all Banner Urgent Cares, have appointments and video conferencing. I make that call based on their app. I set up an appointment and was seen within 5 minutes of that appointment time. When I came, there was only a couple of guys there and they were having a conversation. I think they probably were waiting on a patient. There was a woman and her children that eventually came in, too. So it was not busy. The Nurse Practitioner's name was Debbie and she was cheerful. I liked that. I came in to make sure this cold wasn't turning into a sinus infection. She explained the symptoms of a sinus infection and I could immediately tell I wasn't experiencing one. She also wanted to make sure that I didn't want antibiotics as there was nothing that could be done for a virus. She was pleasant, upbeat, and a good communicator. She also didn't charge me for the visit since there was really nothing that she could do. Bonus! Not sure how an urgent care could get five stars. If I think of a reason, maybe I'll come back and change it to five stars. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? I don't know if this place even deserves a star. These people are awefull here expect the front desk lady she was very kind but other then that if there were awards for rude of the year this one takes 1rst prize. I'm absolutely shocked that doctor and the lady that takes you into the back would roll their eyes at me and my daughter and act as if they didn't want us there. I took my daughter to have one of her eyes checked. We followed all the instructions be there ten minutes early , wear a mask wonder how they treat people that don't have insurance probably even worse. When I arrive, the receptionist was very kind and welcoming and got me registered in. I did sit for a little while, but I understand that that's part of the process. Once I got back into the room, the nurse practitioner came in and pretty much made me feel stupid. She Made it seem like I was overreacting and really did not even examine me. when she walked in the room just told me I needed a shot of anit-Inflammatory. After I tried to explain what was going on, she listened to my lungs Real quick and still Left the room and said she'll be back after they gave me the shot. I got the shot 15 minutes later she walked in And asked if it helped I told her a little bit I'm still walking out of here with the pain In my side that I had to begin With. And really no explanation of why my side is hurting the way it is. I really hope that that's The pain goes away . If you can try to find another place to go. I've been to a number of urgent cares over the years. I know they are not a good option and you will be waiting a long time. Not my first rodeo; understood. But I made an appointment and was still there for 2 hours before I just walked out and did a virtual visit. I was in a lot of pain in my back, and mentioned that to the nurse when he said my blood pressure was high, but he just told me I needed to take a piss test and then walked away. I was in the room for about 45 minutes before I finally left. The piss test told me what I needed to know about this place though: they're just there to make money, since an insurance company will not argue a piss test and, with Lab Corp next door, it's easy money for the provider. But, yeah, this was terrible. My past urgent care experience was that they at least feigned concern and interest in your well being, but the staff here just seemed like it was too much to even fake it. It really isn't that much of an effort and it makes a big difference. But being new in town, I now understand what I'm dealing with with Banner and will now avoid them for care. El Rio is not great, but there's at least a minimal effort there and some people around who do seem to genuinely care about you. read more

The wait was short and there was no one there, which should have been a sign to leave... When brought back into a room there was a distinct smell of microwaved food everywhere. If I was in for being nauseous it wouldn't have been pretty. A short haired lady came to take my information and I got an emergency call, which I apologized profusely for but she stomped out of the room. Then a few minutes later a young man came in. I asked him if she was upset and to apologize for the emergency but he refused to look up or make eye contact or recognize I was speaking other than to keep asking questions about medical stuff. Fine. Then the first lady comes back and tells me I'm getting a shot. I ask what for. She says I don't know, here. And gives it to me! I just want to say I came in yesterday to get an X-ray at the Golf links location and was referred to the most outstanding rad tech that I've ever been to in my entire life her name is Patti she did an amazing job, took great care of me made sure I was comfortable and okay the entire time and made it a quick process had me in and out in no time highly recommend. read more

I visited Banner Urgent Care on Campbell on 11/28 for a possible sinus infection since I had an earache and sore throat. Upon arrival for my 8:45 appointment (I finally went in at 9:20) The NP looked in my ear and then my throat and saw nothing so she took my cell phone and stuck it in my mouth to take a picture of my palate. I was told by nurse practitioner Natallia Phillips that I was having a stroke and she was going to call an ambulance to take me to Banner ER. She based her opinion on my bottom lip that was not exactly the same size on both sides. Needless to say I was shocked. I declined and she stated I had to sign a form absolving her of any responsibility. I did and left. Since then I went to my dentist who said my upper palate was singed from eating pizza and the soreness would go away on its own. Then I saw my doctor and he stated I showed no symptoms of stroking. It seemed like we were a real inconvenience to her day. Luckily the nurse practitioner Sarah was kind but overall the experience was poor because of Patty's lack of customer service and caring. I took my husband to Golf Links & Kolb facility. They told me to wear a mask. I am not sick so did not comply. So they sic'd a manager on me who came out into the waiting room with a mask and ordered me to wear it. I said no, you are in health care so you know they don't work. She started talking like she's the parent and I'm the child. I left my sick husband in the waiting room. He soon followed. He couldn't breath w/the mask on but they wouldn't let him stay either. So I took him to our Kinesiologist who helped him immediately: No forced masks, Treated us like adults. Later I tried to pay a bill from a previous visit to the same Banner Facility by phone but could not. Tried their Customer Service but was put on hold. Do not ever go here! Very worried how the practices of medicine are truly earned. How does the head doctor allow their staff to work on patients coughing and sneezing. Then on top of that loose medical tests and of course the most recent covid test. This place is ridiculous! We called every day for 5 days for my child's results to only find out on the 5th day they lost them. We will never return there again and highly recommend if you are able to, stay away! read more

I took my child here because she was sick and it was on a weekend night. The nurse practitioner took a look at my child and said that she had sinusitis and gave her an antibiotic. We then followed up with her primary care physician on Monday. Her pediatrician said that she can't have sinusitis because a child her age, their sinuses are not fully formed until they are older. Also, the medication that was given is usually given to older children who are allergic to penicillin (which she is not). I do not recommend this facility for any small children as they obviously do not have staffed that are knowledgeable in this area, it is very scary to think that staff are not trained or know how to treat people of all ages. read more

Went in today to get seen we had a bad experience with a caucasian male nurse. He was rude to my wife and also in front of the kids too. He likes to belittle and badger woman making them fill small had to have the last word in. Has no moral sense to talk to Women we just took off and never got since by the doctor. Call them later that day to Express my self with the manger she didn't really care about me voicing my Concern about that person. Not even a sorry we will talk to him etc etc!!!!! Ridiculously long wait. Just for physicals. Appointment at 1:55 arrival at 1:35 with 5 people in waiting room. Finally called back at 3:00, left with physicals complete at 4:45. Awful experience for something that should've took 30 minutes max and they weren't busy, short staffed is what they said. If that was the case when I made the appointments and she called to confirm, she could've let me know that this was going to be the case, could've come back another day, not spend almost 4 hours for 2 physicals. I came here because I had something in my eye, I asked the receptionist if they were able to help me with that, she said yes. Waited one hour to be seen when the health care provider came in, she literally just looked at my eye and said we can't help you here. $120 down the drain. I made an an early morning appointment for my sick 3 year old. When I arrived, I was told that there was no physician (or anybody else) on duty to see him and we would have to go to another urgent care. We then went to Banner on Speedway per their recommendation. When we arrived, the first thing out of the receptionists mouth was, "well we cannot accommodate your appointment." The wait was going to be 2.5-3 hours. I was told by an employee at the first Banner that the appointments don't actually mean anything, they are strictly first come first served, regardless of appointments. I called to speak with Annabelle, the urgent care administrator, about my experience with my 3 year old son. She did not answer (I left a voicemail with my phone number and email). I checked in on 28 Feb with raging flu symptoms; massive headache for 2 days, constant nasal drip, constant coughing to where my throat was raw, in and out of fever, body aches, etc. (the hole nine yards). I told the NP symptoms started Monday... so she gives me a Tamiflu script and said I should've started the day before so it would work, huh? I ended up going to my PCP the next day and they gave me a large dose of Ibuprofen, antihistamine/decongestant and Tesselon for my cough so I could finally get some sleep and my PCP told me I might as well stay on the Tamiflu since I already started. I wasted my co-pay cash at this facility, I will not go back. Oh and by the way, the receptionist said I didn't have to pay a co-pay, that my insurance would take care of it...I know I have a copay and how much. Then she asked if I still wanted my receipt? Yes, really. NexCare Urgent Care will be my go-to in the future. The staff was ok, but I was not impressed by any means. The lobby looks like a herd of cats were let go, chairs were all ripped up, shabby to look at.. even while your sick. *The one star rating is simply because I wasn't treated with the proper medications based on my ailment. read more

This place is the worst!! If you can, stay away and here is why: 1. The front desk receptionist is extremely unprofessional and rude. It is clear that she doesn't like her job or care for the patients that have come here to obtain medical attention. 2. The place is a rip-off! They over bill your insurance and you need to be careful of them having your personal information. They don't handle your information with the highest degree of confidentiality. 3. Don't waster your time with the diagnosis and treatment. 4. Your gonna wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. For the amount of time you have to wait, you think they are performing surgery in the back. I probably should have just called my PCP or went to the ER. This is the best Urgent Care facility I've been to in Tucson. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. The only con I can think of is that the parking lot in front is quite small. I've been to this location 2x in 2015. Both for relatively simple, small, issues. The wait times were short, and the staff was professional and attentive. Horrible service, neither urgent nor caring. The person who attended me didn't seem to have basic first aid, basic cross contamination awareness, or any patient care/customer service skills. After yelling at me he stormed out of my care room and proceeded to talk shit about me to other staffers. I walked out at that point and had an Uber driver take me to the emergency room. Today was my first time going in. The VA nurse line referred me after I called them because I ran out of my blood pressure medicine. I thought this place was great! Only one person in the lobby when I got there and they called me back quickly. The tech was very professional and the Doctor was great too! We talked about my situation and they ended up giving me a medication to quickly lower my blood pressure and called in a bridge RX to cover me until my meds showed up in the mail. So ive had to be here twice in the last week. My daughter busted her head and needed stiches. They told me i could come back in 3 to 5 days to get them removed. Because i had waited sooo long last time and shes only a year and a half i decided to check in online to maybe make things smoother... Well apparently their systems were down. I was then told id have to be processed as a walk in which i dont think is fair. After waiting 45 mins in the lobby we got moved to a room and sat there another 30 to 40 minutes. Maybe next time we should ask if we have a confirmation from the online and be taken 1st. I mean how long am i really gonna take to remove stiches... Time management is key. read more

No line, no other patients, there was absolutely no reason our wait times should have been as long as they were especially since it was an open wound/bleeding injury. What's the point... I took my wife to the Banner urgent care at 7066 E Golf Links Rd, Tucson, AZ 85730 after scheduling an appointment for 12:25pm. At 12:05pm we received a text message saying it was time to go to that location which was only 60 seconds away. Upon arriving and checking in we were told it would be an hour wait as the were 4 people ahead of us. After mentioning that we had scheduled an appointment online we were told it didnt matter and that the wait was still an hour. Banner claims "customer obsessed", "relentless improvement" yet this is how they operate. What's the point of an online appointment system if you can't even manage to get patients in when you say you will? Just another reason banner is an epic failure and should not be in business. read more

The lady who came in to talk about the reason I came in was able to get me a copy of my vital statistics quickly and made sure I understood how I would receive my test results and answered all of my questions. I went in late at night due to getting hit by a truck, had some wounds and a swollen elbow, they took care of me right away even though they were due to close, they were very compassionate and understanding due to me also losing my dog in the accident. They did my stitches and x ray at the site and did very good with pain management. All staff were also very patient and made sure I was okay before I left to go home. I took my wife over there a couple of night s ago. She had the unfortunate incident of having the cotton from a q-tip fall off in her ear. Ouch. So, called first to see if they could help her. The receptionist who answered said yes they could help and to come right in. So, I took her. The wait time was short and she was treated very well. Lol It just took a bit of time,but , they treated her well. Got the cooton out and gave her some ear drops and an antibiotic just to stop a possible infection. And today she is doing just fine. Went there with my son today for impacted tooth & gum pain. We checked in 12:05pm. Lady at front desk not very friendly. Place has probably less than 5 people seated. We took a seat & waited for 2 HOURS. Yes, 2 hours! I finally stood up & approached the front desk & asked how much longer are we supposed to wait. Lady at desk was trying to explain to me there are people getting discharged & there's this transition of management & systems & it's going to take a couple of hours (or more, like 4 hours, as what their lone NP told me) but not a single word of warning by the front desk gal when we checked in or not even a courtesy to apologize for the delay. Very unprofessional! I could've taken my kid somewhere else, they're not the only (Banner) Urgent Care in Tucson. I will not come back to this urgent care if I can help it. I would not go here. I was so excited when this center opened (but sad to see the Blockbuster go). We've been in here probably four times the last year. Each time, there is different staff. The last time I took my mom, they did give her a prescription but the medication was not the right kind and she ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. The reason I rate is so low is because I went in one night at 8:25, they close at 9:00. There was a family at the front waiting to talk to someone as they had seen the NP but had no insurance so they were waiting to talk about what they had to pay. I stood at the counter for 15 minutes watching a woman play on her phone in the back, when she noticed me she got up and moved to where I couldn't see her but shortly after a lady did come check me in. I was taken into a room at 8:55 and told they closed in 5 minutes. I was really grossed out how unclean it was. The wall where the hand disinfectant was hanging had a massive amount of disinfectant all over the area. I would have taken a picture and posted it if I had thought I would even OPEN a YELP account to rate this place. When the NP came in I was not surprised to see she was the woman playing on her phone. When she introduced herself to me, she shared with me that she was very tired and couldn't wait to go home as she had been on shift about 12 hours. She then proceeded to actually rolled her eyes when I explained what my problem was which was an inflamed cyst. I explained I knew it was a cyst and that it had become infected and was painful. I asked her to lance it. She said that she had never seen such a thing in 30 years experience and she couldn't just cut it open because that would cause more problems. She gave me an antibiotic and sent me out telling me to come back in the daytime in two or three days if "it didn't go away". Four days later, I couldn't bend my leg. I had four days of antibiotic in me so I called my doctor to see if I could get in. My PCP brought me in the next afternoon. By then the cyst had made a head and was oozing yellow cottage cheese "stuff" down my leg. My doctor immediately lanced it and relieved the pressure. She told me the antibiotics had done nothing because they were for a yeast infection. My PCP gave me an alternative antibiotic and I was great in a few days. read more

I am from out of town, so they charged me $75 cash before they would let me see a provider, who did absolutely nothing to help me. She gave me a script for something to dry my skin inside my ear instead but refused to give me an antibiotic for my raging infected ear drum. She sent me off with a script that 6 different pharmacies would not fill. So I went back to the receptionist of this urgent care, and she told me that i would have to return to a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to call them with the problem. She forgot to tell me that their phone number was incorrect and no calls can get through because they have not set up the phone lines yet. By now I am sobbing with a pounding head from the earache and wasted 3 hours of back and forth. Now my insurance has paid them in full and they won't refund my $75.00. read more
