Sunday, 2/28 we had a reservation. When we arrived, we were seated promptly on the 2nd level. That is the only thing that went well. After being seated, no one came to our table for over 20 minutes. My friend out of frustration went up to the bar to inform them. A waitress came to our table 5 minutes later with glasses of water with no ice in them. Flat water with something floating in them. Ordered the stake salad. Waited for some time. Waitress came to the table to say they were out of steak. I ordered the Fish & Chip. Came back again to say they were out of fish. Ordered a burger. When it came I noticed that the bacon jam was not on it. Asked a waiter walking by to get it for me. Nope, he brought back ketchup. The service was not great at all. How disappointing. The food was plated and presented as if they threw it together. We paid the bill and left. Poor service, but still gave the waitress a 25 percent tip. Poor food, but still had to pay for it. I'm curious how Banners handle these matters. read more

Was looking for a quick bite to eat while heading to TD garden for a Maroon 5 concert and this was one of the few spots around the garden that didn't have a 40 minute wait. While there was a 30 minute wait for an actual table we were free to sit at the bar get drinks and order food with no wait which was fine by me. Once we sat down we were tended to fairly quickly and immediately ordered the pulled pork burger as well as the smash burger both served with fries. The portions were amazing however the flavor was lacking on both burgers. The fries although tasty was covered in grease and a bit hard to eat the whole platter. The restaurant it self is absolutely gorgeous a vast amount of seating, a virtual golf lounge, 3 different bar seating, several TVs, and a wrap around 2nd floor where you can see the entirety of the first floor perfectly as shown in the pictures. Overall, the spot wasn't too bad but it is definitely sports bar more than a restaurant and I probably wouldn't go if you are looking for out of this world food. read more

My friends and I decided to come here last minute for some hangover cures this past Sunday before the Pats game. Although the actual restaurant was a bit annoying to get to (lots of stairs), the restaurant was spacious and clean. We got a round of mimosas which would pretty average. Maybe a bit OJ heavy. Then, we ordered onion rings to share and were disappointed in how tough and flakey they were. It was nearly impossible to eat the actual onion. The rings were too large and I think had too much skin left on them. The spicy ketchup was tasty, however. I struggled to get and keep our waiters attention. After asking him if we could order he ran off to get something and didn't come back for 20 minutes. It was frustrating because we were watching the waiters talk in a huddle while waiting to be tended to. For my main, I got the Fat Rooster Fried Chicken sandwich with fries. It was delicious and HUGE. Great deal. The fries were the perfect thinness and crispiness but could've used a bit more salt. I wish they kept seasonings and condiments on the table! Banners was packed on the night of a Katy Perry concert! We opted to stand at a table for no wait. Great beer selection. We just got apps - the guacamole and chips were phenomenal. Better guacamole than ive had at a lot of Mexican joints. However the BBQ chicken and pickle flatberad was a bust. Pickles had no flavor, chicken was mediocre. Great place for a group hang out! Weekday night is perfect (at least not during peak Celtics season) because it's spacious, not crowded, and not too loud. The inside is nice and new and there are TVs all around. Our favorite foods of the night were the hot honey flatbread and the wings. They don't have a formal dessert menu but we asked and they have churro donuts and vanilla or chocolate gelato - the donuts were delicious. read more

Completely Unacceptable Service We went to Banners today for dinner around 7 pm with my wife and our toddler and left without ever being served. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated immediately, yet we were ignored for over 15 minutes. No greeting, no water, no acknowledgment of any kind. During this time, few tables seated after us were actively served, with servers occasionally checking on them and others, while clearly seeing us waiting. One server serving the adjacent table intentionally avoided eye contact and later sat down checking his phone instead of helping us. Another staff member stood nearby, looked directly at our table, laughed with the same server, and still made no effort to assist. It was deeply unprofessional and frankly disrespectful -- a family patiently waiting with a toddler seemed more like a joke to them than paying customers. At least three staff members were standing idle within feet of us, yet no one took responsibility. We ultimately decided to leave. The manager offered to reseat us and promised better service, but by then the dismissive treatment had already ruined the evening. This was not a busy-night issue -- it was a clear failure of professionalism, accountability, and basic hospitality. Management needs to seriously address staff behavior. My double vodka was nice and strong, and my better half enjoyed her Cosmo. Our order of wings was great. The wings were huge. As was our Turkey Club and burger with side salads (Trying to eat healthy. Yeah, right). We left stuffed. We were heading to a Celtics game on our recent trip to Boston and figured Banners would be a good spot to grab some food before tip off. We arrived about 1.5-2 hrs before game time expecting to wait a bit. Not too bad for two people though as we waited for about 30-45 minutes. We knew we were getting some food and drinks during the game as well so we just opted for some apps. We got the pretzels and beer cheese, my fav of the two. The beer cheese was good, and served with two hot pretzels, the perfect app to share. The nachos were good as well, but be prepared, these were huge! My girlfriend and I both thought we could have just got the nachos and it would have been plenty! Decent flavor on the nachos but nothing too special IMO. They also have a huge 40 foot screen behind the bar area so even if you're not going to a game, it'd be a great spot to watch! We recently stopped into Banners for some drinks and apps before the Bruins game. We got sat at a nice big table away from the crowd, and even though the service was slightly slow, it was to be expected because it was packed. I honestly wouldn't go for the cocktails here. If you're drinking, go for beer/seltzers, etc. The cocktails are pretty sugary and not strong. For food, we ordered Nachos, Clothesline Smoked Bacon, Chilli Cheese Fries, and Churro Donuts. My favorite things were the bacon and the churro donuts, omg they were so good. Its not gourmet food, and its not meant to be, but its a perfect sports bar atmosphere and super convenient before games or shows at the garden! read more

I went to Banners on a Sunday, around 11:30 on a Sunday in the Fall with 4 others. We were basically the only people there at that time but it slowly started filling up closer to 1, when the Patriots game started. We ordered a few beers and nachos, buffalo chicken dip and wings. Our dip and nachos came after a few minutes, but the chicken wings came after 20 minutes. The dip was tasty and the nachos were loaded- but the chips became soggy after only a few minutes at the table. We had ordered 3 pounds of buffalo wings but we only 1 pound came originally and we had to flag down our server. And when the wings came to our table we discovered that they were not sauced, and the sauce was provided in tin containers on the side. Also, our plates were being taken from us by the waitstaff while we still had food on the table- which was very inconvenient, it seemed like they didnt have enough plates when the restaurant was full during the slate of NFL games. It was a lot of fun to watch the games there but the food and service was nothing to write home about. read more

Wow! What an awesome sports bar. My wife and I stopped in for a beer and food before catching our train back to Maine. Jimmy our server was super attentive and brought us water straight away and made great recommendations for beer and cocktails. Food beer and cocktails came out super fast and portions were great. We had the roast beef sandwich and beer cheese pretzels. Sandwich was great, pretzels were good (the mustard was great, the beer cheese..so-so). The sports TV wall was amazing. Prices were reasonable for such an awesome venue. It was pretty cool to see all the Bruins fans start to fill the place up as there was a game that evening. Waiter, never mentioned his name, took 15 minutes to arrive at our table, said nothing, spilled water on our table (said nothing about that either...) and just took our order. Took another 15 minutes for drinks to show up and then our meals started to show up a couple at a time, last one showed up 20 minutes after the first. Waiter did say "thank you for your patience" at the end (as if we had a choice...). Banners is a good sports bar. It has so many TV's. Tv's everywhere. High end tvs with that great picture so you won't miss anything. It's a cool spot. Came a couple years back and my initial review was that the food was overpriced and the service was beyond poor. Decided to try again 3 years later and sadly nothing has changed. I showed up on a quiet Sunday night with my fiance and we wanted to sit at the bar to get a drink and watch the Miami game. There were 8 bar seats open but each one of them had food on them. We walked over to one of those seats and thought that the bartender or a staff member would clean up the area. After about 6 minutes we took matters into our own hands and cleaned up the seat. After 10 minutes of sitting at a dirty seat the bartender told us he would be with us shortly. I said okay but asked for a wet rag to clean the area. He said yes but then forgot. About 10 minutes later he asked us for our drinks and then forgot them about two minutes later. Planned on having a meal here but decided to leave after 20 minutes of subpar service. I went before the Celtics game - granted it was a busy night and the location is great. However, the place was a disaster. Was told at the front desk that they had no table availability but I could go to the 2nd floor bar area. I'm totally fine with standing so it wasn't a big deal. The 3 staff members at the 2nd floor front desk were all on their phones and didn't speak just shook their heads, my pretzel appetizer order took over 35 minutes to receive and the wait staff seemed to be running around with no mission. One waitress told me kitchen didn't have enough help - made sense.
