My two friends treated me since I had not been here. We went to Walk-Ons after for real food considering this the appetizer! I quickly realized why they weren't quick to try this place. For the prices, it is a trashy atmosphere, bathroom quite gross, and a dreary half remodeled repossed look everywhere. The dingy appeal would be fine with prices half what they are. I'm surprised amidst all the wealth of this corner it survives! Our dumplings, pork and beef, were served quickly and tasted fresh. Nothing special or sticking in my mind, Pocha, Kitami, and Kinn are much better Asian spots offering sensational dining vibes and excellent menus. It was around 7pm when we got here, and I was really hungry. Food was very satisfying after a 3 hour drive, it's a great place to grab good food that'll fill you up! The dumplings were juicy and delicious, super fresh and piping hot. Beef noodle soup came with slices of braised beef and a boiled egg, Comes in a simple broth, wish this one came with veggies, I may have ordered the wrong one. They do have a self serve sauce bar to the left of the counter to make your own dipping sauce for the dumplings. There's water and hot tea you can serve yourself. The restaurant was somewhat clean, tables needed to be wiped down, and not a fan of the tabling decor. But otherwise food is decent, very satisfied with the dumplings! read more

Pork and Cabbage Dumplings (5/5) -- These dumplings are the best in the area!! So flavorful and there is soup inside, which adds to the experience. This place was such a fun little find located in a little strip mall in west Lafayette within walking distance of Purdue's campus. Sending our oldest off to college in the cornfields of Indiana made us a bit nervous about the diverse food options, it we were pleasantly surprised to find not only this gem, but lots of other ethnic restaurants (a lot of authentic Asian food which is just *chef's kiss*) The menu isn't huge, but the hand pulled noodle choices were legit as were the dumplings! Maybe my expectation was too high since I am from LA.. but I found the noodle to be too al dente/under cooked, the sesame sauce was lacking in nuttiness but was saltier than what I typically expect, and the dumpling was a bit under seasoned. Rolling the dumpling in chilli oil and soy sauce mixture made it better - maybe that was the intention?? The texture of the dumpling was nice and doughy. Was walking to another restaurant when I saw this sign. Did not know it existed. Stopped in and the cashier was very friendly. ordering was relatively straightforward. I had braise beef and a batch of 16 pork dumplings with vegetables. There is an area to create your own sauces. The area is nothing to look at - a bit haphazard actually. But the ingredients were good so that was nice. The beef was cold in spots. Overall it was cooked nicely - mostly tender. Dipped in a vinegar/garlic/spice blend. The dumplings are not what I am used to as "bao" but rather Gyoza/Jiaozi. (I didn't look too closely at the menu and thought these would be more like mini-bao.) They were really good. Only downside is you must order 16 of the same - no mix and matching different fillings. Since 16 dumplings is too many for one person, I do wish you could do 8. The dining room was festooned in New Year colors and that really made it nice. Without the decorations, it could be a little sad in there. Our family ordered 48 dumplings. We got one order of the shrimp egg and leek, one order of pork and leek dumplings, and one order of beef and green onion dumplings. I honestly couldn't taste a difference between the beef and pork but they were very good. The shrimp, egg, and leek dumplings were tasty too.
