i had to go to the ER at Doctor's Hospital for pain and swelling in my elbow which turned out to be and a cellulitis infection and bursitis. The attention i received was excellent. Nurses Amanda and Irelys were very attentive and efficient. Dr. Miro was great. She had a wonderful bedside manner and was very methodic in how she proceeded to make her diagnosis. I had to get an xray and an ultrasound, both of which occured expeditiously. This is what an ER visit should look like when a pateint arrives in pain and nervous, a place where the patient will feel reassured and well taken care of becuse the professionals and snsitive, caring and comptent. 5 stars for the Doctor's Hospital team that treated me read more

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Amanda Ramos (Raw/ah-mos). I am 25 years old and perhaps for the first time I went to Baptist Hospital in Coral Gables since I made the mistake of taking four pills in one night when I was only prescribed to take two not only at night but also in the morning. At 11:50PM, I went to the emergency room to get checked out, while I was there I began to cry because of the amount of regret I was feeling. Even though some of the employees seemed nice and helpful, what I didn't like is that their policy sucks and so were the questions I was asked. For example, were you planning on killing yourself or were you thinking about killing yourself when I said that I ONLY thought about doing that in my fantasy world. Instead I had a stupid security guard show up out of the blue to steal my sneakers and Snow White-themed backpack purse with my personal belongings which I did not even complain about and a nurse just sat in my room doing nothing. I also hate when I had to spend the night not getting enough sleep with a bunch of employees raising their voices and sticking needles in my right arm and wires all over my body as a way to turn my former hospital room into my very own Alcatraz. What a nightmare! So Is not being able to pee in a cup with a needle in my right arm where alot of blood spilled all over my right arm while I was patiently waiting to use the bathroom. I hate when I had to sign a paper in order to be discharged and that I had to stay overnight when I never wanted to. I'm so relieved to be home with my family where I belong. Honestly shocked at how good this hospital experience was. From the ER to getting sent home, shout outs to all of the nurses, food personnel, physical therapists, doctors, social workers, and everyone else that made my time in the hospital the least unpleasant possible. Facility is nice. Room wasn't too big but didn't feel cramped. It had a good reclining chair for a guest. Guest was allowed to stay with me 24/7 at time of writing and slept comfortably. Food was def hospital food, but some of the better hospital food I've experienced. The thoughtful dining staff did a good job personalizing and making sure my needs were met as a vegetarian. Speaking of the staff, everyone was efficient and attentive. I was checked in on for medical reasons and comfort reasons at a very good cadence. Not overly often, but I also never felt neglected. When I did have to call someone, they came quickly. I was very impressed at how clear it was that my whole care team was communicating. I would mention a detail to one person, and the next person would come in already knowing. Thank you all! If I need to go to the hospital again (plz no), I will certainly pick this hospital over others in the area. read more

Don't have the option of leaving NO STARS. I absolutely love doctors hospital but today I had literally the worst experience I've ever had in a hospital. "Dr." Karin Arnold-Donald was the absolute worst doctor I've ever had in my life. Disrespectful, terrible bed side manners, and all around a shit person. How can you dedicate yourself to helping others when you're such a rude person. Not to mention she also sent me home with HALF of my results. HALF!!!! Unfortunately, I got very sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. Since I have records at Baptist Hospital, we decided to go here, which was the closest location from downtown Miami (about 30 minutes). I was admitted and stayed for 3 days in February 2022. The emergency room staff was fast and helpful. The nurses were friendly and sympathetic. They explained everything to me and tried their best to keep me calm and comfortable. Once in a room at the hospital, I was assigned to different doctors and nurses. This part was not so good. The nurses were not as attentive, and I felt a bit lost and forgotten. The main doctor on duty and assigned to me appeared exhausted, which worried me. I didn't see him much at all - maybe twice - and each time only for about 5 minutes. Fortunately, there was a doctor specialized in infectious diseases who was always very attentive to my health, progress, and diagnosis. The surgery department was also excellent. They came to see me every morning and attended to my wound. Surgery staff was attentive and professional. In general, I have mixed feelings about this hospital. Some doctors were great while others not so much. Nurses the same thing. ER nurses were great but in my room not so much. One thing that was always good was the food. To my surprise, the food was excellent. Definitely not the typical hospital food. Delicious food served hot. They always gave me hot coffee with every meal. Big plus. The hospital was clean and my room was swept everyday. However, they never changed my bed sheets or hospital gown. I stayed with the same gown from the ER for 2 days. I had to ask for a clean one once I felt better. The sheets got dirty but they were never changed even after I suggested it to one of the nurses. The nurses on my floor were not on top of things, and they didn't have a warm personality. Maybe they were too busy... My husband told me it was difficult to get parking since the garage is small and busy. The experience was not the best, but I am thankful that they took care of me and I got better to go home. read more

In the land where hospitals don't care anymore about patients, whether Urgent Care or Hospital Emergency rooms I found myself at the doors of Doctors Hospital really not expecting any better....STOP.... I have finally entered a real hospital where Doctors and nurses still do their jobs and take care of their patients with care and dignity. From the moment I entered the emergency room to the moment we left I knew these hospital and staff was there to help, it showed in every detail from beginning to end how invested they really are on their patients. The process in being treated was top notch, , we didn't have to wait for a Dr. for hours no end or for blood work to be done, or for a scan for two hours. The male nurse we had was incredible, his bed side manor amazing. So in a world where hospitals like this don't exist anymore Doctors Hospital is a rare gem, I will drive there out of my way bleeding with my life hanging on a thread so I know I'm in the capable hands of a hospital and staff that cares. I've been a patient here a few times and I must admit I have had nothing but the best experience here. This hospital is Know for their specialty in sports medicine and Orthopedics. I was last seen here for an on the job injury. I was brought in by rescue and put into a room immediately. With in seconds I was greeted by the nurse and tech. They asked about the history of my injury and took my vitals. The physician came in shortly after and explained to me the treatment plan. I had an X-ray done within the hour and I was splinted and discharged all under 2hours. Staff was professional and kind. I was impressed by the fast service. I will be coming back here if needed. My mother and I came to doctors hospital through ER to get an answer to a pain that had been progressively getting worse on her abdomen. Upon arrival there were about Five patients in front of us. Within the hour we were inside the ER, in a room. While the care and social skills of the nurses and Drs have been to par, there is a note I would like to point out. While it is understandable the nurses and doctors in emergency rooms work in a very fast-paced environment, it is also very important to recognize the levels of anxiety created by such a steadfast ever-changing group of people to come in and out of the room most of the time asking the same questions. Which leads you to wonder, is anyone really listening? Goes goes without saying that hospitals take vantage of good health insurance and suck it dry. Prior to arriving here today, my mother had gone to the doctor multiple times this week, various doctors. She got a number of tests done which include an MRI, and bloodwork. Still, here she had to take every single one of those tests again. The medical field privatized or publicized should maintain a universal level of communication. Another destructive thing that I caught is the fact of the second I stepped away from my mom to go to the cafeteria and buy myself a salad, they slipped a "benzo" in her mouth after I had specifically mentioned that she's not a pill taker, and normally does not go beyond taking her vitamins When it comes to pills. I found that really insulting... And that pill probably cost around $15-$18, not gonna lie. Aside from that, the cafeteria food is great. The people are friendly and the spaces are clean... but as medical Professionals, I believe people should hesitate a bit more when it comes to dropping pills into their patients mouth as an answer or solution to a temporary problem. I know it probably does not mean munch seeing how I mentioned she is not a pill take care and yet they still gave her that pill... This is the reason I'm giving you all three stars. read more

This is an excellent hospital that specializes in orthopedics, fractures and trauma. I had surgery, hospitalization and post-surgery care under this medical practice (Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is inside). The doctors and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. When attending post-surgery visits you can drop you car at the complimentary valet and request a wheelchair, they will wheel you all the way to where you need to go which is very helpful when recovering from a leg fracture. Overall these doctors are the BEST in their field. I highly recommend them. read more

The doctors on call are useless . They do not answer when the nurses call. And the nurses can not do anything without they approval. So you are on your own.the surgeon on call says something and the doctor on call says something completely different. I like Doctors. It is a small community hospital and the folks there are very nice....been there three times. This visit was for an MRI and the tech Luis was very helpful as I was adjusting to the tight confines of the MRI. I will say I made it through but it was an experience I really do not want to repeat. I am actually too broad in the shoulders for the tube. I was all crunched into the tube....making an already claustrophobic event worse. Luis was patient and we got through the 40 minutes of imaging. I will say John the weekend registration person was also very professional and a pleasure to work with. Will think twice about ever coming here again. i went with my 92 year old mother for an imaging appointment that was never fulfilled due to the lack of efficiency and communication within the admitting departments. I had to go to the ER last week and did not hesitate to head to Doctors Hospital. What a disappointment! What happened to this once outstanding ER? FERPA was violated upon arrival as I had to provide my full medical history right in the reception area. Why? I don't mind sharing "what brought you to the ER?" Nurses were good and made sure I was comfortable. The ER doctor was absolutely terrible. Asking the same question over and over and mind you I had answered all of them twice before. Read the nurses notes, Dr! It took him a good while to reluctantly examine my right arm. The man failed to order the required ultrasound to make certain blood clots had not developed in my arm. A male tech inserted a too big a needle to draw blood and left me with a terrible looking bruise. My blood was NOT LABELED not even with my name. When I asked I was told blood is not labeled until doctor gives blood work order. I don't believe this but witnessed it. This is the best hospital ever. I was in the ER yesterday with bad stomach pain and unsure of what I had.. had been vomiting for 3 days and hadn't eaten for 5. My doctor recommended I go to the ER for blood work. I waited in the ER for about 20 minutes before speaking to a nurse and then waited another 30 before I was taken into a room. Once I got into the room, I met with a nurse. Then another nurse came in and drew blood. Then, another nurse named Michelle came in and offered me water or anything else I needed. I met with a doctor. I waited 20Minutes, I went into an abdominal ultrasound. I got the results from both ultrasound and blood test by the doctor. Michelle came back various times. They gave me potassium. The valet was closing while I was in ER and he brought me my keys and left the car in the front because it was raining. Today I feel 50 percent better. They even called to see how I was doing. The reason I spelled out my experience is so you could note how efficient this ER is. If I had been at another hospital, I wouldn't have even been admitted by the time I was treated here. These people are amazing, highly qualified and speak service, which is very hard to find in Miami in the health industry. Trust me, trust baptist at Doctors. It's convenient, clean and the service is one of a kind. read more

If going to a hospital were enjoyable, this would be the hospital to make it so. Although I cannot speak as a patient, given that I have never been a patient at Doctors Hospital, I have heard nothing but good things about this hospital. A friend of my mother's had this as her preferred hospital, and well, she is quite a difficult lady to please. That aside, the few times I have gone have been to go to South Florida Gynecologic Oncology, located in this hospital, I have always been floored by the hospitality. To get there, it has always been easy. First, go to the hospital and get parking. The parking is free, even the valet, although I usually have no problems and just park in the garage near the Medical Arts building. Leave the garage and go to the nearest building, the Medical Arts building. Once there, the amount of signs is insane. You cannot get lost in here. They even have blue and green dots on the floor directing you to where you need to go. I take the green dots to get to my destination, South Florida Gynecologic Oncology, and I am always met by security. They take a photo and are always very courteous. At this point, the dots stop, so I always ask where to go. The security guards are always very kind and I am on my way. On the off chance I get lost, there are signs everywhere. Seriously speaking, this is probably the nicest and most organized hospital I have been to; it almost makes it an enjoyable experience. read more

I am absolutely disappointed with the service this hospital has provided me. I had gone to Dr. Leunam J. Rodriguez to complete two test required for school. They completed my TB test, but not my drug screening. It took them almost an entire month of me emailing and calling his medical assistant, Natalia Gomez, for them to let me know my other test had not even been completed. They had taken my blood and urine sample so I was confused why the test was not completed, but mistakes happen so I went in to re do the test. This time they messed up again and did the wrong test. I have called and emailed and they are ignoring me completely. This is horrible service especially coming from people working in the medical field. I would at least expect them to own up to their mistake and respond to me but they don't even have enough respect for their patients to do that. I do not recommend this location at all. read more

We took my grandmother here and she loved it. She was very pleased with the care she received from her doctor, nurses and all staff overall. They made sure she was comfortable at all times, and gave her amazing food. She gets cold easily, and they were kind enough to give her a few warm blankets as well (it's the small things). Doctors Hospital located in the heart of the University of Miami it has been a wonderful place for the past three years. I've been going down to visit my doctor; Dr. Penalvert in the third floor and the service at this place it's phenomenal. A friend of mine had recommend me to his hospital and now I understand why they talk so well about it. First off they offer complimentary valet parking for their guests and this is not just any complimentary valet parking but also they give you their smile ( and those are important to me ) and they try to help you as much as they can, remember that you have people here coming sick or living out of a surgery or something like that so they're very nice. As soon as you get into the lobby you are a greeted from a person in the front desk where they ask you for your information and give you a visitor pass which I found a very secure. There's also a gift store and a bakery and they offer a wonderful coffee, pastries and juices. This place is always neat. Came to this hospital recently for a hospitalized family member. This hospital out of all the baptist and any other hospital that i have visited really impressed me. Besides the standard cleanliness expected from a reputable hospital and trained staff I found a little more than that. I guess you could say the little extra in the ordinary. I stayed several overnights and long afternoon. The nurses are extremely polite and nice. Some nurses are a bit rough sometimes, maybe because of the long hours. Here even though nurses worked very long hours ans sleepless nights the treatment, care and most importantly the attention to the patient did not change a bit. I was truly blessed by having Victor Duelan, RN who really made the difference. He was extremely unconscious and paid attention to every detail, never neglecting the smallest changes and ordering the proper diagnostics. The times that I stay the nurse assistant who was there most nights Jazmin Johnson would check on me often and made sure I had warm blankets and comfortable throughout my stay. The entire team was polite and would not only asked permission to draw samples but they were compassionate and extremely efficient. Truly impressed how the situation was handled, fast and with the utmost efficiency. Having a great team is extremely important and it can be beneficial or detrimental. I am very lucky that I was able to have in my path such skill professionals. I will never forget the treatment and care that me and my family received here. Brought my GF here with severe abdominal pain. She was in triage before I even got back from parking the car. Within 10min, she was in an ER room. She wound up staying in observation for 2 days. The staff was wonderful; the doctors ACTUALLY LISTENED, the nurses were attentive, and the support staff was amazing. The imaging technicians were friendly and explained everything in detail in regards to the test they were going to perform on her. The only drawback, as is the case with most hospitals, is the time it took for everything to get done. They said that the ultrasound would be at 3am, it wound up being at 6am. The nuclear scan was supposed to be in the morning, it wound up being at 315pm. I know those things arent really under anyone's control, but it would have been nice to have an idea when the times changed so we weren't getting anxious waiting. Overall, a great hospital. Very clean with a wonderful staff. Would definitely go back there, but let's hope I don't have to. :) read more

I've been here a few times, and this is the only hospital I feel comfortable going to! It's never crowded and I'm usually the only patient in the emergency room which is very nice. It's very calming in moments when you feel like a nervous wreck! This place is nothing like the chaotic emergency rooms of larger hospitals. The staff is very friendly and make you feel good. Yup. Covid caught up with me. That should be enough to make you turn off your laptop and make sure you are not in the same city as I am. In any event started feeling a little rough and went for a Covid test. Positive. Two days later with my blood O2 at 88 I had a Telemed appointment with an urgent care facility. They told me to immediately go to the ER. Checked out reviews of a couple of hospitals ERs near me and did not like what I read. So I headed for Doctors Hospital/ Baptist Health in Coral Gables. A bit of a drive but a totally great decision. ER waiting room was empty. A medical professional zoomed out within three minutes, decked out in what appeared to be full hazmat and ran a couple of quick tests. I was immediately hustled back into the ER treatment area and into a small private room. Doctors and nurses stream in and more tests ensued. Within an hour I was admitted and in a private room on the Covid floor. Every medical professional who attended to me over the next 24 hours was caring, helpful, concerned, and attentive to needs hour by hour. Blood tests, IV drips, x-ray, and finally a CT scan of my lungs happily revealed no pneumonia and no blood clots. After 24 hours was released, certainly not cured but apparently in little danger of taking a turn for the worse. Now sitting at home doing absolutely nothing, slowly getting better. Bottom line: even in good situations when you're dealing with a number of people there's usually at least one individual who is not the best. Sketchy attitude, questionable skills, whatever. That was 100% not the case at Doctors Hospital. Everyone from the skilled doctors to the lovely lady who kept my room clean were stellar. Kept me informed, showed concern, checked regularly to see if I needed anything. Even the food was surprisingly good! Best advice: stay well and stay out of the hospital. But if you have to go and you are anywhere in the Miami area, this is where you want to be. read more

I went to Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables today for a CTA ordered by my cardiologist. The technician who performed the exam for me, René, (sorry I don't know his family name) was completely professional, informative and friendly. He inspired a great deal of confidence in him and he actually made the experience enjoyable. I commend Doctors Hospital for having him on its staff. I have had many medical tests in several hospitals over the years, but I would have to say that this one was the best ever.
