The whole nurse team treated me incredibly kind throughout my stay, especially when I told them I was nervous about some testing they were about to do. They kept me calm and treated me with the utmost care. Every person that I interacted with did honestly - the anesthesiologist, surgeon team, front desk, cafeteria workers (who went above and beyond to get me something to eat when the ordering system was down!) and even the person transporting me to the pre-op room! They were also incredibly knowledgeable and cared about me personally. I was in a room in the new tower apparently, which was very spacious and comfortable. There was a couch that converted into a makeshift bed for a visitor as well. I believe visiting hours are 9am-9pm. Coming back in for a post-op appointment was great as well. The front desk was helpful and pointed me in the right direction, and the medical assistant and doctor were professional and friendly. I would absolutely recommend UF Health North to anyone! Great experience.

I'm not saying that doesn't happen, but I am saying that not everyone who comes in for treatment is seeking drugs. What I appreciate most about the team here is that they always treat me with kindness, respect, and compassion--no matter how many times I've had to come in for care.

The provider prescribed antibiotics and specifically suggested I might need to miss work Wednesday and Thursday, advising me to rest and return if I wasn't improving. By Wednesday I was still very ill, so I called to ask for a work excuse note. Shockingly, I was told they could not provide one since it had been "two days" since my visit. When I asked if I could come in for reevaluation to get a note, they said yes--then immediately called me back to say that even if I came in for another sick visit, they still would not issue a note. I was left with no choice but to go back to work, feeling terrible and contagious. The next day, my daughter spiked a 102 fever. On Friday, I took both kids to their pediatrician (NOT this clinic) where they both tested positive for COVID. That means I was almost certainly positive at Amelia, despite their negative test. At the time, I had already suspected the swab wasn't done properly since the staff looked hesitant to get close enough for a proper sample. Turns out, I was right. Because of their poor testing and refusal to provide a simple work excuse--something their own provider suggested--I ended up working nearly three days while sick and unknowingly spreading COVID to others. This was not only negligent for me and my family, but also unsafe for the community. I will not be returning here and cannot recommend this clinic. If you're sick, I strongly suggest going elsewhere for care that actually protects patients and the public.

I was looking forward to it because I would be receiving my new hearing aids on this visit. Prior to that, I was given a full hearing exam and it was good to hear that things were mostly the same and no further decline. My audiologist was caring and pretty outstanding in her knowledge and professionalism. I thought she went above board to see that I was taken care of well. My hearing aids were in perfect order and easy to set up once I got home. And thankfully performing very well since! This facility is large. We don't take photos inside the VA Clinics, so the exterior photo will have to do here. We always respect the Vets! I will say my only slight negative is that the staff at the counter for check-in are at times short with me. I'm pretty sure they get treated rough on occasion and get difficult requests. But it's an observation and I hold nothing against them. I just patiently endure! But, overall I've been happy with my visits and hope to keep this audiologist and make future visits as the hearing aids need servicing. After all, Ellianos is only a few blocks away!!

To no avail, after several attempts contacting the patient advocate and 3rd fl NM Terri and leaving…read moremessages, I felt I had no choice but to document the experience I had with a nurse from Weaver 3. Her lying and lack of care needs to be addressed. Upon admission to the hospital I stated that I am a "hard stick"which means it's very difficult to get blood from me and an IV in my arm. I stated that most times an ultrasound is needed or what they now use conveniently a "vein finder." I read from many patients that we have the right to request another nurse if one nurse fails the first or second time. When an ultrasound or vein finder is used, it's very easy to find a vein for me and a place for the IV to go so that medication is not just going into my arm, which is what happened in both arms, they swelled up. One arm was so swollen because they tried four times and was moving the needle around trying to find the vein. After telling them I wanted them to use the machine they did not listen and continued to poke me, even the assistant nurse manager. After being unsuccessful, I go and I read my notes in my file and the nurse lied and said that I denied having my blood withdrawn, which isn't the truth. After they poked me four times I then said can you please get the ultrasound or vein finder. That nurse did not come back for four hours and what did she have in hand, the vein finder and the result, she got blood. But she went into my notes and lied, and said that I refused to have my blood taken. Earlier that morning I had spoken with the nurse manager regarding the difficulty withdrawing blood from my arm and how I normally need an ultrasound and she seemed to have acknowledged and understood the issue, but yet hours later, I ran into this problem with two nurses. When I confronted the nurse about her notes, in retaliation she withheld my high blood pressure medication and tried to blame the CNA by saying that the CNA never told her my blood pressure was high. That was an outright lie because I heard the CNA tell her over the phone that my blood pressure was high. She said she was on a break and never came in to check on me after. She did not address the high blood pressure until four hours later after her break. My last five readings had been 169 and above, and nobody addressed it. In her notes she said I refused to have my blood taken and said that the machine was broken. I said I wasn't aware that my blood pressure was high and that I thought maybe the machine might be broken because it was getting really tight when it took my pressure and since nobody was addressing it, I didn't think there was anything wrong. I knew I felt tired and had shortness of breath and a headache. But that isn't abnormal for me, I often get headaches, even though this one was a tension headache, which I normally don't get. The shortness of breath I thought was my asthma, and I thought I was tired because they wake you up every few hours to take your blood pressure. The bottom line is the nurse didn't address it and in the notes she makes it seem like it's my fault and that I was being uncooperative. I was never an uncooperative patient. If you read everybody else's notes, I was never a problem. One nurse did mention that I require an ultrasound or vein Finder, which is just for confirmation that I allow them to stick me. I allowed them to move that needle all over the place and hurt me and bruise my arm up. I allowed them to put an IV in even though everything was going into the arm and not my Vein. I allowed them to do all those things. I have a pressure ulcer on my buttocks that they never took care of and then they discharged me with a bloody pressure ulcer with no medication, no bandages, no instructions. I feel like this qualifies as neglect on the nurses part and I plan on pursuing a conversation with my lawyer. This nurse needs to be reprimanded and honestly replaced because this is not the nurse's job to, neglect a patient. I don't believe this will happen because I believe that the nurses all stick together and the nurse manager is exactly the same way. She will defend the worst nurse and not the patient. After the nurse denied me my blood pressure medication I didn't feel safe there anymore. She has shown total lack of care for a patient.
