One way to tell whether or not you've done business with a good company is how they treat you when things don't go swell; case in point: I recently rented a Vermeer Dingo and threw the tread while in my creek (my fault). They dispatched their onsite maintenance team to fork it out with a T590, and then left the T590 behind for me to use (about 3x capacity). Because of their promptness and courtesy, I was still able to place 76 yards of fill dirt and contour it before the (vestigial hurricane) torrential rains came this weekend. This was a big deal because that dirt was placed to stop my home from flooding due to the nearby creek.

Many circumstances due to my location lead me to rent from other rentals throughout Southwest Ohio. Doing so I've experienced many break downs, accidental rental reservation headaches the day of pickup and the lack of care and service from other rentals. I was always caught wasting my time fixing other rentals equipment.....with complete disregard for safety and care. So many negative experiences lead me to now rent ONLY from Central Tool for ALL my rentals no matter the distance. Their equipment is always updated, clean, and fully operational as expected rental after rental. No BS, they are upfront with the costs and willing to do what they can to load, unload and most of all they take the time to build a relationship. Central Tool Rental should be rated teh best rental ever! if you don't think so you might be stupid or just a dumb individual that can't operate machinery bigger than a weed eater! My opinion anyway......

We paid for the repair and tune up, and when we got it back, it was extremely loud, apparently, during the repair he had punctured the muffler. I asked if he would fix it, but he wanted to charge extra to fix the muffler. This was just a month outside of the warranty, and with it. Still being a pretty new lawnmower we were expecting it to be back to new condition after repair Over the summer, it continued to struggle to start, but it would start. Now about six months after the repair, it's not starting, the muffler is still loud and shot, and it almost feels like more damage was done to the lawnmower than was repaired. It looks like we need to pay to get it fixed again, but at this point, we're wondering if we should just buy a new one because of all of the extra damage. Even with the noise canceling headphones the damaged muffler is so loud that it makes it hard to mow having autism spectrum disorder. A part of me has wondered if I even got the right lawn mower back. I'm pretty sure I did, but there were new issues after the repair that didn't exist before.

I made the 30 minute drive with my mower to the repair shop. The man I dropped off the lawnmower to was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided me a time frame of at least 3 weeks, which was perfectly understandable. He gave me an estimate of $127-187, mainly from the tune up. He said he would contact me before he added on any parts, which would raise the price. 30 days had passed, and I had left a few messages with him (about day 26-30). Unfortunately, I did not receive a return call. Day 40 arrived and I was getting worried because I could not reach someone at Neighborhood Lawnmower Repair. By this time, I had payed a business to service our lawn about 3-4 times. I called the repair shop and finally received a call back. I was told the mower had received a tune-up and a new carburetor. I did not receive a call about the added part, which would have helped in deciding whether to keep the mower or not. I stopped by to get the mower, and when he tested it, it did work. He apologized, I accepted and left. Although I disliked wasting time and fuel, I also realized he could have just let me leave with a non-functioning lawn mower. The next week, he told me what he did to get it running again, and it would be ready for pick up. I returned and he started up the mower for me. It worked, sounded good and was ready for mowing. That's when I received the hardest hit...$222 and change. That was a HUGE hit, especially when I wasn't informed it would be that high. I payed, took my mower and went on my way. I had did the math: The repair's total was $222 + $180 for lawn service, which equals $402...the price of a good electric mower. The good: Neighborhood Lawn Care knows how to repair, tune-up and recommend lawn mowers. They are an honest company, when it comes to releasing a working/repaired mower. They could have let me leave with a non working mower the first time, but didn't. The bad: Neighborhood Lawn Care suffers from poor communication with customers regarding almost every step of the process. I understand business can be overwhelming, especially when there is a lot to work on. However, good communication will keep people coming back. I didn't know what was going on with my mower for 40 days -- no call and couldn't reach anyone. I was told one price as a variable estimate, only to have a sizably large price increase. When I asked for a possible discount for the non-communication, wasted trip, extremely long wait and sticker shock, I was told that was a discounted price. If you have the time to wait over a month with no communication and the large amount of money to spend on your mower, this is the place for you. They do know how to fix mowers. However, (for me), this just wasn't worth the wasted time, fuel and money.

Phone tag with the office for two days landed me an appointment. The crew shows up, cuts a few holes in my ductwork, and then asks if they can use MY 15 year old craftsman shopvac TO CLEAN THE AIR HANDLER BECAUSE THE ONE THEY BROUGHT DIDN'T WORK! I obliged....I don't know why. Maybe because of countless weekends of Gary Sullivan on 700wlw telling me directly that these people are the best! Maybe because the guy asked nicely! I don't know, but I let them keep going. I went downstairs to check their progress, and unfortunately asked a question..."aren't you going to clean the A coil? Your advertising includes that in this service and the scheduler said it would be done....?" Nope, they said they couldn't reach it and they don't normally clean them on heat pumps. I again accepted this for unknown reasons...mostly likely related to Gary Sullivan, the freaking Walter Cronkite of AM home improvement talk radio. The men, who I should add were very nice, said they were done, and for some strange reason, I wrote them a check for about $570. Again, I was writing the check and I could hear Gary Sullivan saying, "yeah, they're the best! So you should pay them twice what other companies charge to do the same thing! They're the best! They need double of what this job should cost to keep advertising on 700wlw...." and I signed the check and they left. Later, my wife and I realized the whole house was covered in dust. Apparently, "Hi Tech" blew the dust in the duct work all over my house - ducts are clean, I think, but I don't know for sure because I can't see into them, and all or some or most of the dust that was in the ducts is all over the house. The basement where they were working - a disaster. Metal shavings all over from the holes they cut, and dust and debris everywhere. I thought about calling and complaining, but that would just be a waste of time....I can't imagine they would be quick on a refund considering they can't even buy their employees a functioning shop vacuum. And I didn't really want them to come back and clean up, since they couldn't do it the first time. So I'm writing this review....$570 poorer, upset that Gary Sullivan mislead his flock....
