Let me try to explain this as best as possible, especially considering the fact that I'm not sure I totally understand myself. Reservations are not required on the weekend but should be strongly recommended before driving all the way out there. The other ride operates as first come first serve but only goes at at specific times (from what I can gather). I asked this question ten different ways and got a run around on the answer ten different times, so I assume that they have specific times this ride leaves but I am still not sure as they never said that specifically. They accept cash only so be ready for that. Rain checks are provided only if your ride has not left the immediate grounds. They seem very friendly but are not aware of how to clearly state the way in which the rides work. They probably deal with an enormous amount of idiots all the time so I understand. LONG...BUT MUST READ!! Aug. 2018- Day Camp Experience My child was interested in riding this summer, so I did my research. 1. Searched the internet 2. Called and spoke with the owner 3. Read Yelp reviews Everything seemed well organized and successful, as they've been in business for years....or so I thought. Decided to surprise my daughter and take her first thing Monday morning. Once we arrived, it was a totally different feeling. The owners and workers didn't seem enthusiastic about what they were doing. It seemed that they were just doing their "job" rather than something they were passionate about. I was expecting a fun atmosphere for a summer camp. Day 1: My daughter was yelled at by one of the owner's (named Sam) for something that wasn't her fault. She also explained how one of the workers was getting frustrated with her because she wasn't holding the reigns correctly. This was her very first time.....was she supposed to be a professional already?? On the website it states that the kids would be doing activities throughout the day, pertaining to the horses. Besides the two rides....it was a free for all. Despite these hiccups that occured on the first day, we decided to give it another try Wednesday morning. I told my daughter to try not to be so sensitive, and try to pay more attention to the instructions. Day 2: Before the day could even begin for the campers, one of the owners, Sam became irate! In front of me, 2 other parents and the campers, he threw stuff to the floor, snatched a bucket of food out of an employees hands, and began to aggressively feed the horses. She stood there in shock, shook it off and picked up his things, included scooping some horse food back into a bucket that he threw on the ground (a little girl all of 7 years old helped the employee scoop the food too.) Sam then approached the woman employee, grabbed the bucket, dumped it out, and yelled "PICK IT UP THE RIGHT WAY!!!" She stormed off crying and quit immediately. Poor woman didn't even have a vehicle to leave. I offered to assist her, as I explained that I was also leaving. There was no way that I was leaving my child there!!! Jason, the other owner was nice over the phone, but not very approachable in person. He gave a very good lesson during his demonstration on the first day of camp, but I cannot believe that he didn't even say anything to the woman that was mistreated, or his business partner. Totally unprofessional. We were not greeted, no one smiles, did I forget to mention that I didn't have to sign my daughter out. No one was even paying attention when I picked her up. Call ahead for appoiments to go out with a group for a longer ride, the horses are very well taken care off and the price its not bad at all !! I called in and was able to set up a same-day 90 minute trail ride for three people - a kid and two adults. The people that work here are super learning oriented and take the time to explain the relationship a rider has with their horse in a way I've never heard before. The introduction was about a half hour long so really we got two hours or more, it was SO worth the price! Thank you Megan, she was our awesome guide, and Emily was super helpful with our young rider...they are so knowledgeable and really good at making sure each rider is safe while still pushing their comfort level to learn and try new things. Love this place! Jason and Sam, the owners, main concern is their animals as it should be. Their teaching method is wonderful and humane. I've been riding since I was a young girl but have never learned so much as when I started riding there. Then, of course, is the fun! CJ is in charge of that. My friends and I went on a Sunday, we called ahead and they told us the time. The workers were very friendly and when it came to show us how to handle the horses, it was insightful and really helped along the ride. They assigned you the horses so you can bond with them. I had Justice, I think he matched my personality. The trail was very nice, lots of trees. The whole experience was awesome. They were very cautious about matching us with the right horse. We were explained what to do and not. You can rent a helmet or take your own. I went here in spring 2017 and rode Quantum. I love their approach to both teaching and riding. Lead the horse, don't force them, spurless, and a 3 stage guidance instruction (sadly, this is the first time I've ever actually heard an instructor say these things and have this attitude, and always felt a little uncomfortable at other stables). When Sam is the trail leader it's a great experience. There's a young girl that always takes a crazy horse and rides bare back. When she is the trail leader the ride is always terrible. Totally not enjoyable when they let these girls, more interested in showing off then providing an enjoyable ride for others, take the lead. Let's start of with I'm a beginner rider but my boyfriend is an expert one. They ask you in the beginning what level you are but it doesn't matter because we both were in the same group doing the same trail which I found confusing . Also I'm from Georgia so maybe I'm just not used to Florida manners but there was this woman with short blonde hair that was just rude anytime she talked to me. She knew I was a beginner but she talked to like I should've known certain things better. I gave two stars because they are nice horses and the man who gave the instructions was really nice. Super cool ranch and experience! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last year for their trail ride. I think it lasted an hour and a half, and it was BEAUTIFUL. They show you everything you need to know and they take you all over their ranch and on their equestrian trail in the shaded woods. We had such an excellent and super fun time. Everyone in the staff was really cordial and helpful and patient (especially with me!) and all the horses behaved well. You could tell the staff really loved what they did and cared for the horses. I highly recommend this place for anyone to experience, whether novice or experienced. Also as a tip, bring some fresh healthy veggies for the horses! Took my 16 year old son. It was al lot more fun that what I thought it would be. Great team they have there, they're patient, fun, and informative. For $50 per hour in a half, it's amazing. My significant other took the nature path trail ride today, which cost $45. She had a blast. Said that everything was good and that you had the opportunity to trot and even gallop a bit. They advertise that you get a 1.5 hour ride, but it lasted a good two hours, not including their introductory symposium on riding. I've been to the Bar-B- Ranch for trail rides on several occasions. I have done private rides, and group rides, both of which need reservations. The horses appear to be well taken care of, and the equipment is in good shape. Even after I bought my own horse, I went on trail rides with friends at the ranch. Very stressful and nerve wrecking experience. Groups that are taken out are in my opinion too large and hard to keep an eye on. The employees that go on the ride with you are all 22 years of age and under. Although experienced in riding horses and very nice, I did not feel safe at all. My horse was non obedient and very difficult to handle. We were warned prior to the ride that the horses like to play and bite one another. I have never seen this before in my life. My horse bit everyone, went off corse, and did not listen to any commands. Overall an extremely unenjoyable and scary situation. I think if they split the groups up into smaller ones with one employee per small group it would be a much more positive experience. read more

We signed up for a private appointment, being told that it would be a 90-minute ride. My group was going to be 2 adults and 4 kids, ages ranging from newly-7 to 10. None of us had much experience riding. The GOOD parts: the horses were calm and non-threatening for inexperienced riders; the staff, when we arrived, made sure to ask each of us whether we had experience and whether we were "nervous;" and the 2 guides who led our group were patient, friendly, and reassuring; the scenery is beautiful and the ride is enjoyable. The BAD parts: the ride is LONG-- my little ones were overheated and hungry after about an hour; and we didn't leave at the scheduled time, meaning that we arrived at 10am and weren't done until almost 1pm. I would recommend this experience but offer this advice: put on bug spray, don't bring kids as young as 7 who might get bored, and don't be surprised if your experience takes longer than 90 minutes. That said, at $55/person, we definitely felt that we got our money's worth, and we are very grateful that Lea and Wylie, our guides, took such great care of our inexperienced little riders. read more

My boyfriend and I have gone here already twice within a weeks time. It is AMAZING. The price is only $45.00 for a scenic trail ride, which you get your own horse appointed to you, you go through an amazing scenic bush, sort of. Trees, flowers, dirt road, enclosed area almost like an amazon forest. Then you go through this huge open field and you trot along the white picket fence, we didnt gallop, they only allow you to trot unless you are more experienced with riding, and even then they do not suggest it. You go past a cow pasture and see actual bulls and cattle along with a few donkeys just hanging out grazing. It advertises an hour to 1 1/2 ride, but the past 2 times my boyfriend and I have gone, it has lasted a great 2 1/2 hours. My boyfriend got to ride the same horse from his first time(Cortez, one of their biggest males), Mine from the first time (Benji) was out of commission due to an injury, but I got a chance to ride an even bigger horse named Jermiah, He was very mature and very gentle. Loved him. We plan on making this an every couple of weeks thing since it is so inexpensive and very relaxing, the first time we went we rode with about 7 or 8 other people, but the last time we went, it was just him , I , and our leader. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I loved every moment of it and I suggest it to first timers and experienced riders. You will NOT be disappointed! I PROMISE! P.s. Wear rugged clothing preferably old pair of jeans, old light shirt so sun does not beam on you, and wear a pear of shoes you dont really care for much. Do not go there if you are an experienced rider! You will be bored to tears! Also very rude staff. My friend purchased the ride for me while I was going to be in South Florida. Before going I called again to ask if they did have more experienced horses like there website says and if we were allowed to at least canter or if we didn't have to be in a trail group. I'm a horse owner and have showed my whole life. They said yes, no problem and that there was also an open field near the end that you could ride fast in.None of this was true on the snail paced, guide led ride. When I went to turn around in the trail ride and ride back 20 feet to my friend I was screamed at very rudly by a trail leader. I was the only person after begging that got to canter for all of 10 seconds before they made me stop and wait for the rest of the riders. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone due to very poor customer service. read more

Do not come here. The horses look sad and the trail was extremely boring and the staff sucked. They told you all the things you COULDN'T do, which left nothing fun that you could, and if you've ridden before and want a good experience, this is not the place. With all the directions they give you on how to ride and the mass amount of limitations, like "don't turn it's head too much," you spend most of the time worrying if you're doing something wrong rather than relaxing and enjoying the ride. I live in Seattle and was on vacation in Florida. While there, I wanted to ride horses and try out a different terrain than I was used to. I am an experienced rider and was looking for somewhere I could do more than just a basic trail ride. If you are an advanced rider I suggest signing up for the private ride. If you are a beginner, the group ride would be a good one to take because it costs a lot less and you stick to more basic skills. When we got there, we were allowed to say hello to the horses. Then we were given a talk about the basic commands. They then paired you up with a horse. I was given Chief who I absolutely adored. My sister and I were on a private ride so we were assigned a guide. The trails were big, open and sandy and there were big open meadows perfect for cantering through. On this ride we were allowed to walk, trot and canter. My sister and I had a very enjoyable ride in a different environment than we were used to. Thank you so much Miranda!(our guide) read more
