If you are near Walla Walla, this is where you need to eat. Make reservations a month in advance or watch Instagram for openings. The front of house is firm but warm. The building is historic but potentially chilly in the summer (the AC is brutal). The kitchen and bar are ready to serve. The menu is on a blackboard so catch a photo if you're out of sight line. Some suggest to order the menu and take leftovers home and they aren't wrong if you have a place to take leftovers. Came here in August for our anniversary trip and it did not disappoint! I saw a food guide which mentioned this restaurant and we were so excited when there was a last minute opening. Make sure you leave extra time to travel here as it is a trip from walla walla. But the drive is beautiful and the hand made pasta is worth the wait. Every dish was made with care and love which you can taste. My favorite was the roquillo peppers in olive oil with the Parmesan cheese and olives served with the fresh focaccia bread. My friends and I had been waiting a long time to get a reservation here and it did not disappoint! The hour-long drive in the country with beautiful topography and a quick tour around historic Waitsburg helped to lull us into a relaxed mood for the evening. Everyone and everything contributed to an incredible evening in a laid-back atmosphere - with a special shout out to Erin, the hostess, and Tyler, the bartender, who worked as a great team to make all the guests feel welcome and at-home. Cocktails, antipasta and pasta dishes, and desserts were all delicious! Plates were served family style so no FOMO (fear of missing out) anxiety! We tried almost the whole menu (which changes frequently) - and then ordered more to take home. Yes, it is THAT good! I would order everything again, but my favorites for the evening were the perfectly-ripened heirloom tomatoes in a tonnato sauce, the campanelle pasta with chanterelle mushrooms in a sherry cream sauce, the tagliarini pasta with Italian black truffles, and the flourless chocolate torte with cream. We did not get to meet the chef, Mike Easton, but we are grateful that he has honed his culinary skills and love of Italian food so that others can have such a wonderful experience! The restaurant is now on permanent hiatus so others may not have the opportunity to go but I had the pleasure of being able to dine here in May and it lived up to the hype so I still wanted to share my review. We have been a fan of Mike Easton since Il Corvo as that was my favorite spot to go in Seattle. We then went to Il Nido which was also excellent and when he announced this restaurant we wanted to try it but it took us some time to make our way to Waitsburg and we made it just in time as little did we know after dining there it would close! Everything is excellent but the highlight is of course the pasta. We got the foccacia, the sardines, the kale salad and three types of pasta. We tried an arugula pesto pasta with asparagus which was delicious and it was my first time trying fresh truffles and not just an oil in a tagliarini alla tartuffo pasta and they were very good but my favorite pasta was still the rigatoni with prosciutto amatriciana topped with burrata. It had spice, saltiness, creaminess, texture and really there was nothing to not love about it. Not sure when we will next be in the area but I of course want to try Easton's next two projects when I can. read more

Outstanding! The reviews for Bar Bacetto are real and quite accurate. No doubt about it! After eating there tonight there was no doubt at all! We (there were four of us) arrived at our appointed reservation time and we were quickly seated. Service was impeccable, for example, our water glasses were always full in a very unobtrusive way and the wait staff superb and very knowledgeable about the menu. (Note: The menu changes daily and is handwritten on a large chalkboard on the wall, I took a picture of the menu so I could refer to it readily not only when ordering but also when the dishes arrived at our table. We ordered everything on the dinner menu because the wait staff said the portions were more than enough for sharing and also three of the items from the antipasti menu. All the pasta dishes were delicious and cooked just right. The octopus salad with chickpeas was superb with the octopus itself very tender. A lot of places don't quite live up to the hype but Bar Bacetto is not that kind of place. As hyped as it is, it still manages to exceed expectations. It's a small, intimate and lovely space that makes you feel special and welcomed. Everything is perfectly executed. Drinks, wine, food and service. The chef owner checked in with us after our first two courses and when I told him everything was excellent he responded "well it's early and we have plenty of time left to disappoint". Ha! Not so! Mike & Erin are crushing it! This beautiful and intimate place is a breath of fresh air for the culinary scene in this area. The warm atmosphere, delicious food and incredible customer service, it's top notch (not in a stuffy way). Vanessa our server was perfect. She was extremely knowledgeable and her pace was wonderful. Mike went out of his way to chat it up with us a few times and treat us to a wonderful in house made aperitif. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but we were so excited to dig into every single course. The Focaccia bread is out of this world! That's coming from someone who dislikes focaccia. The Prosciutto Di Parma with Burrata is melt in your mouth good and the Rigatoni Ala Toscana is a must. Also for those who don't drink alcohol they have a non alcoholic bubbly rose that is divine. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and a real rose. The highlights are endless. It's not super easy to get a reservation so we would highly recommend you start booking now. I cannot find enough superlatives to rate our experience at Bar Bacetto. Everything--the food, the setting, the staff, the opportunity to meet other foodies--was beyond spectacular. I encourage you to try as many pasta options as you can--you will not regret the investment or your temporarily too tight waistline. Or just plan ahead and wear expandable elastic. Because the salads, the desserts (we had one of each!), and drink options are equally unique, perfectly executed and loaded with layers of ingenious flavor and texture. Should you order the focaccia? Sorry--yeah, you need to have that, too, with the perfectly balanced olive oil. You will want the bread to wipe up every molecule of sauce you can. Yum. In the middle of the small town in eastern WA, you'll find the real deal. If you're a foodie, this is the place. Chef Mike is a notable chef that left Seattle, and I can't tell you enough how delicious the pasta is he makes. The menu changes weekly, but I've been there a couple times with friends, and we have tried all the entrees. The beet filled pasta, and the buccatini swimming in a rich porcini sauce was divine. Wine now is go to a rack and find a bottle, ok nothing in the rack under $100.00, all glass wine over $20.00. My first visit was not this way. A bit disappointed on the second time around. The best pasta - anywhere in the US or even Italy! We were a fan of Mike and Erin when they had Il Corvo in Seattle. Everytime we came to Seattle, we would make a point of waiting in line @ 10:30 (they opened @ 11:00 for lunch only) and then - pasta nivarna... We always bought fresh pastas to take home. When Mike closed the shop, we were so devastated... We did go to some of the places he worked at after Il Corvo but just did not feel the vibe... (Il Nido, Passatempo in Walla Walla).. Well, Mike and Erin moved 265 miles east and landed in all places - Waitsburg... We booked a couple of nights in Walla Walla and contacted Erin for a reservation. Well, well, well....
