The cheese was creamy and flavorful and the pulled pork was tender and juicy and jam packed with flavor but could have been a bit more smoky. For the food: I got a small BBQ platter which came with 3-meat choices , a dinner roll and a single side choice. I chose baked beans for my side. Tri-tip, ribs and brisket for my meats. I tasted the beans nothing special but tasty. Same for the roll. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, juicy and meaty! I got three 3"-4" ribs. I also had a small pile of super thin sliced tender juicy and flavorful tri-tip and three 1/4-1/2" thick slices of brisket. The brisket was moist and had a good smoke flavor as well. I ate all the ribs, half the tri-tip and a slice of brisket. The rest went home with me as this was a hearty serving. To end our evening we were sent on our way with well wishes and thanks for patronage from our server and the bartender!

We were always kind to the staff, and often purchased extras.

The restaurant was gracious enough to accommodate my request for halibut instead of beef while keeping my friend's steak as ordered. Unfortunately, both entrées were overcooked. My friend actually looked at me and asked, "Are you sawing at your fish?" Sadly, I was. The halibut was so overcooked that I literally had to saw through it with my knife. As my friend put it, "No one should ever have to use muscle to saw a fish." Exactly. Her steak was also overdone. We brought the issue to our server's attention, and she asked if we wanted the dishes taken back. Of course we said yes, assuming that at a restaurant of this caliber, the kitchen would remake the entrées and give us properly prepared meals. That, unfortunately, didn't happen. Instead, dessert arrived. And that came with its own unexpected issue: while eating it, my friend actually lost a tooth. Yes--her tooth literally came out while eating dessert. Needless to say, that was not how we expected the evening to end. What makes this especially disappointing is the restaurant's reputation and the price point. We came in expecting a memorable dining experience and were excited to celebrate a special occasion. Instead, I left without actually having a properly prepared main course, and my friend left with an overcooked steak and a missing tooth. There were certainly some bright spots--the setting is beautiful, and the opening dishes were very good--but at this level of dining, the execution and, perhaps more importantly, the response when something goes wrong should match the reputation. Met with several people. Shook a lot of hands. Looked at some things. One guy had a map. By about 6pm I had done basically everything a businessman can legally do in one day so I decided to get dinner. Went to TMACS. Sat at the bar because I was by myself and sitting at a table by yourself makes it look like someone is coming. Nobody was coming. The lady gave me the menu. I told her I wasnt very hungry. She recommended the octopus. I said lets do it. I have always respected the octopus because it has 8 arms and still doesnt have a job. Octopus came out. Very good. Charred on the outside. Tender inside. Had some sauce and other things around it. I ate all of those too. At this point I was no longer hungry which had been the original goal. Then she asked what I wanted for dinner. This caught me off guard because I thought the octopus had counted. She recommended the bolognese. I said lets do that too. This is one thing I like about restaurants. You can just keep ordering. Bolognese came out and immediately became a serious situation. Big wide pasta. Rich meat sauce. Parmesan. Everything stuck to everything correctly. I dont know who invented bolognese but they understood that sometimes spaghetti needs more stuff on it. Very good. Halfway through dinner a glass broke. Everybody heard it. Maccarone's because the founder's actual last name is Maccarone. This guy was born with the last name Maccarone and opened a restaurant with pasta. Sometimes life tells you what to do. If his last name had been Hamburger this could have been a completely different place. Eventually they changed the name to TMACS which is much faster to say. Smart. I paid the bill. Everyone said goodbye. I walked back to my hotel extremely full even though I had entered the restaurant not hungry. That is a 100% increase in hunger elimination.
