Couldn't have asked for a better experience tonight! Loved the décor as soon as we walked in - simple, but a throwback. The server, "Kate," was excellent and attentive only when we needed it. I had the pea risotto with seafood, which I fell in love with, and my husband had pappardelle with a mushroom sauce + sweet Italian sausage & mushroom pieces, which he ate up with no problem. Had the dark chocolate gelato, which was smooth, rich, and delish. My only advice is to make a reservation! On a Wednesday night, people tried to get a table as walk-ins, and they were put on the waiting list for at least an hour. We secured our table the day before, and it was easy. My only criticism, and it's a small one, is the noise level was a bit high. That's because there are a lot of hard surfaces in the room. Check this place out! read more

Probably one of my absolute favorites in Madison! I love the drinks and food selections and have NEVER been disappointed by the food, drinks or service. Everyone I bring here loves the experience and salivates over the choices and to be honest it's difficult to choose. Highly recommend getting a few plates and share. We went for the first time Friday night. I hadn't gotten a reservation early enough in the week and only the final 9:30PM slot was open. I like eating late but sometimes you can tell the staff can't wait to rap things up and you feel a little hurried. I get it - restaurant staff are some of the hardest workers around and occasionally have to deal with difficult customers. I felt none of that at Bar Corallini. We arrived a little early and had a drink at the bar. The bar is very nice and the bartender was great. He greeted us right away and our drinks were delicious. The same went for our dinner. Our waitress was excellent and our food was delicious. I had braised octopus for an appetizer and 8 Finger Cavatelli for the main and enjoyed both. Serving sizes were excellent. The Cavatelli was hot and delicious with a nice amount of shrimp. I'll definitely be back. read more

Bar Corallini is one of my favorite restaurants in the Atwood neighborhood. The staff and Chef Gio are always welcoming. My partner and I celebrated our engagement here as well as our rehearsal dinner. My absolute favorite are the eggplant fritters. Soft eggplant purée on the inside with the perfect crispy breading on the outside. The pepperoni, jalapeño, and honey pizza is a perfect balance of sweet and spicy (but not too spicy). My favorite pasta is the FUSILLONI with pistachio pesto, mortadella, fresh burrata, toasted pistachios, pecorino. It is salty, cheesy, nutty, and the perfect complex flavor I crave! Top your dinner off with one of their classic Negronis and you won't be disappointed! read more

Yeah, the house made pasta is the star here. 8 finger cavatelli was perfectly balanced between creamy and the earthiness the walnuts provide. Cocktail menu was outside the norm of what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. Decor and general vibe was awesome, as well - this makes an awesome date night spot. read more

My wife and I were impressed with all of the above - food, service, and ambiance. I had the Rigatoni Alla Bolognese, and my wife had a Muffaletta...both were excellent. Our server (Emma, also excellent) was welcoming and very helpful with food and beverage selections. You don't need to go to Italy to have some authentic Italian food! We left feeling excited that we had found a restaurant that delivered on all levels, since we usually don't have such a great experience. We will definitely go back, and look forward to trying additional food and drink items on the menu. read more

I have been to BC twice now. The menu displays a nice creativity in adding a twist to traditional Italian dishes, and the food quality has been very good both times. There are two areas in need of improvement. First, the service model is flawed. They deliver food as soon as it comes up from the kitchen without coordination with the rest of your party. Most recently, I was half way done with my dinner before the food arrived for my wife and son. Second, if you are anywhere near one of the doors, there is no protection from the outside weather. They need to add vestibules to address the comfort of their guests. Otherwise, the restaurant is excellent. read more

This is a really a great restaurant. It is well run and the food and drinks from the bar excellent. I was disappointed in the Rigatoni Bolognese because the pasta is really BIG Rigatoni. I thought it would be closer to the Papadopoulos noodles that is usually in Bolognese but thats my mistake. Way too much pasta for me but the sauce was great with bread. Eggplant fritters were well made and served with a yummy tomato sauce. The one big complaint is that the entrance door from Atwood avenue opens directly into the front dining area, and on this cold Saturday was not a pleasant experience. We all left our coats on for the entire meal as diners came and went throughout the evening. With an Arctic blast each time the door was opened. I can't imagine what it will be like when it really gets cold! The dining area in the back also has an entrance door from Winnebago street but I don't know if people are allowed to use it. Either way they need a barrier of some sort to keep the cold air from blowing in. Beware if seated in the front seating area. It was very busy on this Saturday night after a home football game but not as crammed as before when the restaurant first opened. You need reservations. read more

I don't leave reviews very often, but this place was amazing! My fiancé and I went for a date night and had the best time. Our server was polite and attentive, the atmosphere was really lively, and the food was fantastic. We ordered the mezze maniche and the bucatini amatriciana. The 8 finger cavatelli was brought out on accident instead of the bucatini amatriciana and our server left it for me to snack on while they made the correct dish! We ended up being grateful that was given to us on accident because it was the best dish of all three! All three meals were delicious and we can't wait to make this a regular date spot. read more

Reservations are needed because the food is so good, always busy! We waited at the bar and had the friendliest bar tenders with such a variety of drinks. They have an entire vegan menu with pizza, antipasto and pastas. I had the vegan cacio de pepe and it was wonderful, it was so creamy despite being vegan! The pizza was the show stopper, the crust was to die for. Seriously the best pizza I've ever had! They have the wood fired pizza oven in the back for everyone to see along with the chef making homemade pasta beside. Everything about the place is beautiful. It feels very classy. Servers all were well dressed. Ours knew all the stuff on the menu. The warm olives were a nice start. Negroni on tap was good. The house wine on tap was decent. We needed to be out in an hour for a Barrymore theater show and just made it. Everyone loved their food except me. I tried the other dishes and I liked them. I ordered the rigatoni Bolognese. The pasta was perfectly done but the ragout was just tasteless. We will go back when we don't have to rush. The pasta special sounded good but at 545 it was gone. This is a great place... I just didn't like one dish and others might do no real complaints. The idiotic mask bullsh*t isn't their fault. Bar Corallini doesn't disappoint. My family and I came into the restaurant shortly after 6:00 on a weekday and were treated to an amazing experience. Jordan and Evan were managing the floor and were sure to check-in on our table and make sure that everything was on point. Chef Gio was also nice enough to drop by our table and, recognizing that our 3 year old might get a bit antsy, brought her some dough to play with - nicely played, chef! Our daughter loved getting to squish pizza dough and it kept her busy long enough that we were able to enjoy our dining experience. If you haven't been here before, you need to try their pizza, as they are the real deal. The Muffuletta was stellar and the Kale salad might be one of my favorite salads in this city - simple, yet perfect. The cocktail program is inventive and approachable, with a handful of house creations and a nice balance of classics. As a bourbon drinker, I suggest the Harvest Moon - it was complex and balanced. After hearing the hype, my better half and I decided to stop in on a cold blustery Sunday afternoon. As others have commented, I am a big fan of the renovation that occurred after the building fire at the Chocolaterian. Sleek, modern, sophisticated and warm, the space supports casual diners as well as those looking for a date night dinner. The menu is fairly straightforward with appetizers, salads, pasta and entrees. We started our meal sharing the insalata tricolore-a mixture of greens with citrus, hazelnuts, sugar snap peas and tossed in a white wine vinaigrette. It was solid with the acidity of the vinaigrette balancing the richness of the hazelnuts. For our next course, we tried the gnocci ala romana and the linguine and clams. For those unfamiliar, roman gnocci are made with semolina (rather than potato) and served in large squares. While the gnocci were well prepared, the truffle and mushroom sauce was heavy and muddy. What could've been delicious was just ok. The linguine and clams delivered as advertised. Copious amounts of little neck and manilla clams in a white wine and garlic sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the dish was solid. Only complaint is we needed to ask for cracked pepper. This should be table stakes either available on the table or offered up by the server when delivering the plates. Service was friendly and efficient. Is the best italian in Madison? Nope. I will argue until I'm out of breath that Osteria Papavero still holds the crown. But for straight forward and approachable food, Bar Corallini won't let you down. read more

It's tomato heavy & not enough pesto but overall a good app, it's like a bread dish. I had the mushroom capa & the flavors are on point, not too creamy & filled with mushrooms & pepper. The portion size was perfect. My husband tried the pizza which needed an extra minute, it was underdone and the tomato's made it watery. Overall a good spot! I hope they change up the menu soon as there are not a ton of options making it hard to keep returning. read more

Great restaurant for vegan options! I've been here now twice and I've gotten better vegan Italian food than I can remember having anywhere else, and great service. Last I checked the vegan menu is not posted online, so just know if you go here, there is a separate menu with vegan options for starters, salads, pastas, pizzas, and desserts. They have great cocktails too. Their vegan ricotta is delicious and their pasta sauce is SO good. My favorite part of the meal was the chocolate sorbet... we actually stopped eating it and waited until we could confirm we weren't given dairy. Well, they don't serve any chocolate sorbet with dairy, so we were reassured it was 100% vegan! It can be busy and a long wait for a table if you don't have a reservation, but sitting at the bar for dinner, with full service, is a great option too. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I must compliment the exceptional meal and service we received at Bar Corallini. The restaurant was fully booked (a good sign), and we had to make our reservation for 4pm. What a treat the evening became. As antipasto, we had Warm Olives, which was a delight, and our daughter had the Vegan Insalata Mista, in which the wine-poached beets and vegan ricotta were special. Our daughter is an excellent vegan cook, with restaurant experience, and she was impressed. I had the Rigatoni Alla Bolognese that was classic Italian European style with a true meat sauce (not a sauce with meat) and el dente rigatoni. My wife had the Ricotta Gnocchi, and the gnocchi were exceptionally light and the squash puree was tasty. Our son was pleased with the Orecchiette with swordfish. Our daughter enjoyed her Vegan Muffaletta and commented it was a large portion. The bread came to our table late, probably because we were early and it had just been baked. Everyone loved the bread, and it was a hit at the end of the meal. Our daughter ordered sorbetti from Baron's Gelato, and it was excellent like some of best we tasted in Italy. Finally, our waitress, Emma was gracious and attentive without being intrusive. She made the evening special, along with a table visit by chef & owner, Giovanni Novella. We will be back. read more

We just went here for the first time and absolutely loved it! I had the tomato and burrata pizza and the flavor was incredible. The burrata was delicately tangy yet creamy and the tomatoes were perfect. I also had a draft cocktail, their nightly special the "Lions Tail". It was super tasty! The tiramisu is great and affogato might be the best I've ever had! The restaurant is modern yet cozy. I feel like I could live there! Our waiter, I think his name was Austin was so sweet in answering everyone's questions about the space and menu, and checked on us what felt like the perfect amount. Oh and did I mention there's a parking lot? Great find for East of downtown madison. Overall I highly recommend this place. We will be back - hopefully soon! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and I loved how there were plants incorporated into the decoration, too. I had the gnocchi alla romana (Porcini mushroom cream, truffle oil, Parmigiano Reggiano) and it was TO DIE FOR. The hot olives were also a fun and unique appetizer that delicious but not so much food that it spoiled dinner! I also liked how in the front of the restaurant, you can watch the chefs actually make the noodles. The staff was extremely friendly- I will definitely be back!! read more
