Great Happy Hour & Even Better Pizza Loved the menu and happy hour deals--$46 for 4 items! The cheese pizza was genuinely the best I've ever had: thin crust, crunchy (not burnt), and the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio. I ended up ordering a full-size one after trying the happy hour slice. Philly egg rolls were also a hit! Service was slow but friendly. Parking is tough, and the music is pretty loud, but it's a fun sports bar vibe overall. Worth it for the food

We were in Philly for the first time a couple months ago. We were having drinks at a different bar and met two locals who told us to go to try Bar-Ly for the march madness games. As soon as we entered we knew we were in the right spot. Tons of tvs and the sound was on! Every table was full and the bar was hopping. A nice couple was leaving and gave us their seats. Bartenders were quick to offer drinks. Tons of draft beer selections! We drank and watched the game for a while. Everyone there was happy and having a great time. Such a vibe! We needed food and the menu was huge. One of the bartenders saw me struggling to decide and made some suggestions. We got dumplings, spring rolls, and crab cheese . Everything was amazing! I wish I would have taken pictures of the food but feel like you can't go wrong with their apps. Super excited because we will be in town again soon and I want to try the pho. We really recommend this spot if you want to watch a game and enjoy some great food and hang out.

Came here to watch women's national championship basketball game. The atmosphere was lively and many different screens of varying sizes to watch several games at once. The food is yummy and they have happy hour every day including weekends. Servers were accommodating with adjusting table sizes as long as room allowed.

Chinatown's only sports bar features 60 beers on tap and Happy Hours during the week. The food ranges from Vietnamese, Mexican, American, and Italian Pizza. We had the salt & pepper fried calamari and chicken bites for our appetizers and Gigantic bowls of noodles and fried rice for our entrees. Everything was spot on. The service was incredible. I definitely give it 5 stars!

I've been back a couple times since my first review and I wanted to submit some pretty pictures of this yummy food. I had the 50/50 burger last night and I have to say it's the best burger I've had in Philly so far. It's also hard just not to get the Pho every time I come in. Service is awesome, and there so many TV's you'll never miss the game your looking for. It's a very clean, hip neighborhood kinda vibe. Also they do Quizzo on Tuesdays at 7, it's so fun and everyone is very friendly. Mr. Liam is a great host. Can't wait to come back for more.

We returned to Bar Ly for a quick happy hour prior to a movie in the neighborhood, and it's a great option for early happy hour in this area as I don't know of many others that have happy hour as early as 3-6pm. I tried their peking duck happy hour, was a little confused when 3 of them came out instead of 2, but then when the bill came it was full charge instead of HH price. The bartender was very kind in correcting the error when I mentioned it to him. The taste and quality was up to par with the price during happy hour, solid bao bun option. Their beer list still remains competitive, especially for a sports bar. The margarita was okay (pretty sure it's made with premix) but ok for happy hour, and I enjoyed my usual lycheetini because it takes me back to nostalgia-town. I would recommend Bar-ly as a solid happy hour spot in this area of town, and lots of TVs for a sports bar destination (which we are lacking in this city of dope sports..!)

Parking: This is located in Chinatown, so mainly street parking. Be prepared to drive around and look for a spot. There are parking garage around the block because Bar-Ly is located right across from the convention center and diagonal from Reading terminal. This is definitely a to-go place if you and your group would like to find a place to chill or gather to watch a sport game. Not only do they have their own bar, but also have a wide variety of food on their menu! Running from Viet cuisine to sushi to pizza and wings! The vibe is just energetic once you step your foot in, especially during a sport game like the Superbowl! But I would suggest make early reservations during those big game nights. There is also a party room available for guests to book for a party. Food & Drinks: I tried their wings with mango habanero sauce, salmon pizza, and one of their drink with lychee and ginger beer that I can't recall right off my head. The drink was pretty good. Salmon pizza was wonderful. The wings, on the other hand, I feel are a bit too dry and not enough sauce. Everything else was definitely not bad at all.

I went here and got Tater tots a sandwich and wings. Everything was terrible! I could barely finish any of my food. Everything tasted like it was popped in the microwave and put on a plate. Only reason I'm giving it a 2 stars is because it very open in there and has a lot of TVs if you ever wanted to watch a game. I would recommend eating somewhere and coming over later to watch sports.

While in Philadelphia for a convention, we returned to Bar-Ly for the first time in years. We had a generally good experience the first time we were here (approx 2017-18) and were happy to meet some friends here. Unfortunately upon arrival, we found it overcrowded, loud, and hard to find a bartender. The bar was filled with sports bros making bets on their phones and the tv's maxed out with volume. Granted the SEC title game was on, but I felt bad for my non-sports loving wife. We soldiered on as we thought the food was worth it. Food this time was ok. My Philly was good but the fries were overcooked and a bit too greasy to enjoy. The server was in and out a few times but hard to find when needed. We left disappointed in our choice and sad that it wasn't what we had remembered. It really felt like a bar this time, not a restaurant. Maybe I just set my expectations set too high.

The lychee martini made by Joey is amazing! Vibes and music are on point! Like a good neighbor....Stephan is there!!! :)

Joe is hands-down one of the best bartenders I've had the pleasure of meeting. He's the kind of bartender who remembers your name and your drink, even if you've only been in once before. Whether the bar is packed or slow, Joe keeps his cool, makes sure everyone is taken care of, and somehow manages to crack a joke just when you need it. His drinks are consistently well-balanced, and he's not afraid to recommend something new if you're in the mood to try something different. What really stands out is how genuinely friendly he is--he makes you feel welcome whether you're a regular or just passing through. If you're looking for a spot with good vibes, strong drinks, and a bartender who actually cares about his craft, Joe at Barly is your guy. Tip him well he deserves it.

This one took me by surprise! After getting a hair treatment in Chinatown, we didn't want to move our car so decided to look for a Happy Hour spot. Google suggested Bar-Ly. Ngl I thought it would be a dive bar I was already looking at other places since I was starving and needed food. We were so glad to be here. It's a huge space with so much to eat and drink and a great place to watch a game or 2. Unlike regular sports bar, this bar serves Chinese apps and Asian entrees along with bar food! We ordered Happy Hour drinks, vegetable spring rolls, shrimp wontons, chicken wings in habanero sauce with fries and the duck bao buns. Everything was delicious except the duck bao buns, a little too gamey for my taste. It's a great place to bring a huge group of friends and get affordable drinks and apps. Bonus - bathrooms are big and clean.

I came here on a random Saturday evening with my friend and we sat at the bar. Dress is very casual, as is the ambiance. It's a bit loud as well. Everything was delicious, staff was great, but Alex the bartender was THE ABSOLUTE best and most patient and smiley human. I recommend coming here for a very vast menu and delicious cocktail!

    Is this a 49ers bar?

They'll probably have the Flyers and 49ers game on, this Sunday, but I wouldn't call it a 49ers bar.

    Is this buniness kids friendly?

Yes, they have menus for all ranges. Once it gets later in the evening the atmosphere changes.

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The bartenders were helpful and kept things moving impressively well, even with a group our size, which was much appreciated. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC. A lively, well-run spot for drinks and groups, and one we would happily return to.
