My friend and I were at a meet up near this bar on Sunday night and wanted drinks and food at 830 pm. I did a search and found Lucky 13 and I'm so glad I did. The vibe is fantastic. It's reminiscent of a simpler time in Philly when good food , a nice long bar and decent cocktails were served up on a countertop while listening to Erasure ring from the speakers. (I'm partial to Erasure. I saw them in concert. Ha!) The cocktails were strong (She knew how to mix!) and the Manhattan cherry was delicious! The waffle fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! This is definitely going to be a go-to spot for me now that I know it's there. And our meet up is every second Sunday a month. That's when you'll find us at Lucky's!

I came here during PBW's "Craft Beer Day" last weekend. I had previously tried their food at other events a few different times and always enjoyed it, but had never actually made it to the bar. During my visit, they had a DJ playing retro music and the vibe was mellow overall. Really nice. My friend and I were able to grab two seats at the bar. She ordered nachos (they were good). I ordered two beers during my time there and each time I did, the bartender questioned me on my choices. I assume it was because one of the beers was newly-released (Victory's Sour Monkey) and another was a stout and it's hot outside (I like stouts quite a bit and I don't drink by the seasons). She was really hesitant about the Sour Money -- even giving a sample of it first before a full glass. This was nice since I got more of it for the price and that beer is great. I'd consider returning to Lucky 13 in the future for a casual day and to try more food.

This might be helpful to some. Although I identify as trans female and I am still in transition, this bar welcomed me with open arms. It's not a palace. It's a corner bar. But a nice friendly and cozy little spot with a decent menu for drinks and food until midnight. They play decent music while they also offer music machine for a buck and a few songs. It can be very busy on weekends. And can be slow on weekdays.. as I see. Also in the day, they have seating for regular eating. Polite staff.. I'll be back..

Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

As a vegetarian, I can't recommend their seitan cheese steak highly enough - it was savory comfort food wrapped in a perfectly balanced amount of delicate hoagie bun. We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family coming home for the holidays. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. What an absolute joy of a restaurant. Neither of us were hungry enough for a big dinner, and we were too tired to wander the city. Moriarty's came up in a yelp search, and we love an Irish pub, so we decided we'd give it a shot. The interior space is definitely Irish pub, but also has some pretty touches. It's not too dimly lit, and its not crazy loud, which was super nice. We sat at the bar, and it was a slow enough time that we were able to chat with the bartender a bit, as well as a regular patron seated near us. We had some really fun conversations! The drinks were good, as expected. I stuck with beers, but my husband had their black Manhattan, which he really enjoyed. The food was pretty on par for bar food. My husband had a sandwich, and I had the nachos. Both were fine. Overall we had a great time, and ended up hanging out for a few hours; definitely longer than anticipated! It was a great spot to have a drink, a quite bite to eat, and ride out a storm. I would absolutely go back if we find ourselves in the same area in Philly again.
