El local sin tanta gente está muy bien, lleno no creo que sea muy cómodo , las hamburguesas nada mal, repetiría, y la piña colada la mejoraría un poco. read more

Healthy, Hearty, and Huge Portions in Barcelona!…read more Been craving something on the healthier side while in Barcelona and came across this spot on Google with tons of high ratings -- and now I see why! Key thing to remember: this place is CASH ONLY, so come prepared. The workers (or maybe the owners) were super, super friendly and very welcoming from the moment we walked in. We decided to eat inside, and wow -- the portions were absolutely ginormous! I ordered the chicken plate, and hubby got the beef and chicken plate, and both were delicious. Each plate came loaded with rice, lentils, red cabbage, tomato salad, lettuce, avocado sauce, plus a spicy hot sauce on the side. We also ordered fries, and it even came with bread to scoop everything up -- such a satisfying meal. All this for 24€. Definitely a must-try if you're looking for something filling but still feels a bit lighter on the tummy while exploring Barcelona. Happy eats in Barcelona!

We came in just a few minutes after the opened so the place was practically empty -- other times when we'd pass by this place, it was always busy. Ordered their small iberico sandwich as I wasn't as hungry and a small coffee that came with two mini croissants. The iberico sandwich was pretty good! Simple but the iberico was definitely the star ingredient. Only downside was it was a bit on the pricey side and you can practically get a similar sandwich but cheaper elsewhere. The strong coffee and mini croissants paired well together. Good option for a quick breakfast on La Ramblas

I did my junior year abroad in Barcelona decades ago, and Pans was my fast-food grab-and-go lunch of choice given that I didn't always have 2 hours to sit in a cafe and do the full European thing. Fast forward to today, and I had to go back just to see if the chain still existed. Sure enough... same old Pans, same old menu, same old grab-and-go. I got my "usual" pechuga de pollo sandwich and was transported back thirty years. Five unabashedly nostalgic stars for Pans.

The market's natural perimeter is dotted with sit-down cafes if you prefer to have table service. Organized, good variety, good atmosphere. It is rare when a market that sells a lot of fish, does not reek of fish from a block away, so it is a very clean market and we saw evidence of constant clean-up. Delicious and impressive spot to grab a few little bites to eat your way through the market, or to bring back with a bottle of wine for your hotel picnic when you're hungry but your tired tourist bod can't bear a full service din din.

This is definitely a great spot for anyone into American beer hall vibes while in Barcelona - plenty of seating and TV's throughout to watch games or other things. You order up at the counter, and we just got a pitcher of beer when we went later at night, as the food service had ended. I do kind of wish we could've had the chance to still get some food, as other tables that had some from earlier looked really tasty. Nevertheless, the vibes were great and the beers hit the spot here. What more can I say?! It was bright, airy, and comfortable inside - perfect for hanging out! I think this is a great option - especially for American tourists, but also for just anyone that wants to have a spot that's chill and fun to hang out at. I definitely recommend!

This is definitely a small, local, casual bar to grab a bocadillo and a drink or two. Service was friendly and fast, they checked in on us but mostly let us do our own thing. Everyone also spoke English, which made things easier for us. Foodwise, we got 2 different bocadillos to try along with the patatas bravas. I loved the iberico bocadillo and the other one as well (I forgot the name but it had country sausage, peppers, and onions). The bread was crisp but soft and did not hurt the roof of my mouth. The filling was flavorful and balanced. The patatas bravas were not the usual ones we were used to, they were herbed and not fried but were so good. We had hoped to return for a second meal here or for takeaway for our flight but unfortunately, timing did not work out. I definitely recommend this spot and think its an excellent, cheap spot for an amazing meal.
One of the first things you should get straight at Bar Fidel is that this is *not* a Spanish…read morebusiness; it's a Catalan one. The owner will hit you over the head with this fact. I know it's a big deal and I know people have bad days but this gentleman was in a mood if ever one was. On one hand, I was happy with the non-touristy, local experience I was getting. On the other one, I found myself longing for a touch of tourist consideration. Even though Catalan is the word of the day at Bar Fidel, you won't get (too many) bad looks by speaking in Spanish. Try to avoid speaking in English. Also, avoid ordering sangria. Not only is it not an option, it makes the owner not want to suffer fools and to complain about people coming to his city and wanting such 'pedestrian' libations. Get your wine and keep it moving. You're at a local's pub, so keep it simple: salad, sandwich, wine, and/or beer. These are your choices... and I had all four. Were I to come back, I would settle on a liquid diet. My crab salad had much too much mayonnaise (you know how I feel about mayonnaise) for my tastes and my salmon baguette - while an interesting mix of fish, dill and roquefort cheese - was, ultimately, too pedestrian for a dinner item (although as a lunch item and paired with a beer, it would have been a good fit). The onus was on me to do more research. I didn't. I thought I did but I didn't. My ill preparation, however, was compounded by the awkward atmosphere I felt from the owner. I always advocate going off the beaten path and trying to get a more local feel of a city. If I were to come back here, though, I would make sure I did it with a local... who spoke fluent Catalan.
