I read a Yelp review saying it was a hidden jewel, and then we stumbled upon it in a low- key locals' piazza. My husband had a good negroni and I the most generous grand marnier pour ever, at a low price. We split a tasty, fresh caprese sandwich. When I saw pesto genovese on the menu, we decided to bring our friends back for dinner the next night. Away from the bustle around Rialto bridge, next to a small canal, with its own gelato stand, it is a perfect place to enjoy drinks and the wonderful penne pesto, but do not skip the desserts because they were the best we have had in a long time. Our friendly server recognized us from the day before, and we enjoyed the unhurried ambiance of an open piazza filled with locals.

What a treat to have stumbled on this hidden gem while wandering around Venice. Husband and I had desserts, coffee, and an aperitif. This cool place is located in a piazza off the beaten path. The desserts were amazing, and the aperitif was really good and served with a side of potato chips. Such a lovely place to relax and soak in the beauty of Venice.

Food was okay, service mediocre. It was close by, but wouldn't go again given all the other places within 100 feet of this one.

Not that great. Encourages you to sit outside (an extra 1.5€). Super small glass of house red wine 3.50 :/

Tasty bellinis. Great for people watching. Family owned. It was very nice when the locals stopped by and chatted with the owners

We wandered up from the busy tourist packed Rialto and we're pleased to find a part of Venice that appears to be a living neighborhood.

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.

The waiter is very friendly and invite us to have lunch, and menu price look reasonable so let's go for it. We ordered clam and mussels. So amazing and yummy, especially the soup! I really want to finish all of it. The scallop spaghetti is also very yummy. I love this place. Good vibe, friendly service, and most important is the food quality. 5 stars for sure. For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!
