I've never had to call for a tow truck, ever. There's a first time for everything, I suppose. I had a flat two blocks away from my house at 6pm last night. The circumstances were, to put it mildly, very unusual, involving a bulldozer by the side of the road and other complicating factors. The first towing company I called put me on hold; I gave up on them and hung up after several minutes. Bar Towing answered my call immediately. They listened carefully and, given the unusual circumstances, asked for pictures, which I sent. They dispatched an operator immediately. By the time Jeff arrived, I had simplified some of the complications, leaving me with the challenge of changing my tire on a slope on a gravel surface. Jeff blocked my downhill front tires and helped me get my spare tire mounted. I couldn't have done this without him. Both he and the dispatcher, Sean, were patient, careful, and above all, compassionate. The circumstances and my evening were terrible, but they both made sure to help me through it. My deep thanks to both of them. I've added them to my contacts. They will be the only company I call if I ever need a tow again. read more

Nice enough guy, until he ran my car through a tree. He became defensive and refused to accept responsibility for any damage. He put it on the trailer, sped off and ran my car straight through the bottom of a tree he said was out of his field of vision, which was 50 yards away. Told me the tow was free and I could use the money to deal with the damage. "Sorry for ruining your day ..." was his response. "Hey man ... sorry I didn't see that underpass. If you get your truck towed know your rights. Thank you Sean for getting back to me in the "multiple calls" however, there was only one conversation that happened between myself and your associate, where he continued to explain that he will not be coming out to my residence for the simple fact there is only one truck in service at that time. Sean is the biggest piece of Human garbage I've ever dealt with in Oregon, loads my vehicle onto the truck not even 1 minute passed parking limit and proceeds to tell me I can give him 175 cash to get my car now or follow him back to the lot and pay 275 or more . I tell him I'm gonna get the cash from inside , 30 seconds later as I'm walking back outside he peels out and drives away and makes me chase the truck a quarter mile down the road as he makes eye contact in the mirror and continues to smile . Had to sit at the tow lot for an hour negotiating with Sean , money in hand , to get my car back- I ended up having to get the police involved and jump through all of this sickos hoops just to pay too much money just to deal with this guys crap. "Left out the crucial facts" -employee in question started his interaction whilst trying to "secretly" record my brother by saying " do something " three times. - same employee made an offer to have the vehicle dropped where it was and drove away as I came outside money in hand and watched me in his mirror as I chased him down the road on foot. - Sean made the process take as long as possible as we sat in the tow yard , he crossed his arms and tried to make my brother stand in the middle of the road - This childish behavior continued as he threatened to "move my vehicle down the road and charge me even more money". -I had to get the police involved to get my vehicle back, while standing in the exact positions we were prior to the officer arriving on scene.. It seems Sean is on power trip and enjoys making people's day miserable , I haven't heard anything positive from anyone who has dealt with bar towing , and any negative review left with bar towing is met with a swift over drawn out explanation by Sean himself, miraculously detailing only the "positive" experience and removing himself from any sort of accountability for the negative . His response tactic is transparent and repetitive , once he removes himself from being accountable for his own actions , he moves on to "the crucial facts" malarkey while ignoring the facts themselves . Reported to better business bureau , anyone dealing with bar towing ,suggest you do the same as your only other option is going to court and losing more money . read more

My daughter was in an accident up on Santiam Pass on her way back to college. She hit a snowbank instead of oncoming traffic. Between the insurance company and trying to get a tow truck to her, took hours. When Sean called me later that night to head out there (blizzard, winds, cold) he reassured me, spoke to my daughter and made her feel so much better about what happened. Bar Towing is great. After a misunderstanding, they towed my vehicle and were helpful, pleasant and understanding through the whole process. I spoke with a few of their employees, one of which stayed open past his shift so I could pick up my vehicle containing baby supplies. My rim came off my truck. Sean got there pretty quickly and got my truck loaded after he used a few tricks he had up his sleeve. Very friendly and on the ride to my place he explained to me what I needed to do to fix my truck. The people leaving bad reviews either were being impounded or just ungrateful. I've called Sean twice in the last year. The latest experience was the best I could hope for. It really sucks when your car breaks down 20 miles from home! But it only took a quick phone call and the process was not only painless, but Sean consulted with me after. Sean towed me for parking in the wrong place (my fault, I know) but promised to get me a blank receipt if I had towing on my insurance policy (I did) so I called him several times, provided him with the info he requested such as my VIN, etc. but he kept making empty promises (he'll call me back in a few minutes, etc.) but he never did call me or provide the promised receipt. Why keep blowing smoke up my *** if you have no intention of calling me or doing what you promised? What a waste of time. These guys are NOT reputable & I'll never call them for my towing needs. Beware. Steer clear. There are reputable tow companies in Bend, this is NOT one of them. Do your research and you will find that the owner of this company has earned a terrible reputation in town for towing illegally and racking up exorbitant storage fees. Numerous people have been towed by him, without notice and then had to track down their cars. Many people are actually frightened of the owner because if you stand up or question him in any way he gets really scary with threats, hostility, etc. It's crazy he is still in business. He towed our car, kept it for days and charged a ridiculous amount. He acts like the friendliest guy around to some, but if you end up on the wrong side of him, you quickly realize that the "friendly, helpful tow guy" is an act. He is a predatory scammer. My brother in law got in an accident in Bend and Sean went way out of his way in towing the vehicle, storing it, finding a repair and body shop, and interacting with my insurance company. Bar Towing is a Predatory Tow company. More instances are being revealed where they wait for people to park in a bank parking lot as they go to the ATM or such then immediately remove the vehicle. They then jacked up the recovery fee 40% over what is on the City's tow truck contract fee schedule. This happen to a friend of mine one evening so I followed them a following evening and witnessed it again. They are cons and thief's, consequently I would not recommend them for legitimate recovery or other work. BUYER BEWARE!! read more
