UPDATE: all the employees are rude. It's not just the bakery side. Went to grab some apples, and I dared to ask the young female cashier with glasses a question about the apples and got an eye roll. Why so miserable? You are surrounded by happy people buying apple cakes and fruit, how bad could it be?

I read about this place while just searching for things to do in the area of Waynesville. It was close to the antique mall so we decided to swing over. It was about one in the afternoon and the bakery line was about 30 people deep. We decided to leave and come back earlier the next morning Since it did smell fantastic in there. we ended up buying a few apple cider donuts, an apple cookie, and an apple loaf. Also had to grab some fresh apple cider. Everything was extremely delicious. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely return!

They certainly have a plethora of apple varieties. I brought a peck and each one was perfect! Apple cider and apple cider donuts are just amazingly delicious! But the PIÈCE DE RÉSISTANCE is their Mountain Fruit pie. Trying it...?I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The best pie I've had. Honestly, when you're in the area, you've got to stop.

Delicious cider, cider slushee and friendly service. Lots to choose from. We bought a big bag of honey crispy apples to bring back home along with 2 gallons of cider for family and friends. They have their beautiful apple orchards across from the little shop and a few picnic tables out front. J don't like the apple doughnuts though - I highly recommend skipping those.

Family run business. Very clean and definitely the place to be! Many varieties of apples to choose from as well as jams and jellies. The fresh baked treats smells brought me to the front of the place. Wow. So much to choose from! Bought apples, tomatoes, apple butter and apple fritters! Yum!

We called Barber Orchards before going and the young lady that answered the phone said their apples are organic so we drove from GA to NC to get some apples from them. We bought a smaller bag and a big sized bag from them and when we got home, I went to wash some to eat and one of the apples had a sticker on it and it's not organic! Liars! Liars! Liars! We even bought baked goods from them because they said they use the same fresh apples... they should be closed down for lying to people about their produce being organic!

Great apple EVERYTHING - apple turnovers, large pies, donuts, fritters, cookies, cake. Best around pies of all kinds. Bunch of great fresh produce.

They have some good stuff but ZERO customer service so if you're not happy with something just go complain to a brick wall.

If you love homemade apple pie, you'll want to stop and purchase one (or 5!) We buy several and freeze them for special holidays.

That is totally reasonable so we made the truck over. When we arrived however, I thought we were in the wrong place. It has an industrial feel, not a farmers market feel, and there were no markets going on outside. As a matter of fact, the only market was indoor with about a dozen or so stalls. We were disappointed, but I wanted to check it out so my husband remained in the vehicle with our dog. I looked at every market stall inside and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Having produce doesn't make something a farmers market. It just felt like walking around local grocery store. About a third of the vendors were fruits and vegetables and the rest were knick-knacks and t-shirts and miscellaneous items. Also, it was incredibly empty. I mean I understand why. I did find a new cider to try but knowing what I know now, I would most likely not make the drive again. I realize I'm not from the area, but this was no different than any local grocery stores to me.
