We met with Pamela while discussing the possibilities of socialization for our 9-month-old puppy. She asked more questions, quickly understood the things we wanted to work on, and suggested the best plan that fitted the needs of our puppy and our lifestyle. Over the last two weeks, she met with the puppy, took him to different places, assessed his reaction to people and other dogs, and build fundamentals of better reactions. After two training sessions, I noticed how much more responsive my puppy is and how less he is nervous about distractions on walks. She also gave us a lot of advice regarding jumping (before that we tried multiple methods and those have not been as effective), counter surfing, how to redirect out puppy energy into useful work, so on. Pamela is a very experienced trainer and we are looking forward to learning more from her and our collaboration.

They video taped the cats hanging out and getting lots of attention and sent it to me while we were gone. I actually got home a bit early, so it was terrific that Justin could give lots of attention to my male cat (who obviously adored him and wouldn't stop rubbing up against his legs) while I brought my stuff in. Justin even offered to help me unload, but it was even better to see how much the cats loved them! I would recommend them to anyone who has to leave their homes -- it's reassuring to know that pet sitting isn't just a 'job' to them -- they love animals! Melissa and Stacey were his primary caregivers. They looked after our sweet boy with such care, showering him with love and treats while we were at work. They always sent the sweetest pictures of him and updated us with how he was doing. On two occasions BCPS looked after him while we were out of town. They accommodated our timeframe requests for the number of visits we wanted him to have, administered his medication, catered to his picky eating habits, and showered him with lots of love. BCPS always had excellent communication and put us at ease when we were on trips. When our boy passed away last year, BCPS grieved along with us and sent the sweetest sympathy card in the mail. It meant so much. When the time is right, we will adopt another dog and will absolutely work with BCPS again. They are amazing.

Strangest experience. Dee Dee took a disliking to my partner. After the interview was over, she…read morecame back and said her employees found fleas after interacting with our animals. This was a great surprise, so we took all of our pets to the vet, and he confirmed that our pets didn't have any fleas. The problem is that she made a REALLY big deal about the fleas and said that her employees wouldn't sit for us because of the fleas. She lectured us about hard it was to get rid of fleas and that we had to bomb and do follow-up treatment. She was really weird. She first said that one of her employees found 3 fleas on him during the interview. After that, when she came back, she said she was picking fleas off of the other employee and that he told her that he wouldn't pet sit for us. She was awful and oh so strange and the message was that we were lucky to have her team as pet sitters, as though we were the lucky ones to have her, not that we were valued as a customer. Keep in mind that I worked many years as a pet sitter and never would have treated a potential customer the way this very strange team treated us. There are so many pet sitters that are great. Keep looking, please. Thank goodness, our pets don't have fleas, confirmed by our vet. That said, how annoying because she didn't like my partner she made up ugly stories, I guess assuming that we wouldn't check. Very, very weird people, and we're very glad we didn't allow them in our home with our pets when we weren't home.

Packman Dog Walking & Better Behavior is AWESOME! The "Better Behavior" is in there for a reason…read more Not only is Frank a great dog walker, he is also an excellent and effective dog trainer. The concept of combining walking and training is genius - I only wish I had found Packman Dog Walking sooner! I have an 2 y.o. 80lb mixed breed pup. In general, he is well behaved but there were some behaviors that I had just learned to "live with" - i.e. pulling on the leash, barking when the doorbell rings and not always listening when I say "come." We had tried most of the "puppy classes" and trainers in the area and spend a lot of money without much success. Amazingly, within 15 minutes of meeting Captain, Frank had him sitting quietly greeting the postman at our front door. In addition to his excellent dog training, Frank is unique in that he has a keen understanding of dog psychology. Before finding Packman, I was sending my dog to a few different "doggy daycare" facilities in the area. Unfortunately, on a few occasions, my dog came home with cuts and limps and acting out of character. I don't fault these facilities (it is impossible to keep your eye on 20 dogs at one time...), but Frank has offered a great alternative way to socialize my dog in a setting where there is always a human in control. No matter how many dogs Frank is walking, he is always aware of each dog and is therefore able to facilitate healthy, fun socialization. I have a fitness tracker on my dog and I've noticed he gets the same amount of activity in a 1-2hr walk with Frank as he did when he spent a whole day at a daycare facility. Furthermore, Frank is incredibly professional. There is a great deal of trust involved in letting someone into your home while you are not there. Frank has been professional, responsive and respectful of my house and roommates on each and every occasion he has been here. I am at ease knowing that my dog and my home are in great hands while I am working.
