Cici was not in so, I waited a whole 30 minutes before she contacted the barber at her salon, not me. He told me she was in Selma! I was gracious about the whole thing though I booked my appointment well in advance. Things went okay afterwards until I showed up one day and Cici was on her way out the door to work a photo shoot. I'd driven across town to be told that an appointment I booked in advance on Style Seat did not show scheduled. Again... I was gracious and rescheduled. Shame on me. By the time I booked my next appointment, confirming I was scheduled this time, it happened again, but it was a family emergency. This time I was livid, because I'd driven across town yet again with no courtesy call about the matter to reschedule ahead of time. I expressed my grievance to Cici's assistant who was very condescending and pretended that my appointment was yet again not booked. Though when she so-called "initially" scheduled me, I immediately received an email stating that I'd been rescheduled. Also, the assistant also told me that I was wrong about the two previous times that it only happened once. I promptly told her about the Selma incident where I waited 30 minutes before I was told anything. Next, I decided to cancel the new appointment the assistant scheduled for the following day and I was charged $20 for a cancellation fee. Why the charge for my cancellation when Cici was a no show for the 3rd time??? Cici is a good stylist, but she didn't even give my hair a protein treatment to address my breakage like the stylists I found to do my hair the following day. She advertises that she does hair care for special conditions, but didn't even tend to my breakage, only mentioning it and asked if I was going through menopause or something. What???! Cici Cotton is at best a fill in stylist not someone to depend on consistently. When she feels comfortable with you she becomes unprofessional. I am a 20% tipper. So I don't cheap out. I even promoted her services on my Facebook page! Unprofessionalism and unfairness was the thanks I received for my loyalty and business! Now I've learned that my loyalty belongs to the loyal!

Although they didn't have the product/service I requested (colored acrylic), they made every effort to provide the same look with a different application (dip with a tip). My nail tech (Linda) was so kind and responsive, and paid attention to every detail to ensure my hands and feet were amazing. She even asked if I wanted a manicure after the soak off and before the dip full set. Amazing.

I'm from LA, so I thought I'd give it a shot-- it turns out, the owner, Paul, is from LA (well, the OC)! Indeed, it is no coincidence that the shop is called LA nails! I've come here just once, but I am so happy; I've found my new nail shop :) I would recommend calling to make an appointment bc it's always better to let them know ahead of time (sometimes they close early and to minimalize any potential wait). The inside of the shop is minimalistic but cute decor, and the shop itself is clean (100 health department rating)! It's definitely not the best skill and technique I've experienced, but I left the shop so happy and feeling like I got my nails done affordably, had awesome conversations, and was in and out quickly! Awesome, awesome service! THAT is what I'm talking about when I treat myself! Go get yo' nail on, girlfriends!! :)

I am not rough with my hands, and typically gel x lasts months on end. I went in today to ask for a refund, I did not want them touching my nails again, and they argued with me and said that it was policy they couldn't do refunds. There is not a sign or disclaimer anywhere in the store that says that. They only offered a half refund or to come back later so they could do my nails again. Why in the world would I want to repeat my experience here after seeing the quality of their work? It was shoddy and rushed and my nail beds are also destroyed. I spent hours the first time out of my day and paid for a service to be done right, and they didn't deliver. They even accused me of going home and taking my own nails off. I spent SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS, WHAT ON EARTH WOULD COMPEL ME TO GO HOME AND RIP THEM OFF? And then they told me my nails were too short for them to hold anyways. I ASKED the first time I was there if I could do shorter nails so that they would hold, and they told me they would. So I was lied to, given poor service, and then denied my own money back, and didn't even receive an apology. This is disappointing. I was excited to go here and get my nails done, and spent a LOT of money to be treated unfairly. I eventually just opted for the half refund. I will NEVER go here again and I will tell every single woman I know to steer clear of this place and just go to Royal Nails or Fancy Nails instead.
