Wow, everything today was delicious! Barb's Soulfood was at Tioga, we've been wanting to try this food truck. My husband ordered three of the chicken dinners which was chicken wings not a variety of pieces, which I assumed from the price. the taste made up for it. (Except now I would really like a juicy chicken breast.) We also got the combo/marathon. Glad we did because the fried fish and shrimp are worth the additional price. The shrimp has a light batter, I really liked them and will order a shrimp dinner the next time. Our sides were string beans with bacon - YUMM they were still hot when I dug in, collard greens - yeah, YUMM (not too salty which is key for me) and potato salad - YUM again (heavy on the mustard as it should be)!. When I saw that there was a soulfood food truck. I was excited. We decided to give this food truck a try due to wanting to try something new and wanting to support local for Yelp's Big Night In. They had a lot of success in Germany so I was elated to try them. Please be mindful that this is my first experience with this food truck so this is my personal experience, it may change. Other experiences could be different. I sent my husband to pick up the food. We each got a combo plate. One was fried chicken and came with two sides. I asked for collard greens and cornbread. They were out of collared greens so I got a potato salad. My husband got a fried fish combo for $14 with cornbread and potato salad. If you notice on my pictures, there are pictures of corn bread with each combo, however, those were the only two that came with each combo plate. Kind of a ripoff if you notice the size difference. My husband's fried fish combo came with only those three pieces of fish, one of those corn bread and potato salad. For $14, it was not worth it. My fried chicken combo was $12 and had a lot of pieces and if they gave me that big piece of cornbread, then, it was worth $12. It needed more salt and cornbread was a little burned. While we do want them to succeed, we were very underwhelmed. Not feeling Barbs. read more

We had Barb's Soulfood food truck do a "lunch to-go" for all of our employees last week. We served over 90 to-go lunches. They did an outstanding job. Super friendly staff. Delicious food. I LOVED the wings...some of the best I've had. My husband loved the fish. And don't get me started on the beans and potato salad...two of my faves and they nailed it. Love them both! Went to check out Tioga Beer Garden and came across a soul food truck! Can't believe we found soul food out here but so glad we did! I can't recommend the FISH plate enough, omg... needed 2 sides: mac n cheese and cornbread. Amazing! The best soul food I have ever had! Ordered the marathon to get a little bit of everything which included fried chicken, fried shrimp, fried fish, Mac n cheese, green beans, and potato salad. It has been a long time since I have loved literally every item that comes in a combo like this but this was absolutely delicious. You can actually taste the love that goes into this food! And to top it off, for desert, I had the banana pudding and sweet potato pie!......TO DIE FOR! Not to forget the tasty Kool-Aid served with a lemon slice to wash all that goodness down with !!! Everything I had was excellent. The green beans had so much flavor they were simply the best I've had. The fries (both styles) were perfect. The Peach Cobbler...OMG....is to die for.
