This place is don't sleep on it. All the meats are good, sticky rice is a great way to eat bbq. And their sauces.. addicting.

Place is located inside the gas station. Tried the Brisket, Lao Sausage and Pork Belly. The Pork Belly was the most flavorful out of the 3 of these. Brisket was good and wasn't dry. The Lao Sausage was okay, tasted the smoked more than the sausage.

2 meat combo with cornbread and mac & cheese

I've been hearing about Sap BBQ for a while now but finally got a chance to try it at River Park farmers market. We had the pork belly combo plate with cornbread (boohoo sticky rice ran out) and the 2 meat combo plate (brisket and Lao sausage) with cornbread and mac and cheese (regular). Both included the pepper sauce. Everything was delicious. The brisket was juicy and had excellent smoke flavor. The pork belly was perfectly rendered and the Lao sausage had great Southeast Asian flavor with lemongrass, etc. the pepper sauce took it over the top. The only mediocre thing was the regular mac and cheese but then again I'm not usually a fan of mac and cheese. Overall, this is excellent bbq... and I've been to Franklin's, Terry Black's BBQ, and Smitty in Texas. Would highly recommend Sap BBQ!

Pork Belly and Brisket. Spicy lime pepper

Not bad for a hidden place inside a gas station. The food was great. Tastes like homemade. Some very comfy food for certain people. The two work was nice. They forgot my meat on the side but they were very understanding and gave it to me. No question ask. Great services Overall 4.5/5 to me.

We also each ordered a smoked salmon onigiri: a triangle of sesame seed covered rice stuffed with smoked salmon and wrapped in seaweed. So damn good! Actually, I knew this food was going to be scrumptious because I had recently started following them on Instagram where they posted all their cooking preparations ahead of time - go check them out if you're into food porn. Obviously, I highly recommend this food truck. (I think they also operate Pacific Fried Chicken which I've been meaning to try and appears highly rated.) Service was also great and food came out in a good amount of time. Next time I need to try the coffee; it sounded interesting flavors and later I saw it came bottled.

I'm not too close to Fresno but would recommend this to anyone who is in the area. I would make it a point to come back again if I were in the area for sure! My husband got the chicken and waffles while I ordered one of their specials of the day - rib tips. I got mashed potatoes and macaroni on the side (they were delicious but definitely regretted not trying other sides). The rib tips were perfect, smokey and tender. The fried chicken was sooo crispy and juicy. I do prefer crispier waffles, but it still went well with the very crispy chicken. The portions are plentiful, I had enough for a second meal.

Our favorite: fried green tomatoes and okra for appetizers. The sauce was awesome. 5 stars! The sides: collard greens were very salty for my taste but full of flavor. Rice pilaf was flavorful but was also salty. Sweet potatoes were perfect. Corn bread was just ok. 4 start. We met Chef Paul himself. He was nice and very funny! The restaurant is small so there will be a wait. We got there around 2pm so we didn't have to wait too long. Maybe just 20 mins. We'll be back for sure if we're back on that side again.

I don't know if I've ever used the front door. Sinatra style music, intimate booths and tables, dark wood, beautiful bar, waitresses and staff who are friendly and efficient. You can actually have an intimate conversation. We usually get the dinner for 2 for $89.99. Choice of salmon, New York steak or prime rib. Comes with a glass of house wine, shrimp cocktail (spicy sauce), soup or salad, choice of green beans (house specialty) or brown beans, potato (mashed, fries, or baked) or pilaf and your entree. The horseradish is served with zip not a watered down version you get sometimes ask for au jus it's so good. The bus boys refill your water glasses and remove plates quickly. The wonderful waitresses check in "All good? Do you want another glass of...?" The owner will come by and ask you how's your dinner and chit chat. Old fashion proprietor hospitality that we don't see enough any more. The original owner, Richard S did this as well and I love that his grandson carries on the tradition. Sit at the bar, either before or afterwards, hopefully Leeann will be bartending and have a well made drink, watch TV (not blaring) and just relax. I understand and respect their history, but that is not an excuse for them to continue to live in the past. It is bad enough their location has turned undesirable over the years, so they need to continue to improve aspects of the business to keep people coming in. There was a security guard at the entrance (FYI the entrance is in the back, so upon entering you are immediately greeted by the restrooms and the doors that show off the kitchen work space. Long story short, it makes for an awkward and uncomfortable start to your experience for a first timer). Anyways, the security guard was in the same place when we arrived (looking at his phone) and in the same place when we left (still looking at his phone). If someone messed with my car, which was out of sight slightly around the corner of the building close to Belmont, would he have noticed or cared? This question is sure to be up there with the ol timeless chicken or the egg quandry and the if a tree fell in a forest paradox) Positives: Their meats were good (we tried the prime rib, of course, and a bacon wrapped filet). No complaints there. I should mention I took my love and my momma for her bday. My mom enjoyed herself well enough. The service was good. The waitress humored my (sometimes annoying) mom (lmao) and the hostess was also nice, checking on us during the meal even. She brought my mom some ice cream at the end and led us in singing happy birthday, which was sweet. The main fault: the sides. They were so mundane it almost made the rest of the meal seem overpriced and lackluster. Sides should be something local or at least prepared. Instead it was some slop from a can or a warmer filled with hot liquid broth. It was like cafeteria food or the heated up veggies one might get during a hospital stay. Completely unacceptable quality if you want to maintain the allure of a fancy restraunt serving 40+ dollar cuts of meat. Rice was mediocre, mashed potatoes were decent but again probably a cost cutting side. So all in all, the food wasn't something to brag about. The interior has some nice paintings of bare chested ladies. As a champion for women, it seemed a little extreme that in my sight i could see 6 titties, but as a man, excluding my champion for women title, I thought it was great. However, being with my mom and my woman made this dichotomy even more perplexing. The strangest part of all of this was when I went in the men's restroom there wasn't another topless woman painting. Instead it was some old dude. Wth? That's when I relaized it was like the rest of the experience here - unique, a bit outdated, and all over the place. Still enjoyable, but also pretty sad and confusing.

The person came by to serve us water noticed our table was pretty wobbly so he fixed it instantly. I thought that was great for them to notice the small details. They always came by to fill our waters 4-5 times. They also remembered we were celebrating an anniversary so they offered us complementary champagne. Our waitress Celeste was very excellent. She gave suggested me dishes that I couldn't decide. We ended up getting the chicken taquitos ($17), the pork chop ($36) and the prime sirloin ($36). Food was delicious and everything tasted so good. I like the roasted Brussels spouts flakes on the pork chop and even though the sirloin was medium it was still very tender. Even the one time our water cups were empty she noticed and apologized and came back to refill them. The chicken taquitos were very good as well. Bathroom is a little small with only three stalls and one sink but the staff was nice enough to direct me to them cuz they saw I was looking around. Overall is a very good experience. I can see why they're very busy and I hope to come back to try their other dishes!
