Came here to have a couple drinks with a friend. Ordered our first drinks and my friend accidentally spilled one. While we're in the process of cleaning up, the bartender makes us another drink without even asking us. "Oh thanks! You didn't have to do that!" She just smiled or something. So we drank the drink thinking she re made it for us. Get the bill and she charged us for 3. I didn't even say anything because I'm not trying to cause a scene or argue. BUT WHO DOES THAT? The atmosphere is great- fun cheap arcade games, but the food is still just a step above bar food for brunch. The hummus was eh and the breakfast tots were soggy and gross. The staff however was phenomenal- they took off the tots from oir bill and were SO on top of our drinks- $1 mimosas!! This used to be a great place to eat/drink/play games. Prices seemed to have jumped between the last two times I was there and they once had a half price drinks/food on Mondays but now its just food. Half the games don't work, the ski ball only has like 4-5 balls in it, and the place is so dark it's most depressing to go into at night. Parking at night is valet only which is crazy. The female bartenders can cone across rude but it kinda fits with the sudden decline of this place. I wish they'd upgrade the whole place and rock it like they used to. read more

I read all of these reviews I honestly keep shaking my head. Let me go down my list of reasons... Everyone is complaining about the games... one girl even said she didn't recognize over half the games... WHAT?!?!?!? WERE YOU BORN IN 2004? Galaga? Star Wars? Q-bert? Tempest? Phoenix? Defender? Joust? Spy Hunter? Mario Bros? How do you not recognize these games for the classics they are? And they just added Street Fighter, EVERYONE LOVES STREET FIGHTER... right??? And about the Skee Ball always being broken... don't you people realize that these machiens are original 80s machines? I was born in the 80s and I'm starting to break, too. You can't expect everything originally that old to be in mint condition. I bet those games are more of a hassle of them to have for us then they're worth. So lets appreciate that they're even there in the first place instead of bashing the poor grandpaw machines for lasting as long as we did while dealing with more drunks than we've seen in or measely lives. And while we're on the topic of games- who complains about the giant jenga falling on them? Seriously, its GIANT JENGA! Badass. But if you're worried about the game falling on you don't sit next to it. And if you're going to play, then don't complain that the game falls thats kind of the point. A splinter lawsuit waiting to happen? More like a hurt waitress waiting to happen, I watched 2 groups of people play and after being done just leaving the pieces lying scattered across the patio and a few minutes later a waitress come out to deliver that same group drinks almost killing herself over the game she wasn't expecting to find left all over the ground. Every time I've gone the wait staff and bartenders have been funny, interesting, helpful, and overall unique. Thank god I didn't have to deal with the typical bimbo waitress who didn't know shit about what she was serving or the career bartender who looked weathered to about 70 with no personaility. The waitress gave me sassy come backs and interesting stories all for which I had great appreciation. The bartenders themselves when I sit at the bar are generally timely expect when busy which I forgive. Not only is the staff great to me, they're fun to watch interacting with others including each other. The food is killer. I eat almost every time I visit. Their menu could use a bit more but all in all it IS a bar. I haven't gotten sick of that Barcadia Burger yet, I dare you to find me when I do. Needless to say, over the past month or 2 this place has become my new favorite. To all of you people bashing the place, give it a second chance before tearing them a new one. The place is fairly new from what I've gathered, it takes a minute to work out kinks. Also, what most people are complaining about are personal pickyness and you can't expect a bar to cater to EVERY single self centered person out there. I wrote this review after over hearing one of the owners ream a waitress telling her their were nothing but terrible reviews about serivce on the web. You people should be ashamed. Those girls are always friendly and smiling when I go. Sure I expect a good quip or 2 out of their mouths but thats part of the charm. At the end of the day they sit just like we do at the bar to have a drink and shake off the pain in their feet from hours of work. I love this place! I own and teach at Padma Yoga right next door and Barcadia is always there for us yogi's to stop in after a hard class. This place offers a vegan option to almost everything on their menu! The crowd is always laid back and they even allow dogs to hang out on the patio. We've been taking our pup there and even he loves it! They have tons of cool old school games and even massive sized Jenga and Connect 4. will not go back. ever. went there with a group of friends...half paying with card and half cash - at the bar. drinks were fair, prices a little stout, but service lacking. i went back to the bar for drink #2 and asked for another. she said sure, if you tip this time. really? i'm paying with a card that has an open tab so pardon me if i don't hand you cash every time. not to mention, there's not a tip jar on the entire bar if i was paying cash. the audacity of this bit*h was amazing. apparently somebody didn't leave her a tip that was paying cash on that drink and then she takes it out on another customer. later i had a problem with them FINDING my card. dude that thinks he's the situation from jersey shore was more rude than the other girl behind the bar. i'm actually hoping he forges the tip amount that i did leave on my credit card receipt so I can prosecute him. very slimy. where has the service in the service industry gone? was that outsourced too?? other than the awful staff, the place is fair at best. read more

Pretty average bar. Great quick bar service. Very crowded patio. My one (very) drunk friend ducked like a soldier with a bad case of PTSD every time one of the giant Jenga sets fell. I don't ever write reviews, but my last 4 or 5 trips to Barcadia have been awful. The actual bar is fun and it has a good drink selection. The problem is they have the biggest jerk as a bouncer. He has approached and attempted to fight multiple friends of mine on different occasions. He has a huge power trip. I tried to look past it the first couple of times my friends had a problem with him but sorry tonight was the last time. I will not going back there. Great spot off of Henderson. I love all the old school video games and the outside patio right on the street is very urban. Dig it! I'm giving this rating not because of the bartenders, waitress or establishment itself, but because of their "manager". I tried to book a birthday party earlier this month, but after my boyfriends sent j3 emails and zero returned calls to confirm from their manager, we opted to host the party somewhere else that could CONFIRM and accommodate our party of 20. Before the birthday party started this weekend at the other establishment, we decided to have a few pre party drinks at Barcadia, since we live down the street. Unfortunately, when we went to the bar, we had the opportunity to meet their "manager". Besides looking disheveled, she was clearly intoxicated. She didn't get our order correct, tried to have us pay TWICE, and in the span of literally 11 minutes for two draft beers, we witnessed her take shots with other customers.
