This place is truly a hidden gem. It was scorching hot outside so it was so nice to get inside and enjoy some ice cold drinks and great food. The atmosphere was great and trendy and this is defintely a place you'd love to take photos for your Instagram or to make Tik Toks.

Having visited the Ghost Donkey locations in Phoenix and Dallas, I was so excited to stumbled upon this location in Dallas! If you're not looking for it, you could very well miss the entrance. Located near Palma restaurant, you'll find this vibrant speakeasy tucked away. Upon entering, we were greeted by dazzling lights and upbeat music. This bar mostly specializes in mezcal and tequila- focused cocktails. But know, you can't go wrong with anything you chose. The bartenders were friendly and eager to help provide recommendations. If you're ever in the area, be sure to pop in for a delectable drink!

Had to visit again and this time it did not disappoint, the bartenders and staff have high fun energy! Drinks are good and reasonable priced! Enjoyed my night

If you're the kind of person who enjoys a little mystery with your mezcal, let me introduce you to "Ghost Donkey"--Deep Ellum's hidden shrine to Mexican spirits and unreasonably good vibes. Tucked inside Palma (yes, inside--enter from Main Street and look for the unmarked door just to the right of the host stand, adorned with a painted donkey and glowing neon), this bar feels like a speakeasy dreamt up during a tequila-fueled fever dream. The vibe? Electric. Eclectic. Loud--in that "your night is about to get interesting" kind of way. Ghost Donkey opens at 4 PM, and if you want a seat or some quality time with the excellent bar staff, go early. By 5:30, it's already buzzing. I went with my friend Jesse and caught up with my homegirl Grace from law school--clearly, this place draws a smart and lively (and younger) crowd. Ghost Donkey is all about agave: tequila, mezcal, and sotol are the stars, and the cocktail menu is anything but standard. Expect bold, creative, boundary-pushing drinks served with flair and often a tiny burro. The happy hour deals are solid, especially on margaritas and à la carte tacos, plus snacks like chips, salsa, and quesadillas. But don't sleep on going off-menu. The Golden Donkey--crafted by our mixologist Mike--was the standout of the night: reposado tequila, coconut cream, agave, and charred pineapple juice in a velvety tropical blend that tasted like vacation in a glass. Whether you're brushing up on your agave knowledge or just in search of a damn good cocktail in a damn cool setting, Ghost Donkey delivers. It doesn't just pour drinks--it builds an experience. Pro tip: Find the donkey. Walk through the door. Stay awhile. Rating: 4 out of 5 spectral burros.

Tried to get into Palma but it was at capacity so came into here and caught happy hour: $8 drinks & $2 tacos ..Get the stealth marg and thank me later! The frozen marg is so refreshing and tasty tried both the carne asada and chicken tinga, the carne with the verde was my fav but the chicken tinga was super juicy It's kind of small in here but in a good way, feels very homey almost. The bartenders were super nice too!

We don't go to Deep Ellum often, but stumbled upon Ghost Donkey on Yelp while we were nearby. We went around 5pm on a Saturday and sat at the bar. Drinks were quick and tasty, snacks were good and the service was GREAT. Mike the bartender took care of us but the rest of the staff was also excellent. Would recommend!

How can you argue with that? You can't. Solid. - spicy chicken strips: these were good but nothing special. What was special were the sauces this came with. Aside from that, we felt the chicken was kinda dry. Very crispy though. - bourbon bread pudding: Just Good.

After requesting a water to go, we were unexpectedly accused by the bartender, Jake, of placing an alcoholic beverage into a to-go cup. The accusation was embarrassing, unnecessary, and made even more uncomfortable by the fact that it was made publicly and without cause. To be fair, the manager on staff handled our complaint regarding Jake professionally and with care, which we truly appreciated. However, the situation itself left a lasting negative impression. As professionals in the criminal law and medical fields, we value professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication. Being wrongly accused in that manner was disappointing and frankly humiliating. Because of this experience, we will not be returning anytime soon, despite what had otherwise been an enjoyable evening.

Okay!!! Las Palmas has officially been added to our work trip dinner rotation!! No…read morereservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. We are still talking about Las Palmas days later and can't wait until we are back in Dallas to bring more of our group here to enjoy delicious food and great service!!

A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!
