Okay!!! Las Palmas has officially been added to our work trip dinner rotation!! No reservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. We are still talking about Las Palmas days later and can't wait until we are back in Dallas to bring more of our group here to enjoy delicious food and great service!! read more

I came here for my birthday dinner with a couple of friends and overall had a really great experience. A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. LOVE this place. God bless the people who came up with Las Palmas. First of all, please never change the queso- it is heaven sent and we always take it to-go (I'm NEVER leaving the rest behind) and it tastes even better the next day. This queso is probably the best I've ever had. BTW it is a LIL spicy but I can let that slide. Another great appetizer option would be the Nachos Al Carbon with wagyu. Super good too & honestly you can even order it for just one person as a main dish-- the serving size is big enough. BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE SHOW AT LAS PALMAS ARE THE WAGYU FAJITAS!!! Incredible. We came in on our trip to Dallas as this spot was highly recommended by friends. We ordered some dishes and drinks off the happy hour menu and everything was delicious! We ordered the crispy cheesy taco and tamales covered with queso. We ordered one chicken and one beef taco, so we could try each. While I preferred the chicken, my boyfriend preferred the beef, so there's something for everyone. We were blown away by the salsas though. I'm so happy. This was a great call. Dad and I came here for dinner and it was perfect. We came on a Monday at 630pm and it was packed but we did get a table outside with no wait. Surprisingly, it wasn't too hot. The service was top notch. I had my eye on the manager as soon as we came in (super cute ) the hand tattoo will be in my dreams tonight. He brought dad and I a guacamole on the house to perfect our dad daughter date. How cute is that! Isai was our server and he was super attentive. We never had to wait to order anything. Had such a nice lunch with my family at Las Palmas! This was our second time visiting this location and it definitely lived up to the hype again. Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. Even though we didn't have one, they were still able to accommodate our group which we really appreciated. The service was amazing...everyone was so polite, attentive, and fast. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. This place has the best fajitas I ever had. I got the mesquite chicken fajitas. The chicken was so juicy & smoky. The bone marrow butter is the reason why it's so good. I wished it came with more than 3 tortillas or at least 4 since I don't put too much meat in my fajitas. I also tried the hickory grilled ribs. It was kinda salty, but the barbecue sauce was ok. The meat was very tender & falls off the bone. The fries that it comes with were alright. There was a little of wait, but I didn't mind since the food was good. Our food did take a while. Our waitress was very attentive & filled our water. There was seating inside & outside on the patio. I was glad that we were sat outside since it was a beautiful day today. I was introduced to Las Palmas at the food and Wine festival at the Arboretum recently and I knew that I had to visit the actual restaurant. I came here with my dad on a Sunday morning for brunch. We didn't order very many things unfortunately but we did try the Elote and flautas. I enjoyed the flautas, but the Elote was giving more of like a corn salad than actual Elote. I wasn't a really big fan and it was served with crackers which I found kind of odd. Chips and salsa were solid. Service was solid. Would definitely go back to try more items, just not a fan of the elote. The restaurant seems to have a really cute vibe, but I did think it was a little bit too dark especially for morning time. Came here before going to work. Me and my coworker were trying out various restaurants in Dallas and this place had a high rating so decided to try it out. There was a long wait line but we told the server we can eat at the bar and got seated immediately which was nice. Otherwise, we wouldn't had made it to work on time. I got the Akausghi wagyu fajitas full size ($51). After I got the food, full size means double the portion on everything like meat, rice, beans, etc. I thought it would be double the meat only. I gave the rice, beans, flour tortilla, to the lady who sat next to me. Food was very delicious! Also got complimentary chips and salsa and it was super good as well! Highly recommend sitting in the covered patio on a cooler Texas day if you're not a fan of extremely moody(read dark) lighting. Here's what we got: - Queso Blanco: Fantastic and highly recommend. The jalapeños and micro greens are what truly make the queso. Also love the fact that the queso itself is a thick boy. - Wagyu fajitas WITH BEEF TABLITAS: the renowned people's favorite. It's good, but not God's greatest gift on Earth, the way people describe it. The beef tablitas as an add on though were phenomenal. If it were just me going back to this place, I'd do a side of tablitas without the fajitas. - Birria tacos: solid. Would get again. - Sopapilla cheesecake: Delightful. Would get again. My wife and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon at 4:40pm and were quoted a 45 min to an hour wait. We were fortunately alerted in about 30 mins of a covered patio opening. Parking can be tricky so keep your eyes peeled for street parking near the restaurant. I walked here from a nearby hotel, so I can't speak for the parking/valet, but it was definitely very busy. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. My go-to spot if I can get a reservation. This place is always so popular, and for good reason. I went with my girlfriend on a Thursday evening and we were sat quickly after arriving. The goose in the garden drink is our favorite, however not on the menu any more. Isai and Kenia were helping us out all night and they were amazing! Accommodating, prompt, and great personalities! This evening I had two guys that work in my building come and help me put together my patio set that I bought from Wayfair, which I will leave that for another review. These guys worked really hard because everything came in a ton of pieces. Everything had to be put together. It was very labor-intensive so in addition to giving them cash I really had to get them some dinner I ordered from Las Palmas, a place I have eaten at before and loved it. Well tonight they did not disappoint. I had the fish taco plate which was so flavorful. I can't even begin to describe it. Tried Las Palmas for the first time this past Sunday. I'm on a circuit of "must try before I bring a guest here" weekend bookings. Since I'm new in town, I don't want to slip up when I have guests and take them somewhere no bueno. I've been checking places out on my own, since I'm here by myself (: I have a handful of fav Mexican spots back home in LA. I wasn't sure how the TX Mexican scene would hold up but I'm not super hard to please (other than I actually am extremely hard to please)... make a solid marg, have some type of vibe, and a plate that hits the spot and I'm solid. Las Palmas was great! I'd totally bring a guest. I loved the two salsa option. Your girl loves options!! Hit me with the roja y verde! I ordered the brisket taco meal although this is very "outside" my box of a pretty standard enchilada order around these parts but they were tasty! Back home my go to was usually a flautas appetizer and saw this on the menu but wanted to check these highly acclaimed brisket tacos out. They did not disappoint. Loved the decor of the place. The inside is nice but so dark! It's actually hard to see where you're going. Service by Chance was exceptional. He was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. We sat down at the bar and were almost immediately greeted by the bartenders, they gave us water as well as chips with salsa. We received two different salsas, a green one and a red/brown smoky one, the smoky salsa was really good, and it had almost a smoky, very chipotle flavor. I asked for the Avacado shrimp salad, and after about 10-12 minutes all of our food came out, despite the restaurant being busy. In total we ordered my salad, a Cactus empanada of sorts, a couple tacos as well as a couple enchiladas. For about 20 dollars, the proportion of my salad was stellar! I got plenty of shrimp as well as a gracious amount of Avacado to go with it, all sitting on a bed of crispy salad, diced cucumbers and grated cheese (not sure which cheese.) The enchiladas were delicious, I got a bite of it and it was very bright, the mushrooms in it went well with the flavor they were trying to go for, and the sauce on top was delicious. The music wasn't too loud but it was noticeable, the lights all around were nice and dim, and there was occasional floral and red candle decorations around the place giving it a flowery, near authentic Tex-Mex restaurant experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get really good Tex-Mex food with a very nice service! P.S: I love that they have the addition of mouthwash in their bathrooms, perfect for adjusting your breath on a date. They ended up having an opening within about 15 minutes which was great. The server was very helpful and kind. Even in a busy restaurant he took great care of us. The atmosphere inside is VERY dark/moody. Many reviews cite this as a plus, but in reality you're forced to pull out your phone to read the menu. Next, we were bothered by a bunch of flies where we got seated originally. We asked to move tables and they obliged, but the seats around the tables are all very uncomfortable. You can't sit back and also be close enough to eat from the edge of the table. Next, the food. I like spicy food, but even the guacamole was spicy. That isn't typical, guac is supposed to be a palette balancer for the other spicy foods. Then, the beef quesadillas were very chewy, and the beef itself had an extremely smoky flavor. Others in my party got the beans, and they said they were very spicy as well, not the typical flavor profile for refried beans. Overall, I was NOT impressed. If you've experienced quality local Tex-Mex, do not be fooled by the 4.3 star (at this time) review. It's mostly hype from Dallasite uptowners that have likely never had real Tex-Mex. The staff was very sweet and not snobby at all- even though I had my 2 young kids with me. Ughhh I'm heartbroken to say that Las Palmas was a total disappointment from start to finish!! Especially because I've heard so many good things about it, but unfortunately for us those things turned out not to be true. Our lunch experience was unpleasant every step of the way. After being seated, we waited nearly 20 minutes before a waiter even came to our table, which let me also start off by saying it was lunchtime so I didn't have 20 minutes to wait to just place an order!! And to make matters worse they weren't even crowded, which made it all the more ridiculous. When our food finally arrived, we wanted to ask for condiments but once again we had to wait for the waiter to return. Unfortunately, he never did. We ended up flagging down other staff members multiple times just to get condiments and drink refills. To make matters worse, my sister's meal was made incorrectly. Overall, poor service and careless mistakes ruined what should have been a simple pleasant lunch. Needless to say... we won't be returning!! One of the better Tex Mex spots in Dallas! Las Palmas has an elevated vibe and is a bit dark inside. I like the akaushi wagyu fajitas, which comes with sides of refried beans, rice, cheese, guac, pico, sour cream, and bone marrow butter. The steak is tender, and the tortillas are soft and fresh. In my opinion, both the margaritas and red/green salsa here are about average, but an average marg and chips & salsa is still pretty good. Service was awful. None of my reservation accommodations were followed. When ordering the waitress rolled her eyes and had an attitude and seemed like she was in a rush to get us out. Halfway through eating she tried to grab our plates and didn't even offer to pack our food up. The food however did taste great on the bright side: I got the brisket birria tacos and it was good, but unlike traditional birria.
