Worst services provider, we have used the different company but this first time we decided to get Barcelona City Tour in which is very bad experience for our family. The staff are not helpful and sincere, they are careless customers. Seems they do not appreciate customers ơn their business. We are very disappointed about the Barcelona City Tour.
The city bus tour in Barcelona is a great way to explore the city, with two routes that take you to different areas. One line takes you along the coast, offering scenic views near the ocean, while the other heads more north, meeting up at Plaça de Catalunya, the main square in Barcelona near Las Ramblas. I highly recommend doing both routes for a full experience. While I've seen some mixed reviews, it's a solid option. The buses can get crowded during peak times, especially at popular spots like Sagrada Familia, so try hopping on at less touristy locations to avoid this. I've also had some issues with the audio on the buses, which could be a problem for some. Personally, I just chose not to listen and focused on taking in the sights, which worked fine for me. While the audio might not always be reliable, the views and convenience of the tour make it worthwhile. By the end of the tour, I couldn't help but think....being above ground, taking in the sights, is so much better than being stuck in the metro with nothing to see!
There are two bus tour options in Barcelona and I studied them closely to pick City Tours. Less stops but less wait, I read. I also liked that they had an app - but it is essentially useless. It doesn't really help give you info for tickets or for what is available to see at the various stops. They promote free wifi but it only worked on about 2 of 8 or so busses we took in 2 days. They make you sign into it repeatedly. The audio guide was sometimes mistimed and early or late to describe landmarks. They also offer "free walking tours" which I couldn't find on the app... I asked about 4 different employees about it and they all had no idea what it referred to (the QR code on the bus just led to the useless Julia Tours website). Otherwise the tour routes were fine and somewhat interesting, but the experience would be improved with a better app, wifi that works and actual walking tours to follow.
This particular bus route had 2 separate bus routes that took you through different areas of interest in Barcelona. This is something I wish we had done earlier in our stay in Barcelona as it really gives you a broad overview of places in the city. The original starting point for both the orange & green line was at a plaza about 1/2 miles from our hotel. The buses started running @ 9am & run until 6pm for a complete loop back to the starting point. You are given a map & headphones. The headphones plug into jacks in the bus where you have an option of 6 different languages. There were 2 separate routes, the orange line & the green line. We should looked at the points of interest on the different routes as they are vastly different. This was in December & It was chilly out so we initially sat inside the bus which proved to be a mistake as you couldn't really see as much from the inside as on top of the bus. After realizing this we went to the top (even though it was chilly) where we could see much more. We started on the orange line which took us on a route south & west. Part way through the route I realized that the main points that we wanted to see were on the green line route. Places like Sagrada Familia & Park Guell were both off of the green line route. We jumped off of the orange line by the Waterfront and walked to the transfer point where the green line stop was. After waiting for about 30 mins the green line bus picked us up & we were on the way to our preferred destinations. We jumped off at Sagrada Familia & walked around the exterior of the building. We had tickets to enter Sagrada Familia 2 days later so we didn't spent a lot of time there. Getting back on the Green Line we continued on our way to Park Guell. The bus dropped us off at the stop designated for Park Guell what we didn't know at the time was where the Park was from where we were dropped off. We followed the crowd up a long steep incline huffing & puffing, then up a whole sh-t load of stairs. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & TAKE A TAXI FROM THE BUS STOP INSTEAD OF WALKING TO THE PARK @ THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN. Besides being exhausting we were kind of under a time crunch because we had to be back on the other side of Barcelona to take a 72 PCR test before the lab closed. The 2 bus lines go full circle back to the same starting point in the plaza. You can get on or off as many times as you want within the time period just be aware of the time & route schedules or you could end up on the other side of town at the end of the day. Overall I found the hop on hop off bus very useful & a great way to see many points of interest in the city. You can always go back and spent more time at the areas that are of interest to you.
i used the Hop on hop off bus as a means of transport to some of the major attractions. There are two routes, orange which takes you to places like Casa Batllo and the Gothic Quarter and green which takes you to the Segrade Familia and Park Guell. Although quite windy and cold on the open top deck, it was an enjoyable ride. Earphones and a map are provided when hopping on, i can't use the earphones as I wear hearing aids but each stop is clearly stated on a tall bright signpost. I would recommend the hop on hop off bus as its a very easy, enjoyable way to get around and see Barcelona, hop off whenever something catches your eye, then hop back on at any of the tour stops to continue on the journey.
We purchased a 24 hour pass in Barcelona on the heels of a similar tour bus experience we had in London just a few days before. I would highly recommend that you do not pay for this particular bus tour. Find another bus company in Barcelona. The a/c and wifi in the bus did not work. We were on at least 3 different buses during our route and none of the buses delivered as promised in the promotional pamphlets. Also, at one stop, for Parque Guell, when we were leaving we waited at least 20 minutes for a bus although the bus is supposed to arrive approximately every 10 minutes. A competitor's bus stop was right next to our and we saw 3 of their buses come and go while we waited. Once our bus pulled up, only about 15 people were able to get on which caused us to have to wait for the next bus. When the next bus pulled up, it unloaded and then left without taking any passengers from our stop. So we waited on a 3rd bus. The line on the street was very long at this point. People started complaining to the bus employees about the major inconvenience of waiting a very long time in the hot sun for this terrible service. The entire time, we saw competitors' buses continue to come and go. This bus company did stop right in front of Sagrada Familia, but so did the other bus companies. Although there are 2 different routes available, orange and green, we were so frustrated that we only did the green route. I would suggest you research other companies if you want to do a tour like this. It is nice that you can get off and on at your convenience, but they all seem to offer that, so look elsewhere for a company that will treat you like they appreciate your business.

I purchases a 24 hour pass which was plenty on a short visit to Barcelona. There were two routes, Orange and Green which covered most of the tourist parts of the city. It was easy to change between the two routes as a few stops overlapped. If rain is happening, you will want to sit on the lower deck eventhough there is a retractable canopy. On a sunny, cool day, the upper deck is the best. You will be given a pair of disposable headphones to understand the commentary. Many languages are available all from the plug in boxes located at each seat. Midday is most crowded but they will have busses constantly running the routes. They will offer an option to upgrade to the 48 hour pass if you feel you didn't have enough time to see everything. To traverse the entire route without getting off, plan for 120 minutes with all the traffic and stops along the way. read more
Decided the way to see the City of Barcelona was to use the Hop on Hop Off Bus. We decided to do the two routes all in one day. After the fact decided it would have been better to split it up over two days. Tiring and a bit warm in afternoon. We caught the line first thing in the morning walking a short distance from our hotel. Seated ourselves in the open air section on top, it was slightly cool however we were prepared with windbreakers. Although I should have worn my hat and brought water. The bus took us past all the main tourist spots, the audio plug on the bus made it possible to follow the prerecorded guide. This was a great way to see if there were areas that we would like to visit in the future. The bus provided earbuds. We had to ask for them, the young guy checking us in seemed a little out of sorts. We didn't hop off accept to changed buses for the other route. read more

We got to see a variety of places. Get on & off the bus. 20 minutes later another one would show up. Love the ability to sit up top & see everything. A bit chili in winter season, but fun. read more

I got to spend the last day of our trip in Barcelona. The hop on hop off bus is the best way to sightsee the city in a short time period. I didn't get to see everything but it was good enough. The price was average. I did have a hard time finding where the bus stops and picked up people. There were so many of the Bus Turisitic but not many of the Red Barcelona City tour bus. I did wasted about an hour trying to locate the bus. After I found the bus, I gave them my printed ticket. They gave me headphones and a book guide. You can get on and off as many times as you like. read more

Best way to Tour the city of Barcelona...in my opinion. Two buses ran through the entire city when I was there this fall. The buses give you a chance to sit back, relax, and spectate. If you want you can hop on and off as many times as you want at different spots in the city. Each bus can get a little crowded with tourist, but most are on a few stops then off. The tours info that's plays isn't very helpful when it's either ahead or behind each stop. But you can use your map and google to help you research areas of interest. I'd definitely using this tour option when visiting Barcelona read more

We found the HOHO a great way to see Barcelona for a reasonable price. We got the 2 day tickets for $35 Euro. They have many stops and it includes all the most popular attractions. One problem we had was the traffic in some areas really slowed us down getting to some of the more popular sites. However, we had no problem re-boarding at any of the stops. Try to sit up front if possible as some of the buses have yellow bar that runs the length of the bus and will interfere with your line of sight. read more

I had four hours to tour Barcelona and this bus offered me every spot to see. The hop on hop off was excellent(June 2019) The orange line and green line were included in one price, so each line was a 2 hour loop. They even have a stop at the Barcelona Estación de Sants! So off the train into the bus(behind the station) and off I went. Working earbuds and maps, it was one of the best. I did see it got really busy afternoon, but the buses came every 7-15 minutes. The Park Guell is a hike up from the bus stop, but all else is easy breasy. Watch for low hanging tree branches when you are on top of the double decker. read more

Shocking poor service. Bought 120 euros worth of tickets for my family. Buses are packed which is fine I suppose. We wanted to get off at the Picasso Museum (stop 2 or 3). I noticed on the map that the bus was going the opposite direction. My wife asked the guide why this was and she replied we "were going directly to stop 5 or 6". We asked if they could stop for us to get off to which she replied "we are not a taxi service". I asked why there was no announcement that we were skipping a handful of stop to which came a shocking reply "I'm doing that now, don't be stupid". The whole bus gasped. Others started to protest and wanted to get off too. I had my 6 year old with me who heard everything. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. This is the "guide" that called me "stupid" read more

A group of my friends and I wanted to site see in Barcelona and needed an easy way to get around the city: Barcelona City Tour was the perfect fit! We chose this company over Barcelona Bus Turistic simply due to the fact that the individuals at Information Desk in the plaza told us that Barcelona City Tour had more buses, so the wait time to hop on was much shorter. They were right! I know other Yelpers below said they waited 15-20 minutes to be picked up, but I believe we waited 5 minutes [10 at most, as it got later in the day] to be picked up. Barcelona City Tour made stops at all of the places we wanted to see. The workers were friendly, approachable and extremely helpful. One day, two routes and 28 euro later, I was able to visit Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Arc de Triomf, Camp Nou**, Anella Olimpica, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and many more! TIP: To save yourself a few euro, buy your tickets online! (barcelona.city-tour.com) **DO THE CAMP NOU EXPERIENCE TOUR. BCT offers a discount and you can also get a student discount if you show ID.
