From my very first visit, I was hooked on Barcelona Wine Bar. Every visit since has reinforced that feeling. Sure, there has been the occasional hiccup here and there, but that's simply the reality of the service industry. What matters is that the overall experience has been consistently excellent, and over time I've come to know and appreciate many members of your team. My most recent visit, however, reminded me exactly why I keep coming back and fully reaffirmed my ongoing state of Barcelona Bliss. I recently made reservations for myself and a friend to celebrate his birthday. Wanting to guarantee a great evening, there was really only one choice: Barcelona. As an added bonus, I had attended UNCORKED and was fortunate enough to win an extra prize along with my free tapas button: a $100 credit toward a bottle of wine. From the moment we walked through the door, the evening was off to a great start. We were greeted by Elliot, my favorite person at Barcelona. I've always found him to be welcoming, attentive, personable, and genuinely funny. In fact, he was one of the original reasons we became regulars. When he first served us, he combined exceptional service with an engaging personality that made every visit feel special. As always, he was on top of everything and even made a point of wishing my friend a happy birthday. I could spend pages describing the food, service, and atmosphere, but I'll spare you my rambling. Suffice it to say, the evening was exceptional. Every member of the team seemed committed to making sure we had a memorable experience. Whether it was the thoughtful suggestion to combine our table with another when our growing collection of tapas and wine began to outgrow the available real estate, the delightful sommelier, a funny and attentive blonde woman whose name I unfortunately can't remember, who guided us to the perfect bottle, or our server, who never missed a beat and seemed to anticipate every need before we could ask, every member of the team contributed to making the evening truly special. The 2024 Gessamí was an inspired recommendation and undoubtedly one of the highlights of the night. Fragrant and beautifully balanced, with notes of jasmine, citrus, and ripe stone fruit, it was vibrant, refreshing, and paired wonderfully with our seemingly endless parade of tapas. The entire experience was lovely, fun, memorable, and genuinely impressive. While I unfortunately can't remember the names of either the sommelier or our server, that is in no way a reflection of their service. If anything, it simply highlights the shortcomings of my memory. Their attentiveness, professionalism, warmth, and contributions to the evening certainly did not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. This visit reminded me exactly why Barcelona has become such a favorite destination. Time and again, you deliver the perfect combination of outstanding food, exceptional wine, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that somehow feels both exciting and comfortable at the same time. While Barcelona Wine Bar is certainly a great name, in my mind it will always be known as my Barcelona Bliss. read more

I came here one evening with a few friends and it came highly recommended. None of us were super hungry, which made tapas a perfect choice. We sat outside, and I actually never even saw the inside of the restaurant, but outside is great if you like people watching and the weather is nice. We had a lot of questions, and our server was super helpful and patient, and even went so far as to mark all the vegan options on the menu for me so that I knew exactly what I could order. The food came and it was fine. Nothing to complain about, but nothing overly remarkable on my end. I definitely think this is an atmosphere-based place. By that I mean the food was fine but it's not something I would crave normally -- or if I did, I could go to the grocery store and make myself a little charcuterie board. But it's a really nice spot if you want to hang out with friends and enjoy some drinks and snacks while catching up. It also would be a good spot for date night. read more

fun spot for drinks & tapas! i don't usually like chains, but i can appreciate barcelona wine bar for its good vibes! if it was closer, i could definitely see myself here more with the girls in the summer. i came here with some friends before a noah kahan show due to its proximity to the BSL, and it was a good time! my favorite dish we had was the patatas bravas -- they were so good that i put in a second order. i can appreciate a good charcuterie board, but the other tapas we had weren't very memorable. i wanted to try the paella here, but ended up passing since our waiter told us that they take a while to prepare. in retrospect, i'm glad i didn't order the paella, the table next to us got one and it did not look very impressive. i wouldn't say the food here is particularly memorable (other than the patatas bravas lol), but i think you come for the vibes. my friend said that service is notably good as well, though it was a bit slow when we were there. we probably wouldn't have minded the slow service if we didn't have a concert to catch. overall, a solid spot! read more

I moved from Florida about two months ago, and Barcelona is by far the best tapas bar I've been to so far! The food was excellent, but the service really stood out. The entire staff is so in sync--from the servers and runners to the chefs and managers. They know what you ordered, check in on you, and communicate if there's even a slight delay. And the flan? A1! The aioli was good to dip the bread in as well Rainbow trout (Basil Purée, Aleppo Pepper) $14 - favorite! The basil puree was light but flavorful. The trout was soft, easy to cut, could eat a whole thing myself Chicken thigh (Aji Verde) $10.5 - a little difficult to cut but not bad. Wouldn't mind ordering again but would likely try something else since there's so many options Moruno lamb loin (Asparagus Purée) $14.5 - least favorite. Difficult to cut. A little oily Spiced beef empanadas (Red Pepper Sauce) $8.5 - a little spice, soft, not greasy. Red pepper sauce was the best part of this. Would get again Albondigas (Spiced Meatballs in Jamón-Tomato Sauce) $9.5 - soft, sauce good to dip in the bread One of the managers stopped by our table to check how everything was. There were a lot of options in this pleasant surprise of a neighborhood, but I had my sights set on Barcelona a day or two before based on the menu - it looked edgy and tapas felt like the play on a day that was going to involve a lot of eating. I came into town for a brief cameo to go to the Phillies/Mets game with my cousin chums, a game that will go down as one of the most unpleasant in-person experiences of my life, but that was to Barcelona's benefit; what the Mets lacked in competitiveness and quality starting pitching, Barcelona made up for with unique and tasty offerings. We stopped by this past Saturday afternoon around 2:30pmish. The movie marquee on the exterior is a very cool touch and definitely something you notice from a block out. It was a little chaotic when we first walked in (seemed like a birthday party or baby shower had just ended) so it took a few minutes to get someone's attention, but not a big deal. We got a chance to soak in the interior, which was pretty modern/pleasant; heavy emphasis on wood, both in terms of the tables and walls and cool, dim lighting. Given the sunny weather, we opted to sit outside and quickly requested a change to the shaded table after changing two or three skin tones in five minutes. All good. Everyone was emotionally drawn to the charcuterie (which would have been impossible to overlook anyway since it took up a significant chunk of the menu), and we went with the Aperitivo Board pretty much because one of my cousin chums has an unhealthy obsession with olives. Good overall though it didn't have the edgy variety of the top-tier boards I've had (which for my money usually include sweeter options like fruit compote and my all-time fave charcuterie accompaniment, honeycomb), but it did the job. The real highlight of the board for me and possibly everyone though was the patatas bravas, which was basically seasoned potatoes covered in garlic aioli. Delicious, even though it seemed a little naughty to have it on a charcuterie board. We also ordered two additional tapas, the albondigas and the jamon & manchego croquetas (I think), which translated roughly to meatballs and a bowl of French fries topped with an egg and some ham. In hindsight I don't know why we doubled down on the potatoes but it is what it is. The meatballs were very tender/juicy, but I don't think I sampled too much of the croquetas beyond grabbing a random French fry or two, so the combo of that dish was probably lost on me. Everything hit the spot though - no issues. I also got some chilled red wine, which I selected because red seemed like the move and it was very toasty outside. Not a particularly sophisticated thought process there, but didn't need to be. The service was fine; we weren't in a rush and basically had a leisurely pace throughout the meal that our waitress matched. It was pretty busy in our area as well, so if we were waiting a few extra minutes here or there, that made sense to me. A few of the Boomer male customers shot me passive aggressive looks at my Mets jersey, but I'm not going to blame the wine bar for some of their Cro-Magnon clientele; as long as your staff isn't making tongue-in-cheek comments about Chase Utley and Ruben Tejada, we're good. Very cool spot, and would have zero issue coming back to explore more of this lengthy menu, inside or outside. read more

Oh man! Where do I start, this is a place that you need to visit. We were seated very quickly on a busy Friday evening and our waiter suggested multiple options, we settled on the Gambas Al Ajillo. The shrimp were tender and prepared phenomenally. And the oil that they were prepared in made this dish one to remember. Pro tip, use the bread to dip in the shrimp oil, thank me later. While I could go on and on about the shrimp and how I wish our table orders more than 2, the star of the night was the whole roasted branzino. It met expectations, it exceeded expectations, it did not disappoint. My only regret is that we didn't order a 2nd. Skin was crisp, the meat was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My night with my friends did not start well. No wait staff stopped by to greet us for quite a while. If it was just me, I would have walked out because no one was paying attention to our table. We had to alert a passing waitress that nobody had stopped by. The water tasted weird like sparkling water but without the carbonation. Our waitress changed the water and it was better. Tapas came out fast. All of them are delicious and on point: eggplant caponata, mushrooms , beets, patata bravas, bouqerones, salmon, pulpo, pork belly, albondigas, brussel sprouts, calamari, chicken (we wanted lamb chops but sold out). My favorites are the eggplant, patata bravas, and the octopus. The octopus is tender served with garbanzo beans with some tasty sauce. Patata bravas has the traditional sauce that is smoky and addictive. Eggplant caponata is perfect to be enjoyed with the crusty bread. Basque cheesecake is pretty good, not too sweet. Monday is a good day to come here because you can get a bottle of wine for half of the price read more

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner and it was surprisingly busy despite the snow. The place is very aesthetic. Definitely gives fancy girls' night energy with candlelit tables and wine glasses everywhere. I can also see it being a great date-night spot. Service was wonderful and very attentive. They packed our leftovers in those nice oven-safe takeout containers, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't really land for me. The wine itself was great, but the dishes were hit or miss. We ordered the Brussels sprout salad and a marinated fish tapa. I expect some acidity with tapas, but this was much too sour. It was overwhelming and I couldn't finish it. The salmon, on the other hand, was very well cooked and tasted good. We also ordered a paella. The flavor was nice overall, but the pork pieces were almost entirely fat with very little actual meat, which was disappointing. The rest of the dish was solid, but between the intense acidity from the tapas and the richness of the pork fat, my stomach really did not agree with the combo. Same thing happened to my friend, even though we were both still hungry. I really wanted to like this place. Maybe we would've had a better experience ordering different dishes, but this time around we left with stomach aches instead. Atmosphere: Barcelona Wine Bar is one of my favorite spots for dinner. I've been a few times, and it never disappoints. Since the weather was perfect, we sat out on the patio. If you want to catch the sunset, I recommend trying the outdoor seating. Food: We ordered a handful of tapas to share, and everything together was surprisingly filling. The Eggplant Caponata was super flavorful, the Chicken Thigh was tender and nicely seasoned, and the Shrimp was delicious. We also got a cheese board and became obsessed with one of the semi-soft cheeses. I can't recall the name of it, but I would recommend a soft cheese board. Service: The service was great! I came here with a group of 8 for a work dinner. We were greeted by the GM even before we stepped foot in the front door and he let us know that Mike would be our server. Mike was great. He rolled with the punches of a rowdy group and kept spirits high. The energy was good and the restaurant was on the louder side so I would say it's a lovely scene. It happened to be half priced bottles since we came on Monday and we took advantage of that deal. Our table also order a large amount of tapas that we shared. A few standouts for me: Roasted carrots: simple and delicious Pork belly: I enjoyed their preparation on this. It came with a pimento of some sort on top and different than I've had before. Meat sampler platter: the chicken thighs were charred a bit but not too much and very juicy. I really enjoyed this place and think the location is great too. Ended up here by accident because I was window shopping with my 3 year old and he suddenly shouted "I need to potty"...most establishments do not have restrooms available to the public so I figured our best bet was a restaurant and popped in here. The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The complimentary bread was also a 10/10 super soft and fluffy, paired perfectly with every tapa ordered. For a group of 4 girls, we ordered 8 tapas and 1 entree. We were stuffed! We ordered the paella salvaje and as soon as it came to the table the manager introduced himself and noticed it was the wrong one before we did. I wish there were more tapas places in the area, but from those we have to pick from Barcelona is the best. Service is incredibly attentive, more important at a tapas place than most restaurants because they don't just bring you one entree and leave. My husband and I usually split six or seven small plates between us, and the difficulty is in narrowing it down: there's are simply too many great choices to decide! Definitely try the chorizo picante and the jamon serrano. They offer a deep selection of Spanish gins, which I don't know a lot about but I've enjoyed every one I've tried. This place was awesome for a big group dinner! Went here with a group of 10 friends and opted in for the tasting menu, which they immediately recommended for any big group. The tasting menu had three tiers you could choose from- $35, $45, and $55/person. We chose the $55/person option which included the full menu of tapas as well as dessert. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! My first time coming here was for a small wedding reception and I fell in love with their white sangria. I'm not much of a wine lover but I would drink the sangria out of the pitcher if I could. I love their tapas and it's definitely a family style restaurant (which I love!). I recommended ordering a few tapas to share especially the squid, potatoes, and rice balls. I had the MOST delightful first time at Barcelona Wine Bar. Snagged a reservation for the patio on a lovely spring night - the vibes are awesome. Our server was so sweet and marked up a menu for me and my friend who is gluten free. We could not even pick a drink because they all sounded so good but we landed on red sangria which did not disappoint - probably we should have got the pitcher. We ordered the manchego cheese, brussel sprouts, olives, salmon, and potatoes. It was the best little tapas feast I could ever imagine. I also got the bread bucket for me, which was heavenly. This was my first dining experience at Barcelona Wine bar! I arrived with my husband and daughter first before the rest of the party arrived. The staff was very nice and let us sit down early. They brought over a high chair and some coloring pages/crayon for my daughter. The rest of our party arrived and we started ordering an assortment of tapas, a seafood paella and a meat board. The FOOD! Absolutely amazing and fresh. The best of the best: The spicy beef empanada! Great flavor from the beef with flakiness of the empanada so delicious, The octopus was tender and juicy, the seafood paella was the absolute star of the show and the meat board we had was spot on (seasoned well!). Have been going here for years. Portion sizes have been reduced. Happy hour much smaller portions (changed to small bowls with much smaller portions with tiered pricing), regular menu portion sizes smaller as well. Was there in February and portion sizes were fine for both happy and regular hours after. Manager has changed perhaps that is why portions are much smaller? The value is no longer there. A piece of cod (cost them to make perhaps 2/3 dollars) - 16.50 USD was literally 2 inches square and half inch thick - maybe 2 ounces a few sprigs of watercress and swimming in vinaigrette - certainly overpriced and two sprigs is not a watercress salad. Drinks still good. Service is always attentive and fast. No longer my go to place. Much better places for small plates in the city with similar pricing and better portion size. read more

Potatoes were cooked perfectly!! The tomato sauce on the bottom was delicious, but I've had Patatas Bravas before and I don't remember the dressing on top ever having such a strong mayo taste. Was kind of disappointed by it. Their wine and service is always great though! Ambience is very chill, relaxed, but very classy. read more

Soleil was absolutely fantastic. I wanted an item that is not available because it's seasonal. Since I am plant based (occasional seafood) I ordered the grilled asparagus and grilled spring onion which was good. Oh, if you want Paella order upon arrival. Have patience and be prepared to be wowed. I have had the seafood Paella and ordered the Vegetable Paella this time. I then ordered the House Marinated Olives; Spinach & Chickpea Cazuela. I like Kalamata Olives, but THESE OLIVES ARE DELICIOUS. I actually want olives with the pits now. My white sangria was so refreshing. I ordered a shot of the rum that's in the sangria on the side. I met wonderful dogs and little ones sitting outside. Such a lovely atmosphere with diverse friendly customers. Zola looked out as well. Always a great experience. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place. I've had this spot on my list for a while now. It kept getting recommended to me, and I'm so happy I pulled the trigger to come here for date night. The service here is right on. I made a reservation, and I got seated immediately after checking in with the hostess. The waiters/waitresses are kind, attentive, and accommodating. Our waiter helped us decide on some menu items, and he didn't steer us wrong at all, lol. All of his recommendations slapped. Speaking of which, the food was PHENOMINAL. We ordered 4 tapas (small plates) and 1 large plate. We got the paella mariscos, steak paillard, chicken thigh, patatas bravas, and grilled asparagus. ALL OF IT WAS BUSSIN!! My advice is if you're going to order a large dish? Do it early cause they take 30 mins to come out. The small dishes (tapas) come out really quickly.
