I've been coming to the Barclays center since it and opened and just now finally reviewing it. I've been here for circus, shows and basketball games alike. Each time the staff has been friendly and the check in/ security process smooth. I did not come during the vaccination mandate era so I can't offer an opinion on that now however that mandate has been dropped as well as wearing masks inside the arena. Please note that security is TIGHT and you have to throw out open containers. The venue is clean food is expensive and it's accessible to public and private transportation. Parking I scarce as it's downtown brooklyn be mindful of that. read more

The Barclays Center is great but unfortunately they partner with STUBHUB. STUBHUB IS THE WORST Here is one crooked scheme used. Stubhub lists tickets for sale, usually at a better than expected price. Customer purchases the tickets . Then the wrong tickets ( another date ) are electronically sent to the customer. All the customer see's is the Brooklyn Nets thinking they have the right tickets. You go to The Barclays Center on a Tuesday but have Thursday tickets in your hand. CHECK THE DATE - Stub Hub will offer you a refund and someone from Pakistan, Vietnam or Thailand will say, " WE SO SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE - WE WILL ISSUE YOU REFUND...OK " NO it is not OK . I have never been inside the Barclay Center but have always wanted to at least visit it while in NYC. I was out sight seeing and finally received my chance to see it. Although it was closed when I had the chance to see it ... it was still pretty cool to me. read more

Whom ever mapped out this venue decided that to make watching anything from those areas feel like you are skydiving. It's just so dangerous, especially in the dark. Many peoples experience varies when going to arenas, but I've came to Barclays for the first timE today and had a GREAT time! The wait wasn't long outside and the nice employee took a lot of us to the side entrance so that it wasn't go crowded. He was cracking jokes while providing everyone with directions on what to do upon entering. Security was quick and the other employees helped us get to our seats easily. I didn't just go to any concert, I went to Oprah Winfrey's wellness tour (feat. Michelle Obama). The hallways were covered with wellness/self care centers such as masssage and hair stations, and all of the employees were very helpful. I know they were Oprah's tour employees, but every Barclays employee I came across helped us enjoy our day to the fullest. Lastly, Barclays is pretty small (reminds me of the prudential center) so all of the seats in the house are good seats to me and that is very important. Will definitely come here for another concert. I would give this 5 stars because I like the overall arena. The ONLY thing that I do not like is that it is cashless. I came in with cash in hand and I was able to put it on a card and get a prepaid card printed to use, HOWEVER, I wanted to use my debit card to withdraw more cash to put on another card but there were no ATMs available. They could have made more money at the Nets team store if there were ATMs available but that wasn't the case. Overall the arena is great if you are popping in to a Nets game but that's the only complaint I have. read more

Parking was not amazing. The food in the area was limited. I paid 24.00 for a vodka tonic served with an attitude and no straw. Overall I don't care for you steep stairs and I feel like the tickets I got don't reflect the price I paid. Part of it was poor disclosure during the ticket purchase process. You sell Starbucks outside your front door and I can't bring my coffee in...they are literally your tenant. Not impressed. I thought this would be easier than Madison square but not again!!! read more

The Barclays Center has to be my favorite entertainment venue thus far. I came here on several locations including Brooklyn Nets basketball games, Cirque du Soleil OVO, and G Dragon concert (fan girl scream!). I have been happy with my experiences from my seats. I have sat as far up in row 200 and as close as row 9. The entire venue was built well, I can still see very clearly from the upper levels. Directional signs are easy to read and follow. There is wifi service which is okay. Food services is your typical Nathan's with some Brooklyn specials such as Junior's Cheesecake and Blue Marble Ice Cream. Although, I will be first to say, I am not the biggest fan of their exterior... lol but as a native Brooklynite, I am truly happy to have Barclays! read more

Great arena that is modern. Visited for a boxing match and the process from purchasing tickets at box office to entry was seamless. The ushers knew exactly the seating chart and three variations of food concessions was endless. The facility was clean even the bathroom. read more

I was recently here for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III and while that event was amazing, I have to say the aisles were not. I had no problem with the concession prices because it's an entertainment venue not unlike when you go to a theater and that's the a good chunk of their money intake for the night. The price for my seats was right and I have no problem sitting up in the "nosebleed" section as I prefer to blend in and not worry about being seen on camera. But, wow, do those aisles suck. If I have to walk like I'm on a tightrope while passing by other people in my row because I know one false move and I'll go tumbling down all the way to the floor then, no, you guys were cheap and should have given us more safe walking room to get to the middle seats. I've gone to a few sporting arenas over the years and while I may have felt like I'd fall, it was really just my heights getting to me. But in this arena, yeah, it wasn't my fear of heights. It was because my thoughts were true. I'll return again next year for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 but it will be in lower seats because that was just not fun trying to navigate around people with food and beverages knowing one false move and you were toast. read more

The service is terrible and the the seat guide was so grumpy that she looked like she was owed a million dollars. We accidentally sat one row forward because our seat number was deducted, and she rushed over and accused us of deliberately sitting forward. When we asked her what the correct seat was, she responded with "you asked me?" This made us feel very sad and angry. If we each spent $400 and were accused and wronged by the guide, then I hope she will do this to everyone until she is fired. read more

After coming to Barclays a few times I can honestly say it's not my favorite place to see a show. Sure the access is convenient with so many subways stopping right outside and the LIRR just down the block (Although its doesn't beat MSG for LIRR access, which is usually a train direct to Penn). As with most large venues, the usual gripes with overpriced, crappy versions food applies. I had the Fuku spicy chicken sandwich for $15 which got me a premade, sitting in the bag steaming pile of sandwich with no spice along with disgusting, slimy chicken skin and grizzle. Pass on this. The seating is very vertical so the seats in front of you are lower which helps with blocked views, but if are uncomfortable with heights might not be the best place. I also noticed that some sections have so many seats between aisles that many people were climbing over seats behind them for an easier way to get out. Seems poorly planned. Getting out from the upper level is a bit of nightmare, while I appreciate one long escalator to the top, apparently the 2 person at a time escalator is how they wanted EVERYONE on the upper level to get out with staff blocking the stairway exits. It took a good 25 min. in a tight crowd just to get out so you may want to skip the encore or last song if you have claustrophobia issues. read more

Very disappointed with the Security Staff at the Barclay Center! My friend & I went out to smoke and when we went back in our bags were physically searched...even though the women that went in before & after that just had their bags put through the x-ray machine....which is not the issue. The issue is that they found a lighter in my friend's bag...THAT SHE GOT INTO AT THE EVENT....and they wanted to take it from her. Security removed it from her bag...my friend said it's ok we are going to leave now and took the lighter back. Security proceeded to say " B***h if you touch that lighter, I will slap you" and then threatened that she would be waiting for my friend outside when she got off work. This was extremely uncalled for. Management would not give their names for us to write a complaint & she did absolutely nothing about what had happened. We missed the whole end of the event & wasted $160 tickets. I have tried to reach out to Barclay's numerous times to file a complaint but no response. Do better when hiring your security staff & with training Barclay's...it is totally unacceptable the way we were treated. They even made me wait outside in the cold when I had nothing to do with the situation while waiting for the Manager. read more

The 40/40 is not as pumped as it is in NYC, they should rename it, not to give the real place a bad look. Service isn't the best there, crowds just bump heads with staff.. totally giving it a low class vibe. The seats we had was amazing that set of staff is on a different level!! The hostess who brings drinks to your seat are nice.. the people helping to your seat is nice.. overall the food at 40/40 could be better, especially when it's unclear what your ordering.. and how the staff isn't sure of what' is offered and your left to guess and eat what's your not sure of. Labels help, but putting them out helps more! Staff need to know information on what's in the food.. such as peanuts.. and more! They are more trained to check your wrist to see if you paid for the buffet! Drinks are over price at 40/40 bar, got them cheaper delivered to my seat! It's taken me a while to write this review, but all I have to say is incredibly positive! I have never been here before but made it out here for the Ariana Grande concert last month. The venue looks impressive from the outside, and we were lucky enough to be able to get in immediately due to the Amex access line. We berlines for thé drinks, and while the $26 price tag was appalling, that didn't stop the two of us from grabbing 8 of them throughout the concert! We sat down in our seats (floor), and while it was great to be close up, as a 5' tall girl, it was quite difficult to see at some points in the concert. The venue is massive, the set of the concert was divine, and I absolutely lost it whenever Ariana was within a coin's toss away from me. As with any concert venue, the prices are steep, but the experience is so worth it! read more

We went to a Nets playoff game against the Boston team. The venue is well maintained and follows COVID-19 protocol. Before we even entered the building the outdoor signage had us excited with anticipation for an exciting evening. The game was amazing!! I was sitting there cheering and engaged and thought someone asked a woman who doesn't like sports what would they enjoy at a game because every few minutes there was new familiar music to get the crowd excited! There were breaks to show off the dance team, percussion section, and dance squad to hype up the crowd and give you a sports diversion. I had so much fun I want to go back every week!!! read more

I've been to about a dozen or so events at the Barclays Center since they opened up, the majority of those events being Brooklyn Nets games. It is quite a trip to get to the venue from New Jersey but that's not their fault. I've driven and I've also taken public transportation to get to the arena and both have their pros and cons. Driving isn't so bad if you get lucky and find street parking but if you don't, paying for a garage can get pretty expensive. Public trans isn't so bad as there's a subway station right in front of the entrance. The venue itself is very nice inside and has loads of food and drink options (overpriced of course but that's par for the course). I've sat in all different sections for Nets games and I'm convinced there's not a bad seat in the house. Even from the nosebleeds you can see the court pretty well and since the Nets are so bad the tickets can be reasonably priced. From my experience the staff is generally friendly and helpful. read more

I've only been here twice so far and this is what I have noticed. Line management is poor here compared to MSG. Many people including my party were confused on where to stand and such. I also noticed that they ONLY take card only at the food stalls. Like what the hell man? Even odder is that you would have to change your money at a card ATM of sorts and get a plastic card. Not eco friendly much? Save the ecosystem, Barclays. C'mon now. The stairs near the nosebleed seats are short and steep. I feel like one misstep and I will tumble to my death. But closer to the stage you are, the stairs are easier to walk down. Just something I noticed lol. *shrug* I like how the arm rests you can move them as well which is nice if you wanna cuddle your partner. Before event, when we were getting food at Brooklyn Tacqueria, we ordered pretzel, drink and tacos. The cashier said the pretzel won't be ready for 10 mins and that they just put them in. Um, what? The venue just let us in and you just started putting food on the warmer? So weird. Overall, I do prefer MSG over Barclays but I will say that keep the place (including the bathrooms) clean. And I would come back if there was an event here so not like it will deter me. read more

I think this may be one of my favorite venues I've been to in NYC! It's super easy to get to even though I live in Queens. The subway stop has so many lines and there's a large entrance right outside the front doors. Obviously this is very new, so there are a lot of cool aspects to the architecture that are just cool to look at. I had nothing but pleasant experiences with all the staff. They were a bit strict about light sticks but it didn't seem consistent with all the security--so if you're coming for a K-Pop concert, bring other groups' light sticks at your own risk. It's also a bit small, so your seats will be closer than what it looks like on a map! read more

Not a bad stadium. It's new, it's fun, it has great acts and fun food choices. Unlike some stadiums (such as Citifield and Met Life), guests CANNOT bring in any outside food or drink. Not even water. My Company has season tickets so it was a free night for me (thanks, work!) The beers are a steep $11 and the cheeseburgers were pretty awful. The burger and potato bun weren't bad, but the cheese was liquid and blecchhh. Next time no cheese. As with all stadiums, be aware and be careful leaving items unattended and when leaving the stadium at night. Do not drive here if at all possible. Take any public transportation you can, parking is a nightmare. read more

Been to Barclays Center several times for various events - hockey (inaugural year for Islanders) and concerts. Latest was Bruno Mars concert back in October! Very convenient to get here by train since almost all trains will stop right outside. Fairly quick to get through security checkpoints...just be ready to go thru the metal detectors and bags open for checking. Smaller venue than MSG which is actually better since you feel a little closer esp when you are sitting at the other end of the stage. Food of course isn't cheap and lines do get long so get there early. Views are pretty decent and sound quality is pretty good for concerts. Leg room is a bit tight though. Parking in the area isn't as easy and convenient. Parking garages will ramp up the prices for concerts and special event...so use mass transit if possible. Easy to get in/out of Barclays and back to the train station. Starbucks is right next door and Shake Shack across the street. read more

BECOMING by Michelle Obama 12.19.18 It was a cold Wednesday evening. As I drove past the line was around the block for obvious reasons. When I finally found parking the lines had moved but still crowded. The staff was really good about directing people to entrances that were less packed. Surprisingly security check was efficient and not traumatizing. Inside the air filled of excitement, positivity, sisterhood, strength and inspiration! Here's why the "once" a new kid on the block; an amazing venue endorsed by Jay-Z, and boosting the real estate by the Atlantic Terminal (which was a nasty unattractive run down part of Brooklyn back in the days) earned a mere 3 stars. The highs: The Shows! & the lows... EVERYTHING else. -May 2013 - The Killers: amazing show, beautiful venue, friendly & organized staff; with "food" offerings such as Fatty Cue - we had the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi - which was good but wasn't amazing. It gave me hopes their food will continue to expand and excite their crowd! IT'S NO LONGER HERE - sad. -June 2013 - Postal Service: 10th year anniversary for their 1 and only album! It was an epic show! This time - we actually ate around the area before heading to the show. Inside - we got water ($3) & popcorn ($5). The staff were nice and efficient. -July 2017 - G-Dragon: Act 3 Motte US tour - best seats and biggest splurged! Although my experience with the staff & venue this time around was terrible (from poorly trained staff, to "I don't give a shit" attitudes... ) my biggest gripe is actually with the "food"... if you could even call it that. We walked around and could not find one decent vendor... choices were basically hot dogs or chicken tenders... no longer in its glory days... management gave up on pleasing the foodies or anyone who has taste buds. Sending the message "Eat At Your Own Risk"! We decided on Carla's Food Hall: I bought a pretzel or it was supposed to be a pretzel... however my teeth will tell you otherwise... I was basically eating a f*cking brick! It was hard & stale AF! We also got spicy chicken tenders w/ Mac & cheese... I CANNOT BELIEVE she would lend her name to this garbage food stall... the chicken tenders were nasty, soggy, unnecessarily over seasoned w pepper to possibly disguised Day Old chicken. We took a major "L" on this one and returned it to its rightful home: the Trash Can. Barclays Center will need to step up their food game, they are losing major revenues during these shows where 40% of the attendees are hungry kids. TL;DR - Go for the shows/games, SKIP the garbage they call food. read more

This is my 3rd time here and I keep remembering after I go why I hate this place so much. 1. The STEEP ASS SEATS!! No seriously, if you have a fear of heights, don't sit in the 200's section (upper level). It is so incredibly high and steep that even sitting down I thought I was going to fall. I was there last night for Machel Montano. There was no way in this world I was going to sit still during that show. So I went downstairs to customer service and I wasn't the only one upset about the steepness. The ladies in front of me had the same complaints. Because it's sold out show they told us we could stand in section 217, it's a big open area. That worked out fantastic. Space to dance and move about. And the customer service rep said vertigo, dizziness and nausea are NOT a reason for your seats to be moved. 2. The sound is terrible. I get it, I'm "older" now so my hearing might be going, but I couldnt make out what the performers were singing. Thank goodness I recognized the rythm and beat. It sounded too muffled and distorted. On the plus side, there are plenty of bathrooms and food options. Oh and the Amex store where you swipe you Amex card to get in was tacky. Its a weird way to flex on people just to buy water. I have an Amex but I didn't feel the need to brag or show off. Just screams look at me. Ugh I won't be back. read more

We went here in April during Wrestlemania weekend and we saw Monday night Raw. I must say this this one of the nicest arenas I have ever been in. Possibly the best actually. Some of us were given the opportunity to attend the "Barclays Center Tasting" Event tonight and we had such a nice time! Thanks so much to Katey G. for gracing us with your presence. A special thanks to Barclays Center for welcoming us with your hospitality and filling our bellies with delicious food and beverages. We were told to come through the Calvin Klein VIP Entrance that is around the corner from Starbucks near the Barclays Center's front emtrance. After getting lost (lol) I asked a Starbucks worker and found my way to the VIP Entrance quickly. After going by security through the metal detectors and being greeted by a front desk lobby receptionist, I proceeded on the escalator to the upstairs area that houses Parm Restaurant and the old 40/40 Club. Suites are near there where people can enjoy games /concerts in style. Before you know it, I was greeted by other wonderful staff. Then I saw three things that immediately got my attention....1.) Everyone enjoying themselves in this gorgeous spacious place,. 2.) Food Glorious Food- lol and the 3.) Chic looking bar. I said my hellos and got settled. Bartender Evelyn makes some of the best cocktails that I have ever tasted at the Barclays Center! I had the Tanduay Oh My! Cocktail and the Pumpkin Special Old Fashioned Cocktail which she explained are two of the exclusive cocktails that are only made/sold in this section of the Barclays Center. The Tanduay Oh My! Cocktail consists of Tanduay Silver Rum, Mango Puree, Ginger Beer and Calamansi Juice. My favorite of the evening!...so much so that I had to get a 2nd one-lol. Sweet and refreshing! The Pumpkin Old Fashioned - Tanduay Gold Rum, Pumpkin Spice Puree and Benedictine had some.great "Kick" to it. Evelyn creates cocktails like work of art and presents them in a beautiful manner w/ flair She is friendly, polite, humorous, professional and hospitable. She was kind enough to share information about the special seats that people can purchase near Parm to enjoy watching games. A person that buy seats in that specific section can order food from Parm and have it delivered to their seat as they watch the games. How Cool Is That?!. Special thanks to Abigail and Chef Aaron. It was a pleasure meeting and interacting w/both of you Thanks to the chefs/workers for making the phenomenal food and to Evelyn, Abigail and all the rest of the hardworking staff. Tonight's "Barclays Center Tasting" Event is derived from the Brooklyn Tast Culinary Program which features food items from places/local businesses in Brooklyn as well as in other areas. When I say that there were various vendors that showcased their food here, I mean it-lol. Happy Cow, Paisano's Burgers, BK Ballers, FUKU, Nathan's, Kings Country Dogs, Hale n Hearty and WW Freestyle Cafe were all there. My favorites were the Paisano's Burger, the BK Ballers Classic Beef Meatball Hero, FUKU's Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Hale n Hearty's Clam Chowder Soup....Sorry, I just started reminiscing about how good that soup was -lol. Yes, you already know that I went back for a 2nd bowl of soup-lol. Lastly, it was cool to enjoy the high exclusive view! I have been here for various concerts (including seeing the Gorillaz/The Internet last Saturday) and sat just about everywhere but never in this section. This state-of-the-art, polarizing arena is either a sign of Brooklyn's return to glory, a visible embodiment of the borough leaping over a Great White, or proof that money is what matters in this and every other town...depending on who you talk to. Perhaps it's all three. Personally, I don't want to get involved in any of the politics. All I know is that this monstrous construction at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic is better than the hideous hole in the ground that used to be there. The blue Barclays glow is blinding and I've got mixed feelings on the faux-rust facade, but the area is ALIVE now, and I no longer have to worry that roving gangs of teenage girls will beat me up when I walk down Atlantic. Say what you'd like about the development company, but they seem to have gone to great lengths to represent local businesses within the arena. Sixpoint is available on tap [somewhere; I could only find Bud Light]. At nearly every food stand, you can grab McClure's pickles, rice krispy treats from Stinky Brooklyn, and Baked in Brooklyn everything flatbreads. The actual inhabitants of said stands are a nice mix of some of Brooklyn's best, old (Junior's, Nathan's, L&B Spumoni Gardens) and new (Red Hook Lobster Pound, Fatty 'Cue, Calexico). These are all good things. I can't yet speak to whether or not the mass-produced items can replicate the results at the original locations, but I enjoyed the one thing I ate: a white cheddar brat from Brooklyn Bangers (from the folks behind Saul and The Vanderbilt). The extra couple dollars it cost over a regular hot dog were CERTAINLY worth it. The wait to enter the arena because of the metal detectors is also worth it, because when I bit into that brat and shot an entire line of people with cheesy sausage juice, I'm sure I would've been shanked otherwise. Seriously, I sprayed juice at least four feet, much to the amusement of one girl ("That's some juicy sausage!"), and inciting fury from several others. It's a mystery how I haven't been beaten within an inch of my life by now. Yes, there are some issues with the Barclays Center. I'd like to think they are just getting the kinks out; we're still in the first month here, and just like with a new restaurant, you've got to give them some time. Some of the staff seem remarkably incompetent and obviously, there are lines. But to be fair, if you don't want to wait in line, you should go to places that don't hold 19,000 people at the same time. Or you could just spring for a suite. I was lucky enough score a spot in someone else's and as I'd always imagined, the VIP level is a magical place where there are no waits for the bar at all, and drinks cost $11 as opposed to the $13 down with the peasants below. This just doesn't seem quite fair, but I'm not going to apologize for being better than you. And since it's impossible to separate an arena like this from the show you see, I've got to say that HOVA brought the house down. 16 years of straight hits...it's not surprising he sold out every night. The sound is amazing, the lights fantastic, and as far as I'm concerned, it's an incredible place to see a show. I'm going to do it again. And thanks to the pure and simple idiocy of one James L. Dolan, I'll probably be coming back for a Nets game or two as well. read more

With key investor and Nets owner, Russian businessman Mikhail Prokhorova, I fully expected the food to be top notch with Russian specialties such as vareniki's, and to make it unique for Barclay's that could label it as "Meat filled dumplings on-a-stick". I mean, who wouldn't get that? Instead, they offer burgers, dogs, sausages, popcorn, chicken fingers to the general public. Not great. About a dozen beer choices from various vendors made this a nice experience! Another positive was the Smoked White Cheddar Brat for $8.50. Wow. The brat was great, and the bun was nearly better. Topped with deli mustard, sauerkraut, and relish -- and mmmm mmmm. Tomatoes and lettuce are also in the common area, but no onions. They are against onions here at Barclay. Minus 1/2 star for that, but plus 1.0 for believing in good breath. It's a 3.5 star rounded up. Clean, small, easy to enter, easy to navigate. Commute by subway is easy, with Atlantic avenue stop right at the foot of the arena, and lots of trains stop there (2, 3, Q, N, and more). Going to a Nets game, well sorry, but it's an inferior product, ahem, a product in the making. Islanders play here, too, and concerts could be a good call. The upper deck is very far up, I would recommend paying extra for a lower than bald eagle view. read more

The prices on things here are just effing insane! $11.50 for a freaking can of Brooklyn lager? Are they effing kidding me? Then they pour it in a plastic cup. A bottle of freaking water for almost $6? WTF??? Then they also take the cap. Really? Sure, they have decent food choices but almost everything worth it is in double figures. Oh, and please get some better beer choices. Bud and Bud Light sucks, and not everyone wants just Stella, Brooklyn, and Goose Island. Get some real beers of the world and more craft offerings like MSG does. If you're going to rip us off for a beer at least give us some better choices. Oh, and it's a damn rock concert. I've been to the Barclays Center about 4 or 5 times since it made its debut in the latter part of 2012. I've been here for a couple concerts, a basketball game, and the NBA draft of 2014. Each time my experience was loads of fun. The staff is organized and attentive especially when it comes to finding your seats or finding the bathroom. This is a very spacious arena and there are signs and staff everywhere which makes it very hard for you to get lost. The pricing for food is what you'd expect from your typical arena. Similar to MSG. The seating for events is not as good as it could be in my opinion. There is little legroom for basketball games and concerts. But it's especially annoying when you're sitting most of the time like at a basketball game. I'm a little lanky so it was an annoyance but not to the point that I couldn't enjoy myself. In terms of concert seating, if you can't get tickets in the first three lower level sections, F1 2 or 3 I believe, get seats elsewhere. The lower level is not elevated. The other F sections therefore suck, especially if you're short and someone tall sits in front of you. You'll be screwed all night. And no they won't let you stand on the seats. Believe me. I tried. Other than those two issues, this place is pretty decent. Really glad there's an arena in my hometown. I always do enjoy coming here for events. If you live in the NY area or are just visiting, its definitely worth stopping by. read more

From all outward appearances, both day and night, the nest is a looker. Once seated inside --- the flow and design of usable space continues as most all seating provides the guest with unobtrusive views with deep and crystal clear sound quality. Again, excellent viewing vantage points. Appropriately staffed in numbers and individually --- all put on a good show going the extra mile to make the customers experience one where ya just could not feel anything less than genuinely welcomed. The circumference of the inner hallway is roughly one half that of The Gardens in overall width. Seeminacking one lane of traffic coming and one lane going. More of a hodgepodge of belly to belly collisions of lumpy appearances --- causing multiple rouge veins of one-sies and two-sies streaming between the oncoming traffic like a human giant slalom atop spilled booze from those that traversed the course moments prior. My counterparts Blueberry Stoli @ fourteen a pop hit the deck a few minutes post pour. Strong 3rd period alcohol cut off policy, double OT or not after a quarter century of misery. (Lets Go Islanders in '16) The hard liquor topless tent had no Jamison, which they had the night prior at Springsteen and ran out of club soda for my Dewers by drink two. Not only did the sausage run out by the second period, but barring popcorn, chips and nachos the venue completely ran out of food. Thought I'd be the first to post but obviously I took too long. Went to a sneak peek on 9/21 for NYC business and arts professionals (hours after the ribbon-cutting) that went a long way toward proving how cool this arena is, which it is. After a tasty vittles in the beautiful Calvin Klein Lounge (the whole place is corporate-heavy), my compatriots and I took ourselves to the beautiful basketball court area. Though we weren't allowed on the official 'floor' we were right off of it (behind the hoops) and its pretty fantastic to look at. While some people ended it there, we availed ourselves of the open non-guided tour to check out the suites (hey, we want to eventually have one too!), the view from above, the restaurant areas, etc. Totally forgot there was supposed to be a version o the 40/40 Club there and while it wasn't finished we did walk slightly in (thanks cool security guys!!!) and from that section you can see the basketball court, which is fantastic. That blew me away actually. 40/40 also faces Flatbush Ave, so you can technically see it from outside. As we perused the rest of the arena we saw unopened concession stands with such names as Bed-Stuy Grill, Williamsburg Grill and ones with other mostly north Brooklyn named names. Guess people in Mill Basin won't be going to the arena? Additionally, the cheap seats didn't look that high from the floor. When you get higher up, whoa, they're practically useless. Guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Afterwards, we next ran into a cool sunken red lounge area (wish I could remember the name) right down from a wine lounge which will be a VIP section. Yo, this faces the other end of the court providing a mid-angle long view of the court. Yeah, we stayed there for awhile all knowing that we have to come back there real soon. Real soon. Like many others, especially those that do business in Ft. Greene, I was skeptical about the arena coming to Downtown Brooklyn, and while the real effects (in either respect) won't be known until the following weeks and months it is admittidly impressive that it's here and will service Brooklyn. Like Denis Hamil said in an article I didn't fully agree with, at least our kids will grow up knowing there's a hometown place like this they can go to to see the kinds of shows we normally have to leave our home borough to go to. If for no other reasons, the Center could do us well. That said, I am not looking forward to the car and foot traffic. Big sigh. Funny enough, the outside sign seems to be muted now. The blue in weeks past was extra bright, like eerily blue but in a mystical way. Bring that back Barclays! read more

My first time at Barclays was a memorable one. I was mesmerized by the arenas architectural design. It's a huge arena located on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. The Barclays Center MTA subway station houses the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains. The LIRR also runs here. Barclays is currently home to the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association and the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. Barclays also hosts concerts, conventions and other sporting and entertainment events. My friend purchased tickets for Jay z's 'Live In Brooklyn' concert. It was amazing. Jay brought out his wife, Beyoncé as a surprise guest. The crowd sang and rapped along as lighters and weed filled the air. The weed induced contact I received was a bonus that wasn't asked for. However, I throughly enjoyed myself. What I didn't enjoy was the skyrocket prices for any and everything. Sure, there's great food selections but for the price it's pretty alarming. I'm sure you already paid an arm and a leg for tickets to attend an event here. Eat outside of the arena and make sure you pregame as well. read more

If I were a 10 year old boy... I would have had a blast. Since I am not, I couldn't help but notice the flaws of the venue. For vehicular traffic, the location is not ideal by any means. It's an island surrounded by a conglomeration of wide, busy streets. Thank God for the traffic cops. The rust covered exterior leaves a lot to be desired aesthetically. It vies for ugliness with Madison Square Garden. I guess the bar in NYC has been set too low architecturally in recent years because we just keep producing some butt ugly buildings. I came because I got a free last minute ticket to see the Harlem Globetrotters. My seat wasn't centrally located up in Section 111. It's too far from the food to make getting up to get anything tempting. And unlike the Garden, no one is coming around hawking $5 boxes of Cracker Jacks. I planned on going to Dinosaur BBQ after the "game" anyway, so my pocketbook thanked me. The seating is cramped. So if you have the misfortune of sitting next to Twist & Fidget ( https://t.co/vF0YiSnB71 ), you will be elbowed in the side repeatedly. She will be completely aware of this, but will continue to do it and apologize every time she goes into her oversized bag for that sandwich she snuck in. The oversized bag that the announcement outside said you couldn't bring into the arena along with backpacks and professional recording equipment. As you get more and more fed up, you will start looking for a seat you can move into. Feel free to do so. Since they are so lax with the baggage at security, I don't think they care much if you move around your own section. Especially when you tell them that you got tired of having Twist & Fidget brush out her weave over you. I'm sure they would completely understand. Since it's not a large venue, exiting is a breeze. Even the lines in the restroom aren't bad during the rush. Personally, I would never drive to Barclays. Especially not when public transportation is so plentiful. There's a massive hub including the LIRR. Fighting you way over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridges just seems silly. The BQE... insane. There are no good eats in the immediate area, but if you walk a bit or take the bus, you can get to some of the best places in Fort Green or Park Slope. I opted for Gowanus, which meant I took a quick bus ride and walked a bit on ice covered sidewalks. It would have been more pleasant in the Spring I'm sure. Unless I get some more free tickets, I really don't see myself returning, unless one of my favorite bands forces me to. Barclay's is amazing! Ok, so it depends on your seats and the performer. We went to see Kygo and Mo and their show was stellar! Thanks to AE, we got tickets in 115 section. So we sat facing the performers, the sound was perfect and we were close enough to the floor seats that we got to touch the beach balls. If you have heard Major Lazer and Mo's Lean On, you know what Mo sounds like. Her voice was even better live. Her pitch was on point and her songs sounded soulful. She definitely performed with 110%. The opening act, Conrad Sewell was a little lacking in confidence and he had a hard time rallying the room. (Unfortunately for him, the concert hall was only 1/3 full). But Kygo was a perfect performer. Humble, dressed in a white T-shirt, he played all his songs with precision and passion. He had guest singers for most of his songs. He played all our favorites (eg. here for you) and then he ended with Firestone and stole the show. Amazing amazing time. I danced all night, enjoyed the music and introduced my hubby to a new genre! read more

Most of the staff is completely oblivious to their surroundings. It gets a little rowdy in there with alcohol and event hype and there is zero crowd guidance /control. Bathrooms are usually well kept. Bar tenders are cool. Please Barclay's, educate your staff to be conscious of the crowd within the venue. There seems to be multiple entrances now around the building and the staff on the sidewalk are lackadaisical in their direction and cueing to patrons. They move barricades randomly without awareness to be in their favor. I walked to front entrance only for them to tell me to go all the way to the back of the building when I was right at the front door. Ugh wasteful energy Get it together people!! read more
