Two of my co workers wanted to get their chins done, one friend wanted to get her brazilian done and I wanted my forearms arms done. After doing a bunch of collective research, we came up with A2Z laser/Laser and Organic Spa. It seemed like a good, decent place, and had seemingly great reviews. We all called for our appointments. Because we have different schedules, we were unable to go together to our appointments together - which was something we had wanted to do, but you really can't help scheduling differences. I have some experience with getting lasered (good bye hairy legs!), Angela was super nice and sweet explaining the process. She was using a different machine than I had used on my legs - the Soprano. Instead of the laser, which blows cool air and actually zaps the little hairs, this was more of a rolling laser, and used a cooling gel... kind of felt like I was going for a sonogram, but on my arms. Now you're probably wondering why the low rating despite the fact that Angela was super nice, the location was nice and clean, and Angela was very well organized. The machine. It didn't work. I went for my six appointments, and throughout the six appointments, there was no zapping (which feels a little satisfying, die little hairs, die!), there was no pinch, nothing. Mostly just pressure and occasionally it got really hot. Once. Once did I feel the pinch. Angela and her technician both said the machine was turned all the way up to the highest setting. Even Angela was surprised it didn't work on my arms. I know what you're thinking, maybe my hair is too light. Maybe my skin too light. However, this machine is supposed to work on all skin and hair types. Which is what the sign in her waiting room advertises. Which brings me back to my friends/co -workers. All three of them are naturally brunettes. Dark brunettes. The one who got her brazilian done, while I haven't personally looked for myself, her swears there's more hair. My two co-workers who got their chins done? I have looked for myself, it's pretty much the same as when they started. They are disappointed, because instead of plucking, they now have to shave, and are both very self conscience about it. Understandably so. My arms look pretty much the same as when I started. My conclusion is this, the Soprano machine advertises itself as a almost painless machine. While I will agree that it was virtually painless, I feel like we traded the painless method for a machine that was sub par and did not do it's job. I'd rather stick to alexandrite lasers from now on. While you do feel the laser and it occasionally smells like burnt hair (okay, it really smells like burnt hair) at the end of the day, those little hairs are like a dead parrot, gone from this world.

But I am TIRED of waxing so I did some research and found Ecous Laser. I was scared but the technician Eka was so sweet and reassured me that it would be relatively painless and wouldn't burn. An absolute JOKE, the most absurd "medical office" I have ever had to deal with!! Having dealt with neck eczema since childhood, I decided to make an appointment there to get a prescription for a cream that had worked well in the past (unfortunately none of behind the counter cream work for me) . The visit took less than 5 minutes, I didn't expect anything more as I was essentially there to get a new prescription for a cream I was familiar with. I got my prescription, paid for the visit out of pocket and was on my way to the local pharmacy. This is where it gets interesting, 8 months later, being out of town (without cream) and having lots of eczema in the neck area causing major discomfort, I called the dermatologist office asking if they can could maybe call in a prescription to a local pharmacy. After being on hold for almost 30 minutes, The person who finally got on the phone asked eme when was the last time I had seen the doctor to which I responded last year. She then proceeded to tell me that if it had been over a year, that I would need to come see the doctor to get a new prescription. She pulled up my file which showed that I had been there 8 months ago and claimed that I would need to see the doctor anyways because it had been too long since my last visit. The woman just got done telling me that a doctor visit would be needed if it had been over the year, but when she realized that it was only 8 months decided to make up a story about the fact that she didn't mean a year, but a few months. For a physician to completely change their so called "policy" within the span of 30 seconds, utterly lying to a patient just to get a paid visit out of it is totally disgraceful, immoral, and unacceptable. The most absurd medical experience! There are LOTS of fantastic physicians in Manhattan, stay away from this place!!!!! Following this review, Dr Avshalumova found nothing better to do than creating google pseudonyms to review a business venture I'm involved in. It goes to show you how unprofessional and disturbed this physician is.

When I found Esthetique and got there my first few treatments (bikini, underarms and legs) I felt in love with that place and the master Janna. She was so knowledgeable when it came to scheduling the timing between hair removal sessions which is very important, also she explained to me how the laser works along with answering a bunch of my other questions. I started seen the results pretty much right the way. Hair growth slowed down and I shaved much less. However, when I called the place, I was told that the masseuse was no longer working there so they don't offer massages anymore. I was quite disappointed because that was what I was most looking forward to. They mentioned I would be able to receive a body scrub instead, which I decided to get. The space is simply decorated with a calm ambiance, and an inviting atmosphere. The lady who did all these services was very friendly and kind. We started off with the body scrub in a lowly lit room, which was soo relaxing and slightly resembled a massage done in a shorter time frame. The scrub felt super exfoliating and my skin was velvety soft afterwards. Next was the facial, which included all of the components, such as extraction, moisturizing, mask, and more. After that, it was time for the pedicure, and the lady prepared green tea and a plate of cookies, gummy candy, and crackers. They were pretty tasty, especially the satisfyingly chewy and sweet gummies, which were from Europe. I selected a deep red color for my toes. It felt nice to put my feet in the warm water and my toes looked great! For the manicure, I picked a shimmery hot pink from the OPI collection. The lady put a lot of care and time into painting my nails, and it really showed. I loved how my nails looked so shiny and smooth when done. I stayed and put my nails under a drying device, but this took awhile. I still needed to be careful upon leaving and I noticed that the nail polish chipped a lot after only a few days. Overall, I enjoyed my day of beauty and felt pampered. I just wish they still had massage, because I'm long overdue!
