I did my eyebrow in July and was actually thinking of doing eyeliner at the same time. but Elsa suggest me not too because my eyelid are not suitable for eyeliner. I listened--and I am glad she has been honest! A friend of mine ( same eyelid as my) did her eyeliner somewhere else in the city--and I can hardly see the difference! I was panic when I first did it--it looks terrible!( to me at that time-because It was my first time and I didn't know it was very normal before the natural, nice eyebrow!) I kept texting her that my concern, She always texts back quickly and explains, which made me feel so much better. After about 10 days....I start to LOVE my eye brow!!! Do you know what it feels like to not have eyebrows? To draw them on every morning only to have them patchy and misshapen by mid-afternoon, reminding you of the inadequacy of your hair follicles (and eye-brow drawing skills)? That was my experience for all my life until Elsa micro-bladed my eyebrows over the summer. Turns out, eyebrows was the missing piece in my leading a fulfilling life, and since having them, my confidence has and happiness levels have skyrocketed! It's so incredible to wake up to eyebrows that are so existent and neat every morning as a reminder that yes, you truly can have it all. But for real, micro-blading changed my life and I highly highly recommend it. She was also so gentle, and by the time the anesthetic started wearing off, she was already done! The week right after first getting your eyebrows micro-bladed might be a bit jarring, because your eyebrows do look much darker, and there is a bit of peeling. I have typical asian eyebrows whereas the brow head and end tip is lacking hairs. I've looked up some places in the states however their before and afters just doesn't attract me AT ALL. I came here at the recommendation of my close friends and after seeing their results was I utterly impressed. The strokes drawn on were so real and I now look as if I was born with it! Overall very pleased with the results of my microbladed eyebrows and service at Bare Beauty. I had to go back two times to touch up the empty spaces but I think my skin type made it harder to hold the color. I was most pleased with the service. Elsa is very welcoming, kind, and friendly. She allowed me to come back for a second touch up due to the space. The process itself was weird because it feels like someone is scraping your skin with a blade but not very painful. I even fell asleep during the touch up. Don't really have any other place to compare it to because this was my first time but I can only assume that Elsa makes the experience much more personable than some of the other pretentious tattoo artists/makeup artists in the city. read more

I'm so glad that I made a appointment to meet with Elsa. Consultation is free and she automatically greets you with a friendly smile. She is the proprietor of Bare Beauty Workshop and all services are done by her. The place is bright and she keeps it very pristine, she uses gloves, provides new blades, cap for the hair...etc. I was a bit nervous since I've never done micro-blading/feather-stroke and lash-liner, but she made me feel at ease and answered all my questions with detail showing me different styles and techniques. I wanted someone who's patient and skilled which she proved to be that. The day of, she walked me through the whole process explaining everything step by step. I mentioned to her how I wanted the shape and color and she gave me some suggestions that were very helpful, things that I didn't even consider. I'm so glad that she gave me her opinions and didn't just say okay to whatever I wanted and at the same time, if I didn't agree with her, she was understanding and open-minded. That's why she's a skilled artist and technician. She suggested that I go lighter than what I originally wanted so that she could see how the pigments would take on my skin because everyone's skin is different, and that she'll have a better idea after I go back for the 1 time free touch-up. Elsa was very attentive asking me how I felt throughout the whole process and she added numbing cream as needed. For the eyebrows, I didn't feel pain at all, I can only hear that she's combing through the hairs. The lash line I could feel a tiny sting halfway through but she just added more numbing cream so it was fine. She stayed professional and at the same time we had our personal chats... kinda felt like I was getting treatment and a therapy session at the same time haha. The whole process for both services took about 2.5 hours including the time for the numbing cream to kick in. After it was all done, she handed me the mirror and to my surprise it looked really natural considering I just had it done. I expected to look like an angry bird character and that wasn't the case. She included after care instructions and A+D/Q-tips after the session which is so considerate. So after 2 months past, I went for the free touch-up and she made me feel as welcomed as the 1st time. She builds a relationship with you that you just feel so comfortable. I loved how natural they looked and glad that I took her advice about going lighter but I just wanted them a tad bit darker from the shade she used('cuz I get a bit tanned in the summer). I was going to mention it but she remembered and also had that all in her notes from the 1st session. She's so detailed oriented that she already knew what pigments she was going to use. Again, I can't get over how natural they look both color and the feather-strokes. I also love how the lash liner just makes it look like I have fuller/thicker lashes as well. While I can't say that I desire more hair on my face, the truth is if I had 20 more sets of eyebrows, I'd come back 20 more times for Elsa to do her magic because her work is amazing! I am the type of person that can go out without make up except for eyebrows. I feel naked when it is not perfectly filled out and done. To me the eyebrows frames your face, lifts your eyes and makes you look younger. I have been obsessing of having a thicker and more defined brows through microblading for 2 years. I did lots of research and browsed numerous photos just to make sure that it really does work and there there are no consequences of having it done in a certain establishmeant. For reference, I have brows but it has some sparse spaces and I usually fill it in and shape it for at least 5 mins every time I go out. Unfortunately when I sweat, wear a hat or get into water it gets smudged and becomes uneven. Fast forward to finding Elsa on Yelp and I never looked back! Elsa is one of the sweetest and bubbliest person I have ever met. She is very patient, attentive and flexible when it comes to designing and shaping your brows. Her place is very neat and well organized. She will walk you through the whole process from pre-procedure, procedure and aftercare. Your comfort is very important to her. I was so comfortable that I have fallen asleep during the initial and follow up visits. The first visit is to design and shape your brows. Don't be alarmed that at first you have HUGE and super dark brows. It will shrink and lighten up after a few days. And voila comes out beautiful natural looking brows. The follow up will be to perfect your brows. I really, really love my brows!!! People have been constantly complementing me on it and asking me about how it is so perfect all the time---surprisingly the guys were the first to notice and asked haha. I did semi permanent eyebrows two months ago and was very pleased with the results, and I just went back for my second complementary touch-up today. Her place is clean and inviting. She takes her time and never makes you feel rushed. She waits patiently to allow the numbing medicine to kick in and at the same time chats with you to make you feel comfortable. finally decided to get my eyebrows done and lashliner as well. be warned that your eyebrows will looks really dark right after appointment! (ppl will stare at it lol...so best to do it friday and stay in on the weekend!) took about 4 days till the color faded away and looked more natural! i was really happy with the results of my eyebrows after the first appt. there were few spots that faded more than other which was fixed at the touchup appt month later. the lash liner faded away a lot more than the eyebrows so at the touch up Elsa focused more on it which i appreciated. the lash liner came out the way i wanted second time around. very natural! procedure did not hurt at all for me and i was half sleeping comfortably while Elsa does her magic! she is very friendly and a great person! price is reasonable and worth it!!! read more
