I was looking for new places to get my eyebrows waxed and I found this place. I got my eyebrow waxed there by SaSa. She's very careful and detail oriented and very sociable as well. She asked me what eyebrow shape I wanted and whether I wanted to follow my nature eyebrow outline (and yes that's what I did). I came in for a deep cleansing facial from groupon. It was very easy to schedule. I called in the morning and got an appointment for later that same day. The place is very clean and the staff was very friendly. She really did a goob job at cleansing my pores and getting all the black heads. It was very relaxing. At the end, she also told me about the packages that they offer. I liked that she wasn't pushing the sales on me. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 star is because she was also getting up to answer the phone and greet other customers while doing my facial. It was a bit distracting. The only bad part of the facial was when I felt a razor over my right eyebrow. I just had my eyebrows threaded two days before the facial so I don't know what she was seeing. She also did not ask me if this is something I wanted to have done. As a few other reviews state, they did try to up-sell me to get a sensitive skin treatment for an extra $8-$10. I did not accept. Relaxation - Terrible. I was not able to relax due to noise such as people talking, stomping around, microwave beeping, doors opening and closing, and phones ringing. Privacy - We were led into the room and were left alone to prepare. The facialist comes into the room maybe two minutes later and does not knock on the door to see if we were ready for her to come in. Lastly, when the facial was complete, the steemer/light set was left right next to the bed and not put back in the original place. It is a small room so it is difficult to get around trying not to trip on wires. All in all, I would return for a facial but do not expect to feel rejuvenated afterwards. read more

I needed a facial so I googled local spots near me and came across UV BEAUTY. I read some reviews prior to booking my appointment and they seemed pretty good so I figured "why not try this place out?" Booking an appointment over the phone was very quick and easy. I went in there with the intention of getting a deep cleansing facial ($40) but as soon as I got there, she kept trying to get me to upgrade my facial because of how "bad" my skin was. Obviously, she was just trying to make more money for her business because 1, she didn't even get a good look at my skin before telling me what my skin "needs" and 2, the upgrades are more expensive. I didn't really mind because any business will always try to make more money but I told her "no thanks" anyways. However, she kept offering me upgrades even throughout my entire facial!!!!!!! She didn't even let me relax and enjoy the facial in peace. I kept telling her no and she kept insisting. At this point, it was just flat out annoying. The facial and the short massage they gave me was great and my skin did feel good after, but they are just too persistent. This will make a lot of customers never want to come back. A few months later, I came across the same "deep cleansing facial" on groupon for half the price ($20). So, I booked an appointment with them again. When I walked in and showed them my Groupon receipt, they didn't seem too happy because obviously, they'd rather charge someone $40 instead of $20 for the same facial. However, she accepts the receipt anyways and gets me all set up. Oh and by the way, the esthetician didn't remember me and assumed I was a first timer. As she's about to start my facial, she offers me an upgrade and I immediately say "no." As she's doing my facial, I notice she's doing things differently than the first time. Different in a way where she was just trying to rush through it and I didn't even get a massage with the facial (as I did the first time). This pissed me off because they expect you to tip the same, whether you pay $40 for your deep cleansing facial or $20 off Groupon. They expect you to pay for the SERVICE. Well, I expect them to offer the SAME SERVICE regardless of the price they're charging me. Just because I got a discount, doesn't mean I should get any less treatment. First time here and unfortunately did not have a good time. Luckily I was not being sold on any upgrades. However, I felt facial was terrible. I waited basically about 15 min before any technician came into the room. Then she left again for another 10 or so. During this whole time, it sounded like there was construction going on given noise. NOT tranquil at all. I mean, I get that you go to a facial place it's like in Chinatown, you don't go for the ambiance, but rather the service. I can tell you that I have been to facial places that had terrible ambiances but great service. Terrible, unprofessional place that I do NOT recommend. The facial was okay but there was absolutely no undivided attention for my moms and my facial. The two women kept leaving the room to answer phone calls, other people and things of that sort which I found very rude. I don't understand why that was not mentioned in the groupon ad at the time of purchasing. How is this a DEEP CLEANING facial if no machines are used?! So we both bought two extras which cost 10$ each, one microdermabrasion for me and one whitening addition for her. Even though I paid 10$ more, I felt like the facial was still subpar because it was just creams upon creams and the extractions were very little. For someone with Huge pores, this is not the first time I have received a facial so I know I need a lot of extracting. Worst part was at the end when I believe the owner came in and after I paid my 20$ extra, she literally does not allow me to leave with out a tip. I'm trying to open the door but she doesn't buzz me out because she's like, "oh did you not like the facial? She worked very hard on it." And I replied by saying it was okay but I do not have change, I truthfully didn't feel as though the place deserved a tip, and then she said, "oh we accept credit card" but I do not trust any place with cards so I opted to give her five singles from my wallet. It was then, the owner gives me a crazy look and says, only 5$? And sucks her teeth. She says that tips range from 5$ to 20$ and I lost it. When you walk in, you can tell they take care of the place and its very clean. The lady that did my facial was so friendly I tipped generously and she gave me a microdermobrasion for $10 as an addition. I have been to different facialists and this place has good customer service, clean rooms, special machines, and quality esthetician care without breaking the bank. The extractions are pretty painful though. But i have problematic skin with acne so i am used to having painful extractions. The estheticians have their licenses on display at the front desk. My esthetician cleaned each pore in my face and it feels super clean and healthy. I like the music they play and the quiet calming environment. It looks like I found my new facial spot! read more

I was a dedicated customer of Saikay Facial in Flushing for 8 years but it was getting way too expensive for the sensitive package that cost $650. So I went to multiple places in Flushing using groupon deals and compared their service with their pricing and concluded this place was it! She told me the price for permanent full face laser hair removal was $980 seven times. Then I asked her what if I did it seven times and then it grew back. She told me I would get half the money back. And now I have done that seven times. But after only a month，the hair on my face grew back. Their AD was for permanent laser hair removal, but after only a month, my hair grew out！！！ Then I called them and asked for half my money back. I found out about this place via the Groupon Deal. A bit out of my way but I was happy to try a new place. The staff was very nice and I was very relieved at how clean and quiet it was in the lobby area. A true germophobe, I checked the bathroom and it equally past the test! The deep cleaning facial was absolutely great, and even though she upsold me during it to add another service (typical for places like these) the moisturizing lotions were worth it. I only wish I would have known what products she was using or what effect they would have (I like for people to talk to me so I know what's going on) but she did a very thorough job overall. The staff was really nice. The women helping were super friendly, the establishment is really clean. I do have to say though that I wish they did extractions. I got the deep pore cleansing facial on Groupon, they didn't do extractions! I asked them which facials came with extractions, the woman would not answer me. Basically my facial was all about putting on and taking off of creams. They did use a mitten that was slightly exfoliating, but not enough. The last step was a mask that had some chemical on it that burned a little. Somehow though my face didn't look bad and even improved a little a few days after. I don't live in flushing but decided to give this place a try since I was around the neighborhood with time to kill and I needed a facial pretty badly. I knew they would try to sell me a package as soon as I was finishing up my facial. I had already told the lady who worked on my face that I did not live in Queens and she still insisted to sell me a package. I bought a basic package in the end for times when I am around flushing. Of course, I did not get to go back till 2 months later since it was not convenient for me, and the lady had tried to sell me a facial cleanser when I returned due to the reason that I do not get facials often from them...Overall, my facials were average, like most Chinese facial places. It does the job, basic cleaning, nothing special as they do not inform you of what kind of products they use or what is recommended for your skin. The place is very clean and comfortable, the stuff are nice and professional.The facial was done well, the girl did a great job at really cleaning my pores. Long story short, I had a great relaxing facial. The lady who did my face, Amy, is the owner of the store. English is not her first language but she really tries her best! She explained and answered questions about my face. She did a great job cleaning my pores and you can tell she's really experienced. The facial took just a little over an hour. She wasn't rushing at all(compare to other spas in Flushing)and I can tell she really spent time on my face. I signed up for 12 months facial and skin tag. Before I signed up facial, Macy is the one of owner, she was very nice and polite, after I signed up one year plan. Boy, the attitude change to 360 degrees. For example, like I use to get a private room after the 3rd times, she putted in the semi room, share with a stranger, even thought the place is not busy. I always made an appointment with Macy. Most of times she either canceled my appointment or never show up. One time they substitute a beautician with no experience and I supposedly get skin tag, since the sub-beautician has no experience, so she can't do it. I paid for it and didn't get the treatment. Then Macy got pregnant and they tried to give me some one else with no experience. I wasn't very happy about it. Then I found out there is another co-owner, Linda. First, she was hesitate to take me. I have to demand for her. I wasn't happy with her too. Like, she never on time, I have to wait for her. The place is not that clean, the bedsheet always have stains or is worn out. When they are no busy the people who works in the front desk, talking so loud and I can't get a peace while getting a facial. Back to my face, when I signed up Macy told me that skin tag will remove my brown spots on my face, as today the brown spots stand in the same spot. I have asked Macy why the spot didn't reduce or disappear, she said there is nothing she could do about it. My last appointment with Linda, she asked do I want to sign up for another year of facial. Considering how good the reviews are, I expected a much better experience than the one I received. I got a Groupon as a gift, and I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment for 1:00pm. When I got there, the woman at the desk offered me a sensitive skin facial which i declined. During the facial she straight up told me I have "terrible skin" and that I have to be going at least once a month, even though I have no acne and just some regular blackheads on my nose, with a typical breakout every once in a while. That irritated me a little, but I just left it alone and stayed silent. After the facial, I expected to just give my tip and leave but instead get told that I owe $10. Apparently saying no to the sensitive skin facial at the beginning of the appointment didn't mean anything since she went ahead and did it anyway and charged me for it. With the facial being an unexpected hour and a half long, I was in a rush to leave. I only had a few dollars in cash since I wasn't expecting any added charges so I had to put it on my card. Oh, and they have a fee for credits cards. Another added charge for that, too. I'm already irritated that they more or less conned me into getting this facial, but I'm in a rush and not trying to waste time fighting with her so I'm just trying to pay and leave.
