My original plan was to get lash extensions for my wedding so I planned to do them 3 weeks before my wedding to make sure I wasn't allergic to the glue and after 3 weeks I went for my fill. My lashes looked amazing even after 3 weeks (of course some fell out it's a natural process of lashes) but it still looked beautiful! I got so many compliments and my lashes are still going strong!!! We called in advance to make appointments for the both of us for a Wednesday morning. Initially this place was a little hard to find because it was one of many stores inside a building but we eventually found our way. The place was small but it was very clean and I felt comfortable being there. I didn't catch the name of the lady who did my lashes but she was extremely gentle and made sure that I was comfortable as she proceeded with the lashes. A lot of the women in my family have eyelash extensions and they've been trying to convince me to get it for a while so I finally caved and said why not. Onto Yelp I went, since I recently moved to New York and searching eyelash extensions on Yelp you can tell how overwhelmed I became at the results that I got. There's a salon on almost every corner here in Queens, lol. So I narrowed down to a few based on reviews, wink wink was one of the three that I had bookmarked and kept in mind. Saturday night I finally made the decision that I was coming to wink wink, it was pretty late, around 11 ish I sent them a message through yelp, they replied in about five minutes, we chatted for a bit and I asked for an opening the next day. They had 1:30 open, so I booked my appointment. When I got there I was greeted right away, the lady asked if I spoke Mandarin or Korean I said neither just English, lol. They are good at accommodating their customers, I never felt like there was a language barrier. Michelle was the nice lady who took care of me when I went in. She did all the explaining it the beginning telling me the difference silk and mink, prices, length and what type of curl. I chose the $60 silk lashes because they are softer for my liking and I didn't want to go all out with the $80 soft silk yet because I didn't know how I would like eyelash extensions since this is my first time. Michelle then told me to go lay down and she started right away, I went laid down at 1:38 and I didn't get done until 2:40 so that to me I know she took all the time she needed and I love the results of my lashes. Afterwards she told me the after care directions for it too. I love this place, very welcoming and kind workers and yes it is super relaxing too, a lady next to me getting hers done fell asleep, and I think even her friend who came to stay with her not getting her lashes done was just really relaxed by the atmosphere and fell asleep on one of the beds too. Lol. I would definitely come back when it's time. I will update on how durable and length it stays on when the time comes. I purchased a voucher from Groupon and upon arrival, the lady who handled me told me Groupon only covers mink, if I wanted silk it would be an additional $20 and if I wanted real mink it would be an additional $40. I settled with silk, natural C12. The hour long process was relaxing, no irritation. However, the moment I opened my eyes, my eyes started burning like crazy. The lady held the fan near my eyes to relieve the burning sensation. The lashes came out natural and I guess because of my eye shape, the lashes at the inner corner of my eyes aren't apparent (only the rear shows). When I went to pay, the lady said since I got silk, that'll be an additional $25 (?!) I remember the yelp reviews said it being additional $20 and she mentioned it in the beginning saying it was an additional $20. It wasn't a big deal so I didn't point it out at that time. I just found it quite odd. In total including the tips, the price came out to be around $100. Fast forward to the next morning after I got my lashes done, I got a pink eye. My eyes were super bloodshotted and it hurts every time I blink or move my eyeballs. The redness and the pain persists til now (day5). read more

It was my first time getting them done so I wasn't sure what the process would be like but the lady who helped me was very patient while i picked out the type of lash, length, and style that I wanted. I went with the "sexy" style where the lashes are longer towards the outer corner of the eye. The length I'm unsure about since the technician measured my natural lashes and added a few mm as she went. I was so happy with the end result as they gave my eyes a more defined look without looking like I'm wearing super thick falsies. Booked my first appointment the same day. Kimi responded quickly to my request. Once I got there, I only waited about 5 mins because she was finishing up with a client. Once there, she explained the different types of lashes, the styles to choose from and also the curve/length of the lashes. I chose the real mink lashes with the C curve and length 11. However when I laid down she noticed my real lashes were longer and suggested I go longer In length. So we switched to the 12-13. Overall I love my lashes and they do not feel heavy or hurt at all. Purchased a Groupon for a full set of eyelash extensions and found out later that they honor the Groupon price so if you don't buy one don't worry. I had an appointment for Monday late afternoon and Kim was there to do my lashes. I sat down with her first and she asked if I wanted to upgrade to two other levels of lashes ( extra $20 or $40) on top of what I already paid. I opted not to and went with whatever the Groupon covered but told her I wanted more dramatic lashes since I was doing an engagement shoot. I laid down on one of the beds, took off my shoes for more comfort, and had the option of a blanket while she performed magic. It took one hour to do all my lashes. She did each one individually and they didn't feel heavy at all. It's been two weeks and most of my lashes are still in place. I went to another lash place in the city prior and most of the lashes fell out after one week. During the whole process I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and I didn't have any bad reactions to the glue/lashes. The set up is very clean and professional. Plenty of street parking if you go along the numbers and not park on Northern Blvd. I don't know how many technicians are there but I was the only one with her at the moment. I was told a new set of lashes is $60 cash, mink or silk. Once it was time to pay I was told I have to pay $80 for mink, which I paid. Then, the lady asked for tip and I gave all the cash I had left, which was only $5 (I only had $5 because I was expecting the lashes to cost $60). The owner asked why I'm tipping so little and I said it was all the cash I had. Then she said she could scan my credit card for tip...but it's supposed to be a cash only place.... As I was leaving, she asked if the girl who did my lashes explained maintenance to make the lashes last longer. I'm really confused as to why this place has good reviews. I've done my lashes many times before but found this place and thought I'd give this place a try because it's cheaper and let's be real, eye lashes are expensive almost everywhere. I got the Groupon for a full set for $54 which was valued as $120 on Groupon. Fine. I get in, they tell me I have to pay $5 for a the Groupon tax and that it's only valid for $60 full set, even tho it's valued at $120 on Groupon. Fine. My sister and I both requested the "gorgeous" lashes. My lashes are long but I do them so I can get the nice fullness and curled look. I also don't feel like putting mascara on so this is just more convenient. Everywhere I go I get 15c. They tried to get us to do the 13c because I overheard them say they don't have 15c. The 13c was shorter than my real lashes. Anyways, I'm not sure what I got because my 15c length lashes from lash bar in Astoria (aka the best place) were much more longer than the "15c" they gave me. Now they weren't the worst lashes but they definitely weren't up to par. I showed them a picture of how my lashes were done at other places and the lady basically said "I don't know this". The lashes pretty much looked like my own lashes, which sucks because you want them to visibly look different. They're not full at all! My sisters were a little longer than mine and I said to them, "why are hers better than mine?" if we asked for the same lashes. They didn't have an answer other than "your eyes too big, $20 for 20 more pieces." Mind you, me and my sister both have big eyes. I asked them to make them fuller, they told me to come back another day and then magically squeezed me in for 20 more pieces. Not much of a difference. I now had to go through the same process 2x, pay an extra $20 and then tip the original tech and the second one who added the 20 more lashes. Money not well spent. Also... a customer was there paying for her lashes. She stated she wanted to pay with her credit card. The owner said their credit card machine was temporarily out of service. The girl was like "ok let me find a bank so I can take some money out". The owner asked the girl to leave her id behind and the girl was like "I need my idea to withdraw money". So then the girl left her credit card behind otherwise she wasn't allowed to leave. The girl comes back 20 min later with $60 in hand. She hands over the cash and the owner asked how she would like to tip the tech. The girl was like "I'm sorry I only took cash or for the lashes". The owner then said "you can leave a cash tip or put it on your credit card, the girl spent an hour on you, you have to tip her." How is the credit card working for tip after she just made her leave to get cash because it was temporarily out of service? GREEDY!!!!!! Oh and their Brazilian waxes are out in the open with other customers there to watch you with your legs open. When a girl questioned that, the owner said "no big deal were all ladies" idgaf if we're all ladies, we don't want anyone looking at our lady parts! Overall not a great experience. I don't plan on returning. I will post a picture of my lashes from wink wink and a picture of what real lashes look like from my original go to place at Lash Bar in Astoria! Any place like this lures people in with cheap prices and then add ons such as thickness $10, 20 more pieces $20. Adding up to expensive places that actually do a better job. Before I left I asked if the price would be $60 for the next time I come so I don't have to pay the bullsh*t $20 they asked me for. And they were like "yea $60 next time" even though my sister got the same thing I asked for, for less and better lengthier lashes. 1 stars because I don't know how long they'll last. Again they're not awful, but I don't want to pay for lashes that look like my own at a place that won't accommodate me, instead insist that my big eyes are the problem. --- since I cannot reply to the owner I'll do it here. You never even stated this information before hand about how many lashes you get. Thankfully, other places work differently and go by what you need for big eyes and small eyes etc. Second, you put your place on Groupon, that's suppose to be your expense, not mine. Made and appointment for a Saturday afternoon. Parking nearby are ample but they are only 1 hour so it may be best to find a parking spot further away where you don't need to pay. Used the Yelp deal for the Silk set. They provide you a consultation on what you want with samples for you to see. They show you lengths and their different types of lashes. When arrived it was easy to find and my first impression was NICE! Clean area. Looks pretty professional. They had about 4 tables so if they had enough technicians to take multiple appointments. Unfortunately when I was doing my lashes my lash technician and someone in the front was having an argument. They were yelling at each other in Korean and instead of taking an hour to complete my lashes it took almost 20 minutes more causing me to get a parking ticket. I really like this place but this experience makes me want to go elsewhere. Update 1: After posting my delayed review because I forgot to "post" it. I received a call from the Salon. They asked about what happened that day and explained that their normal services are usually an hour and fifteen minutes. Ok I'll give them that. I understand they don't want to rush and do a crappy job. They explained maybe they were talking loudly with each other and not arguing and yelling but I doubt it. Nonetheless I appreciate being heard and given an explanation. I realized I didn't rate their work. The lash job they did on my was really nice. It was even and stayed on for a little over 3 weeks. I did refer a friend and they went for a set. It looked great on them too. After apologizing and acknowledging my unsatisfying experience they offered to give me a better experience next time. This place is fairly new and let me start by saying I've been getting my lashes done for 3 years now so I know lashes... The place has a very good location, there is ample street parking both by private houses and meters. The ladies there are super nice and accommodating regarding scheduling. That being said...the lashes just don't last! The first time I came here I made the appt based on their grand opening price on their website stating mink lashes were 50% off so $55 I believe for a new set? When I came in they said that deal is over they were able to give me something for like $10 more bc I refused to get the silk lashes as I had an allergy once before. Then it was an extra $10 if you want the thick lashes (which in other places are just regular mink lashes. For some reason theirs are super thin). Anyway after all that I had them done, they looked great but within a few days I had extreme fall out. They were nice enough to fix them up again. And then I went for a 2 week fill-in warning the girl that they didn't last first time so make sure you use the right amount of glue...once again within a week half my lashes are gone! I contacted them about it but they said that's normal fall out and I should just come in for a 2 week fill in. Not sure if they do this on purpose so you're forced to just keep coming in every 2 weeks. But like I've said I've been getting my lashes done for a while now and in other places my lashes would look amazing for 3 weeks straight! Bc think about it if applied correctly they should fall out with the natural cycle of your natural lashes which is 4-6 weeks given some fall out here and there but not half in the matter of 7-10 days. It's just not work $55 every 2 weeks. So many other places in flushing that are better priced and last longer. read more
